Chapter 617: A Villa Worth Ten Million Dollars

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2025-3-6

As the scene unfolded, the once arrogant and domineering aura began to dissipate, retreating into nothingness.
What truly terrified the entity wasn’t the rune in Kayden’s hand but the murderous intent emanating from him. Kayden had long become a man who’d slaughtered countless foes. Even ghosts would flee in terror at the sight of such a ruthless figure. It was clear that the malevolent spirit controlling Master Holloway had been scared off by Kayden.
Master Holloway, unaware of what he had summoned through his chanting, had invited a dangerous spirit. His hand, which had been moments away from gouging out his own eyes, finally stopped mid-air. Regaining control of his body, he lowered his trembling hand, narrowly escaping self-mutilation.
His face bloodied and pale, he gasped for breath and muttered to himself, “That was terrifying… absolutely terrifying!”
“Master! Master!” Suddenly, he looked up at Kayden with panic in his eyes and asked, “Will it come back for me? Will it come back!?”
Master Holloway was now nothing but a shadow of his former self, his once dignified demeanor utterly shattered.
Kayden glanced at him coldly and said, “If you continue deceiving people, it will certainly come back for you.”
These words made Master Holloway’s pupils dilate in shock. He lowered his head, unable to utter a single word.
Deceiving people!
Seraphina, who had just been slapped twice, couldn’t believe her ears. She stared at Master Holloway and demanded, “Master Holloway, what does this mean? Are you saying you’ve been lying to me?”
Master Holloway was someone Seraphina had personally sought out, fully trusting in his abilities.
A few days ago, Seraphina had gone out to dinner with a friend’s wife, where she’d heard Master Holloway’s name being praised to the skies. His reputation had sounded so extraordinary that Seraphina had believed every word. Convinced of his abilities, she had invited him to her home.
Now, wiping the blood from his scratched face, Master Holloway blinked guiltily and confessed, “Yes, I lied to you. I didn’t think you’d be so easy to fool.”
This admission rendered Seraphina speechless. Only now did she realize how foolish she had been.
“You didn’t think I’d be so easy to fool!”
Those words hit her like a slap in the face, wounding her pride deeply. It wasn’t just an insult to her intelligence-it was as if her dignity had been dragged through the mud.
“Bastard! Bastard! I trusted you so much, and you dared to lie to me!” Seraphina’s fury burned brighter than ever. The humiliation she felt was far worse than the physical pain of being slapped.
Master Holloway sighed helplessly and said, “What can I say? I was just trying to make a living. Mrs. Alfredson, consider this my punishment. I promise I’ll never deceive anyone again.”
“Enough. Get out!” Derek Alfredson, tired of the charade, gave the order to expel him.
Master Holloway, however, hesitated. With an awkward expression, he turned to Kayden and asked, “Master, do you have any protective talismans or charms? Could you spare me one? I swear I’ll never commit such wicked acts again.”
“No. Get out!” Kayden dismissed him coldly.
Master Holloway pursed his lips, then slinked away from the Alfredson estate.
Derek Alfredson clasped his hands together and said apologetically, “Mr. Scott, Miss Faulkner, I deeply regret what just happened. It was terribly disrespectful of us.”
Orion stepped forward as well, saying, “I owe you an apology, Mr. Scott.”
Kayden glanced at the two men, his expression calm. He neither acknowledged nor rejected their apologies. Accepting or refusing their words held no significance to him; he hadn’t come here for their apologies.
“Seraphina! Hurry and apologize!” Derek Alfredson glared at Seraphina angrily.
Seraphina pouted and said, “Even so, there’s no guarantee he can cure Father. Master Holloway may have lied to us, but that doesn’t mean he can save Father.”
Hearing this, Derek Alfredson frowned and asked, “Mr. Scott, about my father…”
“It’s simple,” Kayden replied. “He swallowed a Ravenwood Stone, which caused him to develop Ravenwood Syndrome.”
When Kayden approached Zack Alfredson earlier, he had sensed a foreign energy controlling the man’s body.
“Right now, his body has been hollowed out by the Ravenwood Stone, which is why he’s unconscious,” Kayden explained. He then walked over to Zack Alfredson and unbuttoned his shirt.
Zack’s emaciated chest was exposed, his ribs clearly visible. Calmly, Kayden took out a pack of silver needles and began inserting them into specific acupoints on Zack’s chest. Once the needles were in place, he quietly waited.
Five minutes later, Zack’s previously comatose body stirred slightly.
“Ah…” A faint groan escaped his lips as a soft white light began to radiate from his body.
Indeed, a beam of white light emerged from within him.
As the light faded, a small silver stone, no bigger than a soybean, surfaced from Zack’s chest. It was the Ravenwood Stone he had accidentally swallowed.
Kayden picked up the stone and removed the needles from Zack’s body.
“It’s done. Let him rest for a few days, and he’ll be fine. As for this Ravenwood Stone, I’m keeping it.”
“Really? Thank you so much, Mr. Scott! Thank you!” Derek Alfredson exclaimed, his face brimming with gratitude.
Kayden looked at him and said, “I didn’t come here to help you or Zack Alfredson. I came to repay a debt owed by Wood Faulkner. Whatever debt your family had, Wood Faulkner has now repaid it.”
With that, he turned to Wood Faulkner and said coldly, “Let’s go.”
Kayden had no fondness for the Alfredson family, especially since they tolerated someone like Seraphina, whose reckless words spoke volumes about their lack of discipline.
“Mr. Scott!” Derek Alfredson rushed forward, clearly anxious. “Where are you heading?”
“Home. My business here is done,” Kayden replied.
“Mr. Scott, Miss Faulkner, you’ve done our family a great favor! If you leave so abruptly, my father will scold me once he wakes up. Please, don’t leave just yet. Our family has something to give you.”
With that, Derek clapped his hands, and two women entered the room carrying boxes.
Derek opened one of the boxes and handed it to Kayden. “Mr. Scott, this is a tradition in our family. Whoever cures my father receives a villa in Alaric Center. Here’s the key. Please accept it.”
A villa in Alaric Center-worth ten million dollars!
