Amara’s POV

Hearing the elevator ding I feel Lucia pull my arm slightly, as we step inside. I listen to everyones footsteps as they get in. A few seconds later I hear the elevator door shut, before I start to feel weightless, as the elevator starts to move.
” So, the game starts in our little apartment?” I ask Dimitri.
I know this is just a hotel he bought, but if he is expecting it to be a long term living situation. Than it would have to be a hotel sweet with a Built-in kitchen, multiple bedrooms, and bathrooms.
Knowing him it has all of the above.
” Yes, it will start in our hotel room. I will also go over all the rules with you, before the game starts. Sadie will be in a different room with Liam and Mary. The goal is to escape by yourself. You try to get Sadie it will be an immediate fail. Which means I will win and you lose.” Dimitri says from somewhere behind me.
I can’t get Sadie.
So, how am I suppose to take her with me?
I was planning on leaving the second I get out of here. Him keeping Sadie in a separate room with Liam makes things complicated for me. Not to mention If I go to get her. I won’t be able to leave that room. Especially with Liam and Mary both being in that room. The last thing I need is Mary drugging me again.
” So, if I escape how am I suppose to get Sadie for when I leave the city?” I question him.
” That is simple, you won’t.” Dimitri suddenly tells me.
What!?
” She is my daughter Dimitri.” I say raising my voice a little.
” She is mine too Amara. Did you forget that I adopted her? Legally she is mine just as much, as she is yours. I would say we could do co-parenting, but we aren’t actually separating. You are trying to run away. Which means even if you do manage to escape today. You will be looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life. You belong too me, and I don’t plan on letting you go.” Dimitri says, as the elevator dings.
So, if I do manage to escape he isn’t actually going to let me be free. He plans on hunting me down. Which would explain why he is being cocky about me still living with him.
I feel Lucia grip on my upper arm tighten, before he pull me a little too fast out of the elevator. I end up stumbling, and tripping over my own feet, before making contact with the cold hard floor.” Careful.” I hear Lucia say into my ear.
” I was being careful. You were the one that was moving a little fast out of the elevator.” I tell him.
” It wasn’t that fast.” Lucia says with a chuckle, as he helps me to my feet.
” Well, it would help if I didn’t have this blindfold over my eyes.” I tell him, as I rub my knees a little.
” I will take the blindfold off once we reach the hotel room.” Lucia says, as he gently pulls me forward.
I thought I was just going to be blindfolded until we got off the elevator. Not until I was inside the hotel room.
Oh, well I guess.
I just hope Dimitri has the floors padded in the room. Sadie likes to climb onto furniture and jump off of it. I don’t want her hurting herself like I just did. Falling on the marble floor back there kinda hurt.
” I hope the room is padded incase Sadie falls!” I say loudly in hopes Dimitri will hear me.
” I already have that covered!” I hear Dimitri call out from somewhere infront of me.
” He bought her a bouncy house to play inside. So, she can jump and climb all she wants. There is even a bouncy house inside mine and Liam room for her to play in, for when we are babysitting her.” Lucia informs me in a happy tone.
A bouncy house!
” A bouncy house! Inside a hotel room? We will get a lot of complaints from those that are sleeping or renting below us.” I tell him in a angry whisper.
Lucia chuckles, ” That won’t be an issue. Dimitri bought the two floors below us. So, only our men and servants will be living on those levels. He even had the floors, and walls redone with more insulation, so no one will be bothered by loud noises.”
He already did all of that for Sadie?
” So, we are really going to live at this place for now on?” I question him.
” Yes, this will be our permanent residence for now on. At least until we have to move again for some unknown reason, but I don’t see that happening for awhile.” Lucia says, as I bump into him.
I hear him let out another chuckle, ” Sorry, I forgot you had that blindfold on. We are standing infront of yours and Dimitri’s room.” He says, as I hear Sadie whine a little.
” You can see this room later, for now you are going with Liam and Mary.” Dimitri tells her in a soft tone.
” No!” I hear her whine.
” We have a surprise for you.” I hear Liam tell her.
” Wut?” Sadie asked him.
” You have to come with me to see it.” Liam tells her.
I feel the blindfold start to loosen before it is taken off. I blink a few times for my eyes to adjust to the light. I than rub my eyes for a few seconds, before staring at Dimitri and Sadie.
Sadie was clenching onto Dimitri jacket, and shakes her head, ” No!” She tells Liam, as she buries her face into Dimitri’s chest.
” Just let her explore our room. That way when the game starts. You can take her too Liam and Mary’s place.” I suggest to him.
He did ask her if she wanted to see our new home. So, he can’t get mad at her for throwing a fit, and not wanting to go with Liam at this moment.
Dimitri’s stares at me before letting out a sigh, ” Fine, we can do that.” He says to me, before looking at Liam. ” Go get your place ready for Sadie.” He tells him.
I watch Liam nod,” I will do that. I just need to go downstairs to the lobby first to get snacks and drinks.” Liam says and smiles at Sadie. ” Be good little one. I love you.” He tells her.
I watch Sadie peeks out from Dimitri’s chest, ” Wove you.” She says back in low tone.
” What about me?” Lucia asked Sadie with a sad look on his face.
Sadie cracks a small smile at him, ” Wove you!” She tells him happily.
” She got excited for you, but barely whispered it too me.” Liam says in a jealous tone, as he starts to walk away.
Lucia chuckles, ” Don’t be jealous.” He tells Liam, as he follows him down the hallway.
I watch Lucia and Liam walk up too the elevator, before hearing the sound of a door clicking open. Feeling a hand on my lower back, I turn my head to see the young man from earlier was still standing with us.
No wonder Lucia went with Liam. He knew that Ryan would make sure I didn’t take off.
Ryan gives me a gentle push into the room. Once inside I hear the door shut behind me. Turning around I realized that Ryan didn’t come into the room with us.
” He is going to guard the door for a bit. While me and you have a talk.” Dimitri tell me.
Turning back around I watch Dimitri carry Sadie over to the bouncy house. Sadie screams happily, and kicks her little feet in the air, as Dimitri slowly sets her down at the entrance. I watch her crawl between the two black nets to get inside.
The bouncy house was a huge pink and purple castle with two floors on it. The second floor of the bounce house had little rubber seats, and a mini television hanging on the wall, with a few stuffed toys lined up against the right side of the bouncy house.
” How exactly is she suppose to get up top? Or even turn that tv on?” I question him.
” There is a little rubber staircase in this corner.” Dimitri says gesturing to the left side of the bouncy house. ” It is perfectly safe for her to climb up on her own. As for the television.” He says walking past the bouncy house, and take a remote off the coffee table.
I watch him press a button on the remote, causing the television inside the bouncy house to turn on. ” It comes with a remote. I put a green sticker on the bottom of it to keep this remote from getting mixed up with our remotes.” He adds
Looks like he has everything planned out for our living situation. I just wonder if he has everything planned out for this game.
Taking a seat on the couch I cross my arms over my chest, ” So, you have our living situation planned out. Now let’s hear about these rules you have for our game.” I say with a bit of an attitude wanting to get to the point.
I watch a smirk go across his face, and instantly feel a chill go down my spine.
This game must have a messed up twist. I realized on the elevator that playing this game is pointless. Especially since I do not plan on giving him full custody of Sadie. I just want to see if I can actually escape from him.
