Crazy Little Thing Called Love

She had recently heard that Seth would not touch her without her permission, or perhaps Edith might have assumed that Seth was trying to show his good intentions in an effort to make things better. Edith could sense his earnestness as he kissed her forehead.
Because there would be no conflict between them, each option would sound better. Throughout her pregnancy, Edith wanted to foster a positive atmosphere because she was sick of their frequent squabbling.
Edith suddenly remembered the black wolf she had previously encountered in the woods. The wolf was built similarly to Seth. It couldn’t have been that enormous if it had been an ordinary wolf.
“Seth, did that black wolf I saw look like you too?” asked Edith.
“Yes.”
“Did you recognise him?”
“No.”
“Do wolves prey on humans?”
Seth chuckled. The man laughed so hard at Edith’s query that he even covered his lips. Edith scowled while believing her remarks to be accurate.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to mock you. Just because your inquiry is so hilarious. Only in fiction are there werewolves that feed on humans. Edith, we don’t prey on people. Animals are still our prey. However, there have been cases of werewolves attacking people. It occurs because they have lost touch with their human side, usually as a result of spending too much time in their wolf form.”
“How come that? Are you not free to shift your shape whenever you please?
“Werewolves that are apart from their pack for an extended period of time may either turn wild and uncontrollable, or it could be because there are no humans around. Yes, we can shift at any time.”
“Does it hurt?”
“The first time, it did, but I got used to it afterward.”
Edith remained quiet. The werewolves she had seen in the movie turned out to be fiction. To make the movie engaging and interesting, suspense has been incorporated.
“Does that black wolf intend to harm me?”
“I’m not sure. I saw him trying to attack you, and I stopped him. He wasn’t a wolf from my pack; therefore, I couldn’t read his mind.”
She was saved by Seth. Edith might have been a headless body that the local police would have discovered the next day. Her life was owed to Seth. However, Edith was currently more preoccupied with the werewolf ability Seth had just stated. Edith was intrigued by these werewolf matters.
“You guys are able to read minds?”
“Yes. It is known as mind-link. We can only do this for other wolves in the pack; otherwise, we can’t. You appear to be intrigued by the werewolf characteristic.”
Edith had made a mistake in her speech! She was implying that she was interested in something. Even if it was only in her nature, Edith started acting mischievous since she didn’t want Seth to get something from her.
“No, I’m fine. Anyway, I agreed to stay here when your parents offered. Do your parents know that we don’t get along?
Edith affirmed the direction of her inquiry. Before the occurrence that evening, they weren’t very close and weren’t having any issues. Although Edith was aware of Seth’s annoyance, she had never before felt uncomfortable around him. And he hadn’t either; at least that was what Edith was aware of.
“I’m not sure.”
“How did you explain it to them?”
“You’re my girlfriend, and I purposefully had sex with you.”
“For God’s sake, Are you insane? How could you address them in such a manner?”
Edith almost shouted to response Seth’s answer. Edith thought that Seth was almost out of his mind for telling her parents something so obvious. Edith tries to be patient with Seth’s behaviour, which is always at his own pace.
“It is more similar to falling in love. Werewolves go insane when they receive imprints. Additionally, I don’t like taking half measures; therefore, I’m all in. I added that you had imprinted themselves on me. Triplets in one! A pack of werewolves will honour their imprint mate.”
“And just what does that mean?”
“I want to be near you, and I want you to be mine.”
“Unfortunately, I’m not interested. Let me be clear: This child is the reason I have a relationship with you. No sentiments will exist for the remainder,” Edith insisted.
“Then what was the significance of that kiss exactly?” Seth grinned.
She’s dead!
Edith wouldn’t have time to respond to that question since she’d prefer to be hit by lightning or drop from a tremendous height. Edith was embarrassing herself. It would be a terribly foolish excuse to lie if she responded that it had no meaning for her.
“Whatever. There is no need to mention it again. I’m going to bed now.”
To change, Edith made her way to the wardrobe. She had just realised she was without clothes. She simply stood there and gazed at the items in the wardrobe that she had unlocked. Only Seth’s clothing, which was unquestionably larger than her size, was present.
As Seth was closing the window, Edith turned around and glanced at him. After abruptly ending the conversation, Edith wasn’t sure how to resume it. She appeared foolish as she turned her attention back and forth between Seth and the wardrobe. Edith made the choice to wait until Seth gave her a look.
When Edith turned around and stared at him without saying anything, Seth saw her. If it wasn’t too crucial, it piqued his attention because Edith had never before glanced at him. “What’s wrong with you, Edith?” asked Seth.
“I need some borrowed clothing so I can change. Would you mind lending me one? I’ll return it the next day after I wash it.”
Seth grinned as he passed Edith. He gave Edith a t-shirt and shorts that he had taken out of his closet. Again, Seth exclaimed, “I really love you like this, Edith.”
Edith’s eyes grew wide. Even she wasn’t sure what the guy was getting at. What did he imagine she looked like? Edith lowered her head and examined herself and her outfit. Nothing was wrong with her. She had been wearing the same clothes all day, so it was understandable that they appeared wrinkled.
Edith was unwilling to bother. When she wanted to change her clothes, her focus was diverted when she remembered what Seth had said about her. When Edith tried to enter the bathroom, she was surprised to find that it was locked.
“What’s up with the door, Seth?”
“It’s most likely broken again.”
“Again?”
“Yes.”
“Are you making fun of me?”
“You always have negative thoughts about me. I rarely use it because the door is frequently broken.”
“Where should I go to get dressed? Which toilet do you usually use?”
“The toilet is in the next room.”
Edith was about to leave the room when her movements were paused. “The room is locked, and only my parents have the key. At this moment, my parents are in France.”
“What if you need to go to the toilet then?”
“I may shift into a wolf and leave this house.”
“Shit! Seth, could you step out of this room for a moment? I need to change my clothes.”
“Do you really need to curse that much?” Seth raised his brow.
“Sorry. Seth, will you kindly exit for a moment? I must change into new clothes. Edith was hissing in displeasure at the man already.
“It would be my pleasure, but being in my room would be pleasant. I’ve already seen you without clothes!”
How could Edith have to live with someone who was so annoying?
Her displeasure was cut short by a rumbling in her stomach. Edith had the impression that her belly was protesting all of her discomfort. Sure enough, she felt that bounce in her belly once more.
“Ouch.”
“Edith, what’s wrong with you?”
“My belly hurts.”
Seth swiftly approached Edith. He observed Edith holding her stomach. He immediately carried Edith to the bed.
“Let’s take a seat first.”
“Is what Dr. Ashley said about you talking to him more frequently true?” Edith asked.
“Want to try? Could I touch your belly?”
Edith gave a nod. In fact, Edith was going to let Seth touch her belly as well, but she forgot because she was preoccupied with other conversations. Seth thought over the possibility, and his face appeared to be thinking as well.
“Hey, baby Julian. I’m your dad. You getting better at kicking, right little wolf?”
“Julian?” Edith furrowed her brow.
Seth put his forefinger in his mouth to keep Edith quiet. He continued, “We can do that when you’re born. Now be good to your mum; she needs to rest right now, okay?”
“Seth, he… stop.”
“Really?”
