Edith opened the car door. Behind her, Seth followed and immediately grabbed Edith’s waist to get closer to her. They both entered the school area where every pair of eyes were looking at them.
“Are you comfortable?” said Seth who was looking at Edith, waiting for her answer.
“I’m not sure, everyone is staring at us.”
Seth just chuckled. He even tightened his hands around Edith’s waist. Suddenly Seth’s act made all pairs of eyes around them become fixated on them. Compared to Seth who ignored the whispers of the female students, Edith lowered her head to avoid their gaze.
Once they arrived in front of Edith’s class, Seth removed his hand from her waist. Edith felt the touch of Seth’s hand that was cupping her face. Seth did not want to waste the opportunity and whispered, “I have to go to class, but before that I want to kiss you first.”
Seth kissed Edith, deeply. Seth pulled his face back after he heard a deafening sound from behind them. Seth rolled his eyes lazily and looked uneasily at Jadden who was already standing behind Edith.
“Oops, sorry. I just wanted to say that you were called to the principal’s office. Can I ask you a favour Edith?” Jadden turned his gaze to Edith.
“If I can, what should I do?”
“Get Seth to stop being so annoying. He was called out by Principal Lucien for fighting with his son in the backyard of the school yesterday. His ribs were fractured after Seth slammed him into the wall. I promised his mother to keep him out of trouble, but he keeps making a fuss.”
Edith’s eyes widened upon hearing Jadden’s confession. Edith sighed harshly and looked sharply at Seth, who stood with his back against the wall. He pretended not to hear their conversation.
“I want to know why, Seth Mckirby?”
Seth explains to Edith why he fought with Peter. Seth was enraged because he overheard Peter mocking Edith on his way to the cafeteria. He immediately dragged Peter to the backyard and beat him up.
When his actions were reported by a few students who saw their fight, Seth only snorted softly. He just grinned slightly and then left Edith in front of her class. Edith, who saw Seth’s behaviour, could only take a deep breath and accept it.
From behind her, Edith felt a hand tap her on the shoulder. When Edith turned around, she saw Kai standing with a friendly smile on his face. The man raised his hand and gave Edith a small wave.
“Hello. Edith. Are you ready for today’s biology practical: cell division? We’re in the same group, right?”
“Oh yes, I remember. How’s your day, Kai?”
“Pretty good. Is he your boyfriend?”
“Yes, he is.”
Arriving at the class, they took their places in the second row from the front of the room. Edith pulled out a stool for herself and took out a book to note down the outcome of the observations during this practice.
“Can I take a look first?”
“Go ahead; I’ll note down what you’ve observed.”
Kai moved the microscope closer to him and picked up the preparation tweezers. He placed the preparation on the microscope table and observed it with one eye. After a few seconds, he said, “Prophase.”
“Okay, prophase. After this, we take turns observing it, Kai,” Edith replied.
“Sure. Can I ask you something personal?” Kai asked.
“What is it?” Edith answered him with another question.
“Do you love your boyfriend?”
Edith straightened her head and looked at Kai. She felt strange when she heard Kai’s question directed at her.
“Why are you asking me that?”
“I just think it’s strange. A while ago, you called him your friend, and I saw you being cold to him. I sensed that something was going on between you. I’m sorry if I interfered too much, but I consider you my friend.”
“I don’t think we need to discuss this, Kai. I also consider you my friend, but I don’t like discussing my personal life with others. I’m sorry if my words offended you too much.”
“Alright, I understand, but don’t hesitate to ask for my help if you have a problem. Whatever it is, like the rumours about ou, I think they’re just a bit jealous of you.”
“You heard it?”
“Yeah, don’t worry about it too much. I’ll be ready to defend you and even fight with them if they get too mean.”
“Hahaha… I have another knight in this school. No need; they’re all afraid of Seth already.”
Kai smiled. He was already one step ahead of winning Edith’s heart. Edith already considered him a friend, and that was a good start to owning her heart. He smelled the pheromone scent coming from Edith’s body. He felt a flutter from inside his body that made him tremble.
“Kai, your eye colour has changed. Are you okay?”
Edith saw Kai’s eye colour turn red. She could clearly see that Kai’s body was trembling, just like Seth, who was enduring pain, just like when he wanted Edith. A sense of worry settled in her head as she saw Kai groaning in pain.
“Kai, you better ask permission to go to the infirmary. You look like a mess. Come on, I’ll help you.”
Edith asked the biology teacher for permission to take Kai to the infirmary. She pulled Kai’s hand onto her shoulder and carried Kai’s to leave the classroom.
Arriving at the infirmary, Edith laid Kai’s on one of the gurneys. She felt Kai’s body was very cold when she carried him earlier, but Edith also felt confused. She saw the sweat oozing from the guy’s body.
Edith didn’t know what to do. She didn’t see any doctor in this room. She paced the room looking for something that could be used to relieve the pain because Kai kept moaning in pain.
“Kai, what’s wrong with you? What should I do?”
“Do you know that I’m a werewolf?”
“Yes, of course I know you’re a werewolf. Abberforth is a special school for werewolves.”
“This is part of the heating. I want you Edith.”

Seth became agitated, his mind constantly hooked on the man. Until a basketball hit his head hard and woke him up.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you, Seth? You made them get 15 points.”
“That was awful noisy. I’m done. You’re getting on my nerves, Jadden.”
“I just want to win, am I wrong?” muttered Jadden as he watched Seth leave the field.
Seth grabbed a water bottle from the cooler at the side of the field. The thought of that man pissed him off to no end. He sat down as he took a sip of water from the bottle he was holding.
Something hit his sense of smell, he recognised this scent. The pheromone from Edith’s had drawn him to turn his gaze to the other side of the field. Seth saw Edith was carrying someone.
Seth recognised the man and saw a yellow aura emanating from his body. Seth knew the guy was in pain from the heating process and the guy was holding him up. Seth hurried to follow the both of them who were walking towards the infirmary.
When he arrived at the door of the infirmary where the two were, Seth heard the conversation from them and it made him very angry. He wanted to kill that man right now.
