Ria’s Apartment.
Ria could be seen parading in front of apartment 304, feeling restless. Since the day Ava and Raymond’s scandal had been cleared, she hadn’t seen Jayden. She wanted to make up with him, and also apologize for misunderstanding and judging his character.
Should I just knock on the door and see how it goes? Ria thought. Taking a deep breath to steady her racing heart, Ria walks towards Jayden’s door. Just as she raised her hand to ring on the doorbell, the door was suddenly flung open.
Ria’s eyes widened in surprise at the sudden appearance of Jayden, who was putting on gray sweatpants with a black T-shirt. His hair was slightly disheveled, giving him a lazy look early in the morning.
Jayden, who was about to go get something from his mailbox, didn’t expect to see Ria in front of the door the moment he opened the door. He was slightly shocked, but he was able to compose himself quickly, unlike Ria, who was still stunned.
“Hey! What are you doing here?” Jayden’s voice came out lazy, but in his mind, he was elated. It has been five days since the issue that causes the misunderstanding between him and Ria was cleared, but he had not seen her.
“Hi.” Ria was slightly nervous as she spoke. She was fidgeting, and her fingers couldn’t help intertwining with each other. She didn’t dare to look into Jayden’s face.
Looking at how nervous she was, Jayden raised an eyebrow, amused at her actions. He could remember how fierce she had been the day she lashed out at him at the park. Seeing how timid she was at the moment, he wanted to tease her, but he controlled himself.
He had to stand his ground and make sure that if something like this happened in the future, she wouldn’t blame him for another person’s mistake.
“Are you coming in or not?” Jayden shifted slightly away from the door, making enough space for her to enter his apartment.
“I’m coming in.” Ria immediately rushed in, seeing the impatience in his face. She knew that she deserved his cold attitude towards her. She was here to make peace and not to get into another fight. “I have something important to say to you.”
Ria walked through the hallway, making her way into his living room. Jayden watches her back as she moves for a brief second, before he tears his gaze off her body and shuts the door. He strolled behind her, forgetting about why he was about to go out earlier.
“Can I sit?” Ria turned around and asked Jayden the moment she entered his living room. Jayden studied her for a brief second before he nodded.
Why is she being reserved around me? Wasn’t she a tigress a few days ago? Jayden thought as he shook his head, before he walked to the sofa opposite her and sat down. When both of them were comfortably seated, Ria’s gaze traveled around the room.
This was the first time she was coming to his place. They have just started dating for two weeks before having a misunderstanding, enabling them to see each other, and talk less of having the opportunity to visit each other.
“What a nice place you have here.” Ria complimented after looking around, breaking the awkward silence between them.
“Thank you.” Jayden’s face was still cold, not giving Ria the impression that he was happy to see her.
“Jayden?” Ria started, her gaze fixed on him. “I’m sorry for judging you wrongly last time. Can you please forgive me?” Ria’s eyes were filled with sincerity, while her fingers were fidgeting, showing how nervous she was.
Looking at her small actions, Jayden almost stood up and pulled her into his embrace, whispering into her ears that it’s fine. He wasn’t angry with her. However, he won’t do that. He had to show her that he was very angry at her childishness, and how unreasonable she was when it comes to Lina.
If he didn’t stand his ground now that they are dating, what would happen when they get married? Would she pack out to judge him for a crime he didn’t commit, just because his friend, Raymond, made some unknown mistake which wasn’t related to him?
After studying her for a few minutes without speaking, Jayden finally broke the silence. “And why should I forgive you just because you apologized? Anyone who doesn’t know how fierce you were to me a few days ago, would think I’m bullying you if they see how pitiful you are at the moment. Are you trying to play the victim with me?”
Ria’s heart sank at his words. She knew he had every right to be angry at her for her stupidity, but she couldn’t be blamed for what happened also. She just loves Lina too much, and was also blinded by perfectionism that a single mistake of the others can become a barrier to her own happiness.
“Jayden,” Ria’s eyes blurred with tears. If the normal tactics of apologizing normally didn’t work, she didn’t mind using her tears as a weapon to make him soften towards her.
Ria’s calculations were on point. The moment Jayden saw the tears in her eyes, his cold face immediately softened. It’s not like he was angry with her. The moment he had seen her at his doorstep, all his anger had long disappeared.
