Liam POV
The moment I answered her call, my heart raced to hear her panicked voice over the phone. After hearing her reason for calling and that she was fine, my fear subsided.
I knew this moment would come in due time, but I never imagined Derick finding out the way he did. I’ll wait for his arrival, he knows better than to start a fight with me, but if he brings on a fight, then I will not have a choice but to fight him. Brother or not.
I mind-linked Greg to come over to my Office immediately. I heard a knock on my office door and I knew it was my Beta. “Come in, Greg.”
“You called for me, Alpha.”
“Yes, I did, I have something important I need you to do for me,” I explained.
“Anything Alpha, what do you want me to do?”
“I need you to go over to Macy’s house and bring her here.”
“Alpha, I mean not to question your orders but are you sure of what you are asking me to do?” Greg asks, looking concerned.
“Yes. Derick found out I took her to the beach house, according to her, he is furious he just left her apartment and is heading here.” I explained looking out the window.
“Alright, Alpha, but what if she resists coming along?”
“I’ll call her to let her know I’m sending you over.”
“Okay, Alpha, I’ll leave now.”
“Thanks, Greg.”
“No need to thank me, Liam, she’s my future Luna and you are my best friend, I’ll help in any way that I can.
I nod at his words, he leaves my office and I go to my room, I change into more comfortable clothes knowing I might be facing my brother soon in a fight over his girlfriend, who is my mate. I shrug at the drama, what a twist of fate, I mutter under my breath.
Thirty minutes later, I hear a car screech loudly in front of the park house, I smirk at his behavior. Derick can be dramatic. I walk out of my room and stroll downstairs to go face my brother, who is already shouting my name.
I reached downstairs and I saw Mom and Dad trying to stop Derick from climbing the stairs. Our eyes meet, and he breaks out from their hold and darts in my direction.
Derick throws a punch at me the moment he gets close to me, but I dodge and push him backward.
He comes back at me, and this time his wolf comes forward as he launches himself at me. Before he could land any hits, my hands moved fast and hit his jaw, making him drop to the ground.
” Liam! Please you and Derick should stop such madness,”
Mom screamed at us, and Dad held unto her restricting her from coming between us.
The anger in my brother’s eyes was evident, he wanted nothing but blood, and his wolf was angry as well.
We collided again, landing blows on each other’s bodies as we fought in our human forms. My wolf growls at his and Vaarg growls back, Rage, urging me to shift, so he takes over the fight.
“Stop this nonsense at once! Enough!” Dad growled, his wolf, coming forward as he walks over to us and stands between us, his hands stretched out at both of us as he separates us.
” How dare you! Liam, I am your brother, and you fucking do this to me?”
“And what has your brother done that warrants you to start a fight with him?” Mom asks a fuming Derick.
“Your precious son kidnapped my girlfriend for two days,” he says to Mom.
I roll my eyes at his words, Derick is acting childish right now, and I’m not desiring all this, I have bigger problems at hand and that is explaining everything to my mate, who I hope understands and accepts me.
” Cut the crap, Derick, where did you hear such nonsense, and for the record, if anything she came along voluntarily,” I explained to my hot-headed brother.
“Derick, that’s not possible, how can he kidnap what’s his already?” Mom says to Derick.
“What’s his? I don’t understand what are you saying, Mom.” Derick mutters, his face showing how confused he is about Mom’s reply.
” Derick I never kidnapped Macy she decided to come, I would never do anything to hurt her because she is mine.”
” What do you mean she’s yours, Liam!” Derick screamed at me.
” Well Because she is my fucking mate!” I yell back at my brother.
The room turned silent at my outburst, one could hear a pin drop, My brother paused, his eyes shining as he stared at me dumbfounded. Our eyes searched one another.
” What do you mean?” Derick asks, his words coming out like a whisper.
“What I have just said, Derick, I smelt her at the party. I just couldn’t tell you, and now I can’t let you have her because she is my chosen.” I explained
” But she’s human, she doesn’t even know about us, that we’re werewolves, Liam.”
“It does not matter Derick, I want you to let her go because I am not giving up on my mate.”
” I love her too much, to let her go, Liam.”
” So you are going to stand here and challenge your Alpha?” I asked, my aura slowly coming out.
” Well, looks like you’re forgetting that I’m Alpha blood too, Brother,” Derick says, his wolf growling at me.
“You are no match for me Derick and you know it, you better stand down,” I tell him, anger brewing in my head, If he continues like this, I’ll have no choice but to show him why I am feared by others.
” Macy has always been mine, I found her first, I loved her first, so you have no right to take her from me, Liam, bond or not,” Derick says through gritted teeth.
That was it, the words leaving his mouth were enough to throw my wolf and me off the edge, I immediately attacked my brother, and we started fighting in our human forms.
I pushed him outside the pack house, wouldn’t want to destroy the interior of the house due to our fight.
We continued fighting still in our human form, I could hear Mom shouting for us to stop in the background, and my brother fought with so much anger, It was evident his finding out that Macy was my mate had damaged him. He wanted nothing but blood, he and his wolf saw red.
Derick shifts to his wolf in no time, and Vaarg growls at me angrily as he runs toward me, I run toward him too, but this time I jump and shift midair. Our wolves collide and the impact is hard, we fight in our wolf forms. Teeth, claws, furs entwined, and blood were all that could be seen.
Dad held Mom tight in his arms as they both watched their sons tearing themselves apart. Derick and I fought hard, with me having the upper hand, his wolf was wounded but was still fighting strong.
Just then Greg drives in, he comes out of his car alone looking disheartened.
” Alpha, please stop, we have more pressing issues at hand,” he mind-links to me.
I quickly push Derick to the side as I shift back.
“What is it?” I ask,
“It’s Macy.”
I tensed as I heard her name, there was this odd feeling like something bad just happened.
“Where is she? Greg, you were asked to bring her back to Waterfall.”
” What happened with, Macy?” my brother comes behind asking, already shifted back.
I turned my gaze to Greg, waiting for him to speak, his silence was killing me.
“I’m sorry Alpha, but when I arrived at her apartment she was gone, her car too was missing, so I imagined maybe she went to work, but when I got to her office it was locked. I quickly headed back to Waterfall, but, on my way I saw her car close to the pack’s border, parked on the road. I immediately went to check, but she was gone, no trace of her.”
“So you mean to say she is missing?” Dad asks.
“I think she’s been kidnapped.”
