We arrived at the pack house and Ripley was already waiting for our arrival, Mom stood next to her in front of the pack house waiting for us, they both had worried looks on their faces.
I walked into the pack house, and they all followed me, Dad and Derick had also arrived. The tension in the air was thick, and my wolf was angry, I was angry. We both wanted blood.
” Ripley, we have a situation at hand and your ability is highly needed,” I tell her.
Ripley is a pack member and one of my trusted allies, she is both a werewolf and a witch. Her father was mated to a white witch, and they had her together, which makes her a were-witch, as her type is called. She is the help we require in other to know why my mate is suddenly missing.
” I am always at your beck and call, Alpha, what do you need me to do,” Ripley says as she bows her head to me.
” As you have heard, my mate and the future Luna of Waterfall pack have gone missing a few hours ago, I need your help in finding out where she is,” I explained to her.
” Okay, Alpha, but I would need any of her belongings to create a connection with her soul, so I can locate her.”
I nod my head to Greg, as he runs to his car and brings her stuff he retrieved from her car earlier.
” Will this do?” he asks, bringing her phone.
” Yes, it is enough to create a connection with her,” Ripley answers as she stretches her hand and collects the phone from him.
I stood in a corner motoring all that was happening, Ripley started her work as all she requested was provided to do the rituals.
She surrounded herself with a white substance creating a circle with it as she stood inside the circle she created, I watched as she placed Macy’s phone on the ground inside the circle with her, and then she started chanting in words no one except her could understand.
Her eyes were closed as she spoke in a different language, and everyone kept a close eye on her, watching her every move, we all were expecting good news. After a few minutes of chanting and speaking in different languages, Ripley finally opens her eyes, but it is that of her wolf that is shining bright in place of hers, she stays still for a while before taking back control and her eyes go back to normal.
We let her catch her breath as Mom helps her to sit down on the couch, Whenever Ripley uses her magic it weakens her and her wolf and it takes her some hours to regain her strength.
” What did you see, Ripley, is she safe?” I ask her impatiently.
” Alpha, I saw her but…”
” But what?” both I and my brother asked at once.
Everyone in the room looked at Ripley wanting to hear from her, we all wanted information.
” But what Ripley,” I asked again in a low voice, and for the hundredth time today I felt nervous, as we awaited her answer.
” She is in the hands of an enemy, She is somewhere dark and alone, I could feel her fears and hear her cries,” Ripley explains.
Her answer made my blood boil, who on earth had done this? Which enemy do I have that would dare do this, I know I made plenty of enemies over the years. Due to my reputation and what I did these past two years.
” So that means our suspicion was correct, she has been kidnapped?” Dad asks.
” Yes, she has been taken against her will and is being kept somewhere,” Ripley replied.
” Do you know who has done this?” I asked in a deadly tone.
” Alpha, I do not know the culprit, but I think I can describe the location of where she is being held.”
” Where is she, Ripley?” Derick asks this time, fear shining in his eyes as he paces back and forth.
” Close to the mountains, I could hear the springs as the water splashed, it looked like a big field with an old building standing in the middle,” she explained to us.
My mind wandered to where exactly could this place be,
” Ripley, we need a more vivid explanation, did you see any landmarks or maybe a signpost or a street name that could help?” Derick asks.
” That was all I could see clearly. I’m sorry,” she says.
” Ripley, no need to be sorry, you have been of great help. Thank you.” I tell her, nodding my head at her.
” This is not of any assistance, there is no vivid explanation of where she is or how to get her back!” Derick says angrily.
Now he was starting to get on my nerves with his stupid comebacks, how dare he say that in front of Ripley?
” If you don’t have anything to say then shut up Derick, stop saying whatever it is that gets in your head,” I yell at him.
” You don’t get to tell me what to say or not, Liam. Moreover, I am Macy’s boyfriend! Mate or not, I loved her first, so I have every right to say what I want in this situation at hand.” he yells back at me.
My wolf and I had had enough of his stupid behavior as we moved in fast strides, in a blink of an eye we stood an inch apart from Derick, and before he could register a thing I punched him hard in the face, I bet everyone in the room heard the sound of a bone crack as he fell to the ground and groaned in pain holding his jaw, which, I believe, is now broken.
” How dare you lay a claim to my mate, she’s mine! And the sooner you accept that, the better it is for you brother.” with that, I walked out of the pack house, leaving all of them still gathered there.
I quickly shifted to my wolf as we ran into the woods, he was furious, and he howled in agony as we ran as fast as our legs could carry.
A few minutes into our run, we hear a ruffling noise coming from behind a tree, as we stare ahead prepared to attack whatever that is, a big brown wolf steps in front of my wolf.
” What are you doing here?” I mind link, not expecting to see him here.
” I couldn’t just let you go out on your own, knowing how much pain you are in, and it is partly my fault.”
” It’s not your fault Greg, whatever happened was not your fault. You had no way of preventing it from happening.”
” But if only I had arrived earlier then maybe she would be here with us.” I sigh at my beta’s words.
I shift back, and I sit butt naked on the grass, knees up as I lay my hands on them,
” it is my fault, If only I had brought her home earlier then this would not have happened, so I apologize for earlier, you did nothing wrong,” I told my beta, who had shifted and was seated on the ground, naked like me.
” Liam, we will get her back,” he spoke with so much love and belief.
” Thanks.” that was all I could say as I stared ahead, my mind goes back to where my mate was and what she might be going through.
