They were treating her like a servant.
Callie tried to calm herself. She steadied her emotions and prepared to leave, but just then, the door to the private room was forcefully pushed open, flooding the room with light.
A group of bodyguards rushed in to clear the area. “Don’t move!”
The rich heirs instinctively put their hands on their heads and crouched down.
Callie squinted and saw an elegant and very noble woman walking in from the end of the corridor.
It was Sienna.
She stood still, her voice not loud but very commanding. “I don’t want any trouble. All of you, get out.”
The group glanced at Marilyn, who was lying on the sofa in a drunken stupor, and scattered like birds and beasts.
The matriarch of the Ellison family had come to clear the scene herself; this was serious.
Before Sienna could look her way, Callie turned her head, took out a mask, and put it on. She then took out her phone, opened the camera, and placed it in her chest pocket.
She cleared her throat, making her voice hoarse. “Do you need any cleaning?”
Sienna glanced at her, noticing nothing unusual. “Take out her syringe.”
Callie nodded, walked over to Marilyn, removed the syringe, and carefully packed everything away with professional precision. She had seen people do this in Dragon City before.
Marilyn was not fully conscious. She opened her eyes hazily and smiled. “Mother, you’re here…”
Sienna frowned and threw a coat over her. Her voice was cold. “How long has it been?”
Marilyn clung to her arm coquettishly. “I thought you had forgotten about me, only caring about Maevelyn.”
“I asked you how long!” Sienna pushed her away and slapped her hard across the face, furious.
Marilyn winced in pain and gradually became more alert. She looked at Sienna, whose chest was heaving with anger. “… Who told you I was here?”
Sienna looked at her without speaking.
Marilyn started shouting. “Was it Maevelyn, that little bitch!”
“Slap!” Another slap landed on Marilyn’s face, drawing blood from the corner of her mouth. Sienna did not hold back. “I think you’ve gone mad. If your father finds out about this, you’ll be dead.”
Marilyn covered her face, breathing deeply, her eyes fierce. “If it weren’t for you all, I would have died long ago. Why stay in this world to suffer!”
Sienna’s hand trembled as she pointed to the items Callie had packed away. “Did Jaquan provide these for you?”
Marilyn wiped her mouth. “I asked for them myself.”
Tears welled up in Sienna’s eyes as she roared, “Why!”
“Why don’t you know, my dear mother?” Marilyn looked like a wilting rose. She shouted, “You’ve worked so hard to keep it a secret all these years. What do you think Isaac will do when he finds out we are not your biological children?”
Callie was stunned by the unexpected news.
What? Marilyn and Isaac are not biological…
Marilyn laughed. “Will he end up like me?”
Sienna trembled all over. “What nonsense are you spouting?”
“Stop pretending. I’ve done a DNA test.” Marilyn leaned back and lit a cigarette. “No wonder Father never wanted to hand over power to me; it’s because of this.”
Her certainty left Sienna unable to refute. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say, and the room fell into silence.
“Mother, I finally understand why you went to such lengths to find Maevelyn even though you had us. It’s because Maevelyn is your only child.”
Marilyn’s eyes were filled with disdain and self-mockery.
Callie’s hands trembled uncontrollably as she packed up the items. She forced herself to stay calm.
