Derick POV
My heart ached as I drove off, I felt betrayed, for what possible reason would Macy lie to me? I know my girl, something’s up, I swear if Liam as much as laid a hand on her, I would kill him, I don’t fucking care about him being the pack’s Alpha. Macy’s my world, I have never loved like this in my entire life, she completes me, these past two years she has been in my life have been the best years of my entirety; I won’t lose her, not now or ever.
I drove to one of the clubs I owned, I fucking needed a drink, going back to Waterfall is not an option now, I don’t think I’ll be able to control myself around Liam now, at least not until I know what’s going on and why the hell he is involving himself with my girl. I strolled into the club, it was full of drunk and horny people, and it smelt of Sweat mixed with sex. I went through the VIP door at the back and walked straight to the VVIP lounge. A waitress brought a bottle of whiskey, I didn’t bother with a glass as I downed the content from the bottle instead. The hash taste of the liquor hit my throat, it burned me, but it could never compare to the pain I am feeling right now. For the first time, Macy pushed me away only that hurts like a bitch, now Liam gets involved. I need to put the puzzle together.
Just then one of my trusted men walks, he sits opposite me. “Boss, I have what you asked for”
“Good, so what is the report?”
“It’s simply as you suspected, here is all the information.” he handed me a brown file, and my hands shivered as I collected it from him. Whatever was inside will determine my next actions.
When Macy went MIA. I asked my sources to find her, I feared maybe something bad had happened to her, After seeing Liam drop her off, I called my source demanding their whereabouts for the last 24 hours. It’s been a few hours, but the results are here now in my hands. I quickly opened the file and what I saw broke me.
Macy left with Liam in his car on the day she decided to disappear, this seems to be taken from the CCTV of the building across her office.
“Sir, we have the full video if you would like to see it.”
“Yes please, show me,” I whispered
He brought out a pad and turned on the video, he handed it over to me. I am shocked by what’s in it. My brother arrived first, then 30 minutes later she comes out with him holding her close, and they left together in his car.
“Sir, we tracked them to his beach house just outside the city. One of my men was able to get info.”
“What did he find out? I want every detail, don’t hide anything.” I declare
“Sir, he was able to ascertain that she indeed spent the night at the beach house with your brother, we were capable of taking a few shots,” he says, handing me an envelope this time. I open the envelope and my eyes confirm every word this man just spoke. My girlfriend laughing with my brother as they dine happily, I took another picture, and this one they are both on the beach walking hand in hand together. I squeezed the photo in my hand, I couldn’t watch it anymore. How? Just how could they do this to me? My heart hurt like it was being stamped on.
“Thank you for your hard work, Miles, you can leave.” At this point, I wanted to be alone, I poured more liquor down my throat, maybe the alcohol can take all the pain away.
“Sir, I would rather stay with you, I don’t think you should be alone in times like this,” Miles says, he has been my friend from high school, he is human but has skills like an alien, he knows his job and delivers. Miles owns and runs his secret and detective company. Yes, he knows that we exist.
Of course, that’s Miles always has his mind and does whatever he likes, I shrug at his words, I am not in the mood to argue with him, so I just allow him to be.
“Yea, do whatever you like,” I say to him, already feeling the alcohol taking its effect. My mind wanders back to my girlfriend, Macy, the only girl I have ever loved and cared for. No, I refuse to believe Macy can ever hurt me like this, maybe Liam threatened her or something, I thought, trying to justify her actions because it is the only hope I can give myself right now. My heart hurts, I never knew how much it hurts to get your heart broken until today, my wolf Vaarg has been silent since we found out. His retreated to the back of my mind, I smirked to myself I guess I’m all alone now, taking all of this pain solitary.
My phone beeps I take a look and see Mom’s messages, I have been ignoring her calls since yesterday, and I am not wanting her tantrums about coming home. I put my phone back in my pocket and I continue to drink away my sorrows.
“Hi, Derick, I missed you so much I knew you’d come back to me,” she says seductively, Shirley. My ex, who I dumped the moment Macy said yes to me, I shrug at her.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, raising my brow at her.
“Oh common Derick, no need to act hasty, my sources told me you were in the area, so I decided to pay you a visit,” she says as she sits right next to me, she looked as beautiful as always in her tight red dress, so short one could see her private if she bends over. But I cared less about that, all I wanted was my Macy.
“You’re not invited here, Shirley, so use the door,” I spoke without looking in her direction.
“Fancy seeing you here, Derick, you of all people barely come around here, especially to just seat and get drunk, I don’t see your little Teacher with you, or has she dumped your ass,” Shirley says with a smirk on her face.
“Shut the fuck up, Shirley or I’ll slit that tongue of yours.” this time my Wolf took over, my hands on her neck as Vaarg gripped her, the color of my eyes shining in my wolf’s.
“I missed you too, Vaarg especially I’ll little fun we had,” Shirley says as she licks her lips.
Shirley’s a werewolf, she used to be my favorite of all my call girls, she is beautiful, hot, smart, and knows her way in the bedroom.
I quickly took back control, I let go of her neck, sat back, and consumed more liquor. I know this will be a long night.
