Nick was getting married to a woman named Gracie, a wise and intellectual businesswoman. The subtle environment of their wedding venue was soothing and comforting for the Johnsons.
And after the wedding, Nick and Gracie were sent directly to their honeymoon destination.
To Japan, Tokyo.
Nick was reluctant to have sex with the woman. It’s been three days since their wedding already.
Holding a wine glass in the evening with a little sadness mixed in it, she smiles at Nick who walks out of his separate room in the guest house.
She was at the couch, waiting for him.
“Nick.” She calls his name.
“Yeah? I’m sorry, I’m a little busy with work at the moment-”
“You’ve been busy for three days already, Nick.” The 22 year old woman says.
Drawing his lips into a thin straight line, Nick walks into the kitchen to prepare something for himself.
He felt guilty when the woman voiced her words out at last. Her words were laced with longing and of feeling unwanted by the man. He couldn’t come up with an explanation.
“Hey,” Nick slowly turns around to find the woman staring at him. She lifts her hand up, caressing his face.
“Gracie… don’t. I’m busy.”
“I don’t know why you’re ignoring me.” Her eyes which were stuck towards his chest moves upwards.
“Do you not prefer me in this marriage?”
Nick was almost a people pleaser. He didn’t know how to say ‘no’ to people, more break their heart with what he feels. He looks at his wife with a sigh, shaking his head.
“It’s nothing like that. I’m just-”
Suddenly, Gracie tilts her head to the side and bridges the gap between their faces. She pecks him on his lips.
“I don’t know why, but I feel as though we aren’t meant to be.”
“But we are married now. I couldn’t go against their wishes.” Nick says, placing his phone back on the counter as the water boiled behind him on the stove.
“Let’s not talk about other people, Nick. I knew I found the one for me when I saw you for the first time. It was like I felt butterflies in my stomach for the first time in my life, because of you. I was as cold as ice before the thought of getting married to you. And now… I just want to be a happier woman with you. But… it’s fine if you can’t share your heart with me. I-”
The man suddenly pulls her close by her waist.
It happens in a surprising moment. His lips were moving against her as she felt his warm tongue asking for access against her lips.
“Nick-” she mumbles against his lips.
“Nick!” Pushing herself away from him, she frowns at the male.
“What are you trying to prove?” She asks coldly.
His eyes widen.
“Gracie… I’m so sorry that I married you. I couldn’t… I just couldn’t go against my family who needed a chance to step out of their grief. Even if it hurt me to stay with you.”
“You’re… hurting yourself to stay with me? Why?” She asks him with a shaky voice.
“Because I like men, I don’t like women. I don’t like the idea of making women feel pleasure under me. I would rather be taken down by a man and boy am I sinner for liking my own brothers…”
Nick breaks down at that moment.
Gracie watches him slide down to the floor as he held his face and cried. She already knew that it was his first time coming out to someone about his sexual orientation.
She respected him.
With a smile, she consoled him as they talked for the rest of the night.
Maybe it was a planned misunderstanding that he had.
As he spent the next few weeks under the same roof as this graceful businesswoman, Nick couldn’t help but fall in love with her.
On the night of August 19th, after coming back from Dan’s birthday party with his pregnant girlfriend, Nick was diagnosed with a high baby fever. He was demanding to hold their first child named Lucy. She was a few months old. Georgina didn’t know she was pregnant all until the end of January.
Her pregnancy of five months was like a miracle which pulled the Johnson Family out of their misery. The baby girl was born in April… around the birthday of Cassandra Johnson and Cassandra Sympsons.
The house felt like a dark blob without them.
And then, the Johnson siblings residence was sold away when Framton cried to his children about how lonely he felt.
The Johnson estate was back to being bright with his children, and his grandchild from that day.
Georgina had bought a few shares from the company. Louis has been doing great since then, an encouragement that he was now responsible for the whole company and its employees.
Back at Nick and Gracie’s room in the Johnson Estate, Nick was getting ready for bed when Gracie suddenly straddles his waist.
“Gracie. What are you…”
“Shush… I know I love you. Let me love you, Nick. I’ve been dying to do it with you.” Nick was flabbergasted at her words.
His answer was subtle and indicative.
He pulls her close, inching towards her lips as he kisses her.
“I love you too, Gracie. Thank you for keeping all the secrets safe for me.”
“Your welcome. And… let’s have a baby.”
He chuckles, “Sure.”
A child was born in April, he was pink and so very healthy.
Nick was the happiest man alive as held his first child in his arms.
Gracie was congratulated by Nick’s family, later her parents who were trying to claim the baby as theirs. Gracie and her parents had a rough relationship.
Nick gives the baby to his eldest brother. The most deserving brother to hold his child. Nick turns to his wife who was high with love hormone, a tear rolling down her temple as he wipes it away with his thumb.
“Thank you for everything, my love.”
‘Thank you for showing me that people deserve to be loved.
For letting me feel what love really is.
For giving me the best few months of my life.
And thank you… for choosing to stay with me even after I came out to you.’
Even though Nick couldn’t say those words out from his head, she could still hear him as she says,
“Thank you for choosing to love me, Nick. I love you.
And our little sunshine… Zayn Johnson.”
