“From what I can tell, they’re after you, Seth.”
Chris linked his fingers. It was not without reason that he could conclude such a thing. Given that the cases of attacking the Alphas in several major countries left traces. He found out that the ones who attacked them were rogues.
“Why did you come to that conclusion?”
“I read some cases that happened hundreds of years ago, based on your grandfather’s description. One of those caught mentioned your grandfather and Red Crescent Moon. Be careful.”
Seth read the file Chris had given him. He analysed the information one by one. He found the descriptions of the Alphas from various countries who were victims of the massacre about 200 years ago. He also saw the names of his grandfather and Red Crescent Moon mentioned in the chronological details of the coup carried out by his grandfather.
Seth read the testimony of his grandfather, who was a witness to the forbidden ritual, but he could not look into the details of the type of ritual performed. Seth exhaled his breath roughly. He still had to find more accurate information.
He spent two hours in Chris’s study looking for that information. Unsuccessful and even more sleepy, Seth decided to rest. He could start again tomorrow.
“I want to rest first, dad.”
“Yes. I’m also going to interrogate that rogue. He still won’t talk.”
“Good luck, dad.”
Seth left Chris’s study for the guest room. He had to walk down a long corridor and down an alabaster spiral staircase to get to the guest room. He sent warriors representing packs around the world to work for the Idris Council under his father’s leadership.
Everything was well under control after Matthieu’s fall. Only the problem with Rogue was beginning to concern his father. Seth heard his father’s explanation about the attack on the Alphas having the same modus operandi as the massacre of the Alphas 200 years ago.
Seth felt there was something odd about his grandfather’s statement as a witness to his coup. The motive of the forbidden ritual was still a mystery to him, as if the information was covered up by his grandfather.

“There’s nothing I can find in this part, dad.”
“Your grandfather never wanted to tell me about it.”
“I guess I should put this aside. Edith just texted me that Julie attacked Liam. She said it was like Julie was possessed by a spirit witch who told her she had to kill a werewolf named Vincentius. I have to go back to Surrey.”
“So be it.”
Seth closed the file that he had just read. He decided to take care of the matter at Red Crescent Moon first since it concerned his daughter. It was already the second time his daughter had attacked Liam for no reason; he had to act before it was too late.
He took a flight as fast as she could to get to England. With the details of the story that Edith had told him about Julie, Seth assumed that the problem was more serious than he had imagined.
During the hour and a half Seth was on the plane, he thought about how Red Crescent Moon was doing. Jadden also added that Liam was doing better after almost running out of breath from being strangled by Julie.
‘What actually took place?’
Seth kept thinking about Julie to the point that he forgot to tell Edith that he was going home tonight. When he arrived at the packhouse gate, the warriors bowed respectfully and greeted him. Likewise, when in the great hall, two werewolf warriors who were playing chess immediately stood up and bowed their bodies.
Seth intended to go to his study first before going into his room. He saw Julian and Julie sneaking towards his study. Seth was curious about his two children,, who looked suspicious. He followed them with slow, silent steps, keeping his distance so they wouldn’t feel like they were being watched.
Seth looked through the slit in the door that he had left open with one foot. He watched as Julie’s hand swung through the air and the spell she cast. A second later, he saw his vault open.
Seth smiled wryly, waiting for his two children from behind the door. Julian grabbed the bottle of shiny purple liquid and pocketed it in his trousers.
“Quick, lock it again, Jules!” demanded Julian in a stifled voice.
“Wait a minute, I don’t feel good,” Julie said, frowning.
“OH SHIT! DAD…” swore Julian as he turned round.
“May I know what you’re going to do with that, Julian?”
“I… I…”
Julie sighed. She became trembling and bit her lip. It was certain that she would be blamed for stealing an object that minors like Julian and herself were forbidden to touch.
“Can you answer my question, Julie?”
Julie glanced at Julian. Both of their bodies were already pressed up against the cupboard behind her. She didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t possibly betray her own brother by telling Seth what they were doing.
“Sorry, dad, I can’t. Julian, just answer quickly.”
“Sorry, dad, I had to do it. I wanted to take down one of the annoying kids at school. I had a duel with him, and I lost. I asked for a rematch, and I need this monkhood.”
“Why do you find him annoying?” asked Seth as he approached the two.
“He bullies… Kyra. I’m just defending him.”
Seth looked deeply into Julian’s differently coloured eyes. He searched for answers through his gaze, then smiled wryly.
“No more than three drops, or he’ll be completely paralysed. Give it back to me when you’re done using it, and I’ll still punish you for stealing. You too, Julie, should have let him do it himself instead of misusing your abilities.”
“Thanks, dad. I’ll return it right away.”
Seth looked straight at Julian and said, “I grounded you for cleaning the gym every Tuesday and Thursday. Julie, you have to help Aunty Jen look after her son while she trains the young she-wolves. Do you understand?”
“We understand, dad.”
“You guys go back to your rooms. It’s getting late.”
Seth watched his two children leave the room. He closed the cupboard and locked it again. Remembering what happened earlier almost made him angry, but Seth reflected on himself. He was once their age and stole Chris’s car keys, just to look good in front of a girl.
Seth tugged at the corner of his lips, chuckling to himself as he walked towards the bookshelf. He picked up one of the books he was going to read before going to bed, finding out about information related to the events 150 years ago from the journal Red Crescent Moon.
He switched off the light and walked out of his workroom, heading towards his room. Inside the room, he saw that Edith was fast asleep on her side. Truly, by the Moon Goddess, he missed Edith so much, and when he saw her calm face like now, his heart calmed down.
“You just got home, Seth?”
