The Supreme Alpha

“It appears that she is that way. Luna’s eyes make me want to rip them out so terribly that I feel like she wants to skin me alive, Seth. While dancing with Seth, Edith chattered constantly, “Huh, how can there be such a person?”
The werewolf representatives from all packs throughout the world were in a tense situation, but the waltz music covered it up. Some werewolves became loyal devotees of the Supreme Alpha as a result of the annual meeting that the Supreme Alpha organised.
Seth had the goal of fueling the Supreme Alpha’s anger with the psywar he was about to start. He was already too disenchanted with all of Matthieu’s actions, which were very demeaning to his father.
“Do you have any idea, baby? My father used to be mated to Luna, but my father soon claimed my mother as his mate because Luna Ginette was too haughty. She also had an affair with Matthieu just before their arranged date night. Of course that infuriated my father; he didn’t want Ginette to set a negative precedent that would weaken the pack.”
“So why is she looking at me like that? Even now, her gaze is fixed on me,” asked Edith in surprise.
“You’re very beautiful tonight, and for her, it’s an insult to the host to have her aura covered by you, baby.”
“You’re bloody kidding me! She just doesn’t believe in herself. She’s prettier than all the Luna’s here.”
“But she’s getting old, while you’re much younger than her. Let’s put her to the test; she’ll growl, and her face will turn purple from holding back her anger. She is jealous of you!”
Seth removed his hand from Edith and walked towards the band in the corner of the room. Edith heard the music turn upbeat. When Seth was in front of her again, she felt his hand in hers and heard a whisper, “Trust me, you just have to keep up!”
Latin music blared in the great hall where the Alphas and their Luna had already moved to make room for the Alpha and Luna couple from Red Crescent Moon to tango.
Seth opened each step confidently, followed by Edith, who occasionally linked her thighs to the beat of the music. Both of them were being watched by many pairs of eyes in the room, not to mention Luna Ginette, whose face had already turned annoyed with the anger building up in her chest.
“You did all this just to upset the couple?” asked Edith as she pressed her face against Seth’s neck.
“Not really; I really wanted to dance with you. If they get annoyed, that’s even better; I’m sick of being underestimated all the time. After this, they’ll probably find issues with me.”
“Then what are you going to do?”
“I’ll challenge them. Yesterday, I may have been silent, but after you return, my strength will be more perfect. I’ve been waiting for that moment, and I will win. Matthieu is just a cowardly and stupid wolf. My father should be the Supreme Alpha, not that old fart!”
“What should I do?” asked Edith for the last time.
“You just have to stick with me until the end, because your Alpha is a tough wolf who will become weak if he loses his Luna!”
Seth had already captured Edith’s lips for the finale of their dance. The hot and passionate kiss after dancing with sweat all over them both made Seth more confident, and then he grinned at the Supreme Alpha and his mate.
Not long after, two burly figures approached both of them. One of them whispered to Seth and was greeted with a nod from him. Seth and Edith walked after the two figures away from the great hall across the corridor until they arrived in front of a door.
“It’s true what I said, isn’t it?” said Seth.
Edith nodded slowly. She left all matters to Seth when it came to the werewolf’s interests, but she would not stay silent if things turned bad. She understood Seth’s code of restraint.
They were already sitting on the sofa in what looked like Alpha’s workroom. Across from them, Luna Ginette was staring at Edith without blinking. The atmosphere became tense when the Supreme Alpha came from another room through the door behind his desk.
“Good evening, Alpha Seth! How are you?” greeted Matthieu and sat down next to Ginette.
“The Moon Goddess is still blessing us all.”
“Yeah, I can see that. You guys danced so vigorously earlier!” chimed in Ginette, still not taking her gaze off Edith.
“I think you have a strong interest in my mate, right, Luna Ginette?”
Seth managed to get Ginette’s attention. The woman was now staring at him with a haughty look, as if Seth’s words did not describe her at the moment. Ginette snorted softly and said, “I wonder how fairy dust can make a werewolf crush on you?”
Edith smiled; she already knew from Seth how Ginette was and how to deal with her every quip.
“I think it’s because fairy dust is more fragrant than werewolf pheromones. I have no idea how I did it. Seth said he really liked it, so I tried to stay by his side.”
Seth lit up after hearing Edith’s answer. There were no lies, and Edith could handle it very well. Ginette only smiled wryly after Edith successfully answered her insinuation.
“And actually, fairies and Veela are much different. The only thing we have in common is that we rely so much on nature,” Edith added.
“How is your father, Alpha Seth?” This time, Matthieu asked to break the tension between the two Lunas.
“I’ll visit him tomorrow. You get top priority from me because I came to your party first instead of seeing my own father, Alpha.”
“Ah, I’m flattered to hear that. Yesterday, I heard that one of the prisoners was about to escape, and your father had to work hard to subdue him. Chris is indeed inexperienced in dealing with class 5 witches. Your father almost lost his hand.”
Seth growled and clenched his fists. Edith immediately grasped his hand and tried to calm Seth, who was about to be provoked by Matthieu’s words.
“Sorry to interrupt; I heard that you were also rumoured to be the topic of conversation on one of the dance floors. You once faced difficulties when fighting against a rogue from the Alps. You lost your thumb because the rogue performed an unpredictable fighting trick; is that true? I can hardly believe it considering Supreme Alpha must be a very powerful werewolf.”
Matthieu gulped down his saliva. He was both shocked and annoyed that Edith managed to shut him up with one of his pasts. Seth felt proud that Edith could pull off such a knockback. The Supreme Alpha deserved it.
“How presumptuous of you!” screeched Ginette.
She had already risen from her seat with her index finger pointed at Edith’s face. Edith just put on a straight face and ignored Luna. She was still trying to restrain her emotions.
“I apologise for speaking out. Maybe I shouldn’t listen to their gossip. Luna.”
“It’s okay, Ginette. Luna Edith was polite enough to talk about my past, and she apologised too. There’s no need to bring it up again!”
“Why are you staying silent, Matthieu? She insulted you.”
Matthieu came to stand next to Ginette. He held Luna’s hand to keep her calm. His face turned cold when he looked at his wife. With a single growl from him, Luna finally sat back on the sofa and pulled his hand away roughly.
“You can leave this room already!” said Matthieu.
