The False Witch

“Interesting.”
Mikael intertwined his fingers with a grin. He looked at the photographic evidence scattered on his desk. It was his duty to maintain the existence of the vampire clan in this world. As the natural enemies of the werewolf race, they had to increase their strengths and reduce their weaknesses.
Becoming a daywalker had been the vampire clan leader’s dream even before his reign, 500 years ago. The previous vampire clan leader had always used Veela blood to walk during the day.
And after his Elite Hunters searched for Kai’s whereabouts, he got some very unexpected news. Luna had a tribrid daughter, and it was certain that her blood would be very useful to the vampire clan as she possessed the powers of the three supernatural beings on earth.
Mikael targeted Luna’s daughter to strengthen the vampire clan and become superior among the other nations. The passion bubbling inside him was then broken by a letter delivered by a stocky woman. Her breath caught in her throat after she successfully handed the letter into Mikael’s hands.
“You stupid human!”
“Excuse me, My Lord.”
Mikael waved his hand in the air to shoo the woman away. He flipped through the envelope and then opened it. There was no sender’s name, but the handwriting on the letter was short and clear.
He growled angrily and crumpled the letter. He already knew who the sender was from the trail it left behind. If it were a werewolf, they would do it by carrying the victim’s body parts to threaten. If it was a vampire, then the perpetrator would mark it with the victim’s heart being ripped out of the chest cavity.
This is definitely a witch. They never leave the scent of animals like wolves or blood like vampires. A witch would mark herself with a cheap letter, like the one just thrown on the marble floor in front of her.
“How dare that filthy, lowly creature threaten me!”
Mikael clenched his hands into fists until his knuckles turned white. His anger was almost at its limit. He also still remembered the time Katarina made his body stiff, and it had angered him greatly.
“That witch hates werewolves. The enemy of her enemy is our friend, Mikael.”
Sabine whispered in Mikael’s ear and hugged him from behind. Her gentle touch made his anger instantly subside. Mikael caressed her pale and gaunt face, looking at her longingly. Sabine had always been by his side after she let herself be bitten by Mikael to turn into a vampire.
“Mon amour. You have always reassured my burning heart.”
“You always make my heart so light as cotton that it can easily soar,” Sabine replied with an adoring look at Mikael.
“Did you study literature while you were alive?”
“How do you know?”
“Your words sound sweet.” Mikael kissed Sabine’s forehead and brought her onto his lap.
They kissed passionately, lapping at each other’s lips in the blink of an eye. Their bodies disappeared, leaving a void in the silver-coloured chair with intricate carvings on the edge.

“Warrior Kai, the first task for you is to send this letter to my father. Once you arrive in France, you will get legitimization from him and bring it back to me.”
Seth handed Kai a scroll of letters. He gave him the assignment after Kai and Alexandra legally became members of their pack last week.
“It’s different now, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, the Idris Council is more complicated this time. Every werewolf has their status recorded and registered, even for Rogues.”
“Cool! I’ll go first, Alpha Seth.”
Kai disappeared in the blink of an eye. Seth returned his attention to the letter sent by Eva. In the letter, Eva was suspicious of one of the witches, who had been absent for the past two months. Seth was surprised by the name mentioned in the letter.
From the attachment of the letter sent by Eva, Seth was able to find out that Imogen Pearson had died one day before her visit to Venezia with Edith. So many puzzles filled Seth’s head. Witches, with all their tricks, were almost untouchable creatures.
He also remembered that he had once given a gem to Imogen. Seth pondered the possibilities of who exactly was impersonating Imogen and for what purpose.
“Your face looks tense, baby. A glass of warm jasmine tea will hopefully dispel the look of tension on your face.”
Seth straightened his face. He did not realise that Edith had entered his room. She was already beside him and placed a cup of warm drink on the table.
“Do you remember Imogen, the necromancy witch we met in Venice? He is not the real Imogen. Eva confirmed it with this letter.”
“By the Moon Goddess, is this a bad sign?”
“Unfortunately yes. I regret giving him the gem. We have been marked by him already. He planned this beforehand.”
Edith rubbed Seth’s shoulders gently, hoping that her treatment would calm Seth down from the tension.
“You don’t know, and we all don’t know. You don’t have to blame yourself, Seth. Witches are always like that, except Eva; she’s on our side with all her soul.”
Seth exhaled harshly. He still could not believe what this was all about. Since he became an Alpha, so much trouble has hit him.
“Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve to be your Alpha. Too much trouble has happened to this pack.”
“Please don’t feel down about yourself like that. You’re a great Alpha. History is etched with your name in the monomachia fight against Matthieu. You fought against injustice.”
Edith encouraged Seth, who was feeling down. Every being must feel insecure at certain times, and that is normal. Edith, who acted as Luna for Seth, was obliged to always accompany the Alpha under any circumstances.
Both of them were startled by the sound of the door being kicked open, revealing Jen with a panicked and frightened expression. She bowed her body briefly and said, “Alpha Seth, Luna Edith, I’m sorry. Juliette, she overwhelmed Liam.”
Seth immediately stood up and took a black box from his desk drawer. Edith immediately moved, with her vampire speed, to the backyard to see what had happened.
She saw Julie standing with threads coming out of her body. Her eyes were closed, but her arms were stretched forward, right towards Liam, who was cowering on the ground. A weak purr sounded from the wolf.
Seth arrived on the scene and immediately injected the long, glowing object right into his daughter’s neck. The threads that came out of her body gradually re-entered the child’s body and made Julie droop to the ground.
Seth immediately picked up Julie’s body and brought her into the house, while Edith approached Liam and immediately channelled her healing energy into the wolf. A few minutes later, the wolf’s body shifted into human form.
“Thank you, Luna.”
“What exactly happened, Liam?”