He just wanted her to realize that her world shouldn’t revolve around Lina. He knew how tight the bond between them was, but that doesn’t give her the right to be unreasonable.
“Jayden,” she called again, this time with her tears rolling down her cheeks. Jayden could feel the stinging pain in his heart at the sight of her tears. He instantly stood up from his seat and walked up to her. He stood in front of her for a brief second studying her face, which was raised at the moment, also looking at him with pity.
Jayden doesn’t know what to do with her. He had never comforted a crying woman before. He doesn’t have a sister, and his mother died three years after his birth. He had never interacted with the opposite gender in an emotional way for him to know how to comfort a crying woman.
He stretched out his right hand to her face. Jayden’s index finger ran across her left cheek, wiping away her tears, which seemed to burn his fingers.
“I am sorry for being impulsive a few days ago. I’m sorry for blaming you for what you didn’t do. Can you please forgive me?” Ria sniffed as she sincerely apologize once again.
“Silly girl. Why are you crying?” Jayden sat beside her and pulled her into his arms, patting her back gently.
“I wasn’t angry. The moment I saw you at my doorstep, my anger had long vanished. I just wanted you to realize your mistake, that was why I put up a tough front. Please don’t cry. My heart aches seeing your tears.” Jayden confessed, not minding that Ria would figure out that her tears can get him to do anything for her.
After comforting her for a few minutes, Jane finally stopped crying. After realizing that she has calmed down, Jayden released his arms that were wrapped protectively around her. He gently pulled her out of his embrace.
They both stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds, their nose almost touching. Ria could hear how heavy her heart was pounding in her chest, as she looked at her boyfriend’s handsome face which was just a few inches away from hers. She could feel his hot breath on her skin.
Jayden moved his face closer, making Ria subconsciously close her eyes, awaiting his kiss. Jayden smirks at her actions. Without disappointing her, his mouth moved closer to hers, their lips connected with each other, as they had their first kiss as a couple.
Jaydens left hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer, while the other one moved to her neck, angling her head into a position he can perfectly have access to her sweet lips.
“Hmm,” Ria let out a soft moan the moment jayden squeezed her waist, giving him the best chance to enter his tongue into her mouth.
A few minutes passed as they kissed, savoring each other’s warmth. Ria was already lying on her back on the sofa at the moment, with Jayden towering over her. His lips had started trailing kisses down her neck, his hands not staying idle either as they felt all her curves.
Just when Jayden’s hand found her zipper, a shrill ring of Ria’s phone broke the romantic moment, bringing them back to reality.
Ria froze for a few seconds before pushing Jayden aside. She immediately took her bag which was placed on the small stool beside her, and fished out her phone.
It was a call from her company. That was when it dawned on her that she was having a very important meeting today. She was on her way to the office earlier, but looking across Jayden’s apartment made her forget about her schedule, her legs subconsciously carrying her to his door, leading to the situation they are in.
“Hello, I’m on my way. I will be there in twenty minutes.” Ria hung up the call after giving out her words.
“Jayden, I will see you in the evening. I have a very important meeting at the company today.” Ria stood up and rearranged her clothes, which was almost disheveled due to their earlier actions. Thank goodness, they didn’t go far with their intimacy, if not, she would have had to go back to her apartment to change.
After everything was done, she fished out a small mirror from her bag, reapplied her lipstick, which was already smudged by Jaydens kiss. Jayden stood by the side, watching her series of movements.
“After she was sure that everything was perfect, Ria picked up her bag, and returned the lipstick and the mirror, before walking towards Jayden.
“Will you come to pick me up in the evening?” Ria’s eyes were sparkling, while her lips were slightly swollen from the kiss, even the red fiery lipstick can’t hide them.
Jayden was tempted to pull her into his arms one more time and kiss her senselessly, but he controlled himself, knowing how she was in a hurry to leave.
“Hmm, I will come to pick you up. Just give me a call when you are done at work.”
“Alright,” Ria made her way to the door while she spoke. “I will be on my way then. Have a nice day.” She blew him a kiss before she left his apartment with a big smile on her face. She succeeded in making him forgive her. What she had to deal with next is the work for the day.
