Does Love Require Logic?

“Nothing.”
I raised one eyebrow as I heard Pollux’s answer. I just remembered what their mother said. No wonder Pollux was always getting scolded because he was that rude.
I pursed my lips and snorted at him. As I passed him, I just glanced at him without speaking. I felt annoyed with him. Why should he be any different from Castor, who cared more about me?”
“Are you angry?” Pollux leveled his steps with mine.
“No.”
“Just so you know, a woman’s no means the opposite. You’re easily provoked. I checked the security camera footage.”
Pollux handed me his cell phone. I saw the silver-furred wolf exit the room and walk quickly out of the mansion. All the videos from the footage that took turns to highlight the corridor showed the figure of the silver wolf.
I zoomed in on myself in wolf form as I stopped in the back garden. I felt my heart swell with happiness as the wolf looked calm, despite occasionally inching its way toward the pack members. I looked calm, restrained, and elegant in the video until I collapsed on the ground.
“Don’t cry already. Save your thanks for when I lock you up later, sweet pea.” Pollux winked at me.
I smiled at Pollux. I didn’t expect him to have the idea to save this and then show it to me. I unconsciously hugged him, and he responded by wrapping his arms around me tighter.
“Women! Even something like this can make you cry.”
“I’m happy; don’t wreck it.” I hit his arm gently.
“Pollux, accompany Luna Godiva tonight. I have something to do.”
I removed my hand from Pollux’s body and turned around. Castor went into his room first and left the two of us in front of my bedroom door. The night was getting late, and I was feeling very tired. I had thought that Castor would accompany me, but being with Pollux wasn’t bad either.
The more time passed, the more comfortable I became with Pollux. His changed demeanor made me respect him more. He was an Alpha, after all, and I had to be fair to respect both Alphas.
Pollux suddenly grabbed my body with both arms until I floated off the floor and clung to his body. He carried me until we were inside the room. My face reflexively turned red from his actions.
“Can you stop looking at me?”
I continued to stare at him, although we were already on the bed. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, not for a single second. With a tilted position like this, I could contentedly look at him.
“I think I’m falling in love with you, Alpha Pollux.”
“Go to sleep. Did you lose your mind and go into a rant after successfully doing your first shift?”
“I meant what I said. I’m in love with you. You changed and made me melt.”
Pollux changed his position to face me. He stared deeply at me, and I became self-conscious. Why am I being like this?
I imagined that his lips landed on mine. Instead of coming true, Pollux pulls my body against his. I can hear his heartbeat hammering.
In this moment, I was in the arms of Pollux Melucci, the Alpha of the Moonstone pack. I hated him in the beginning, but as time went by, he showed himself by winning my heart. I fell into his love. He meant what he preached.
“I’ve finally tamed you, sweet pea. I cannot be like Castor, who gave you the clarity that his woman needed. I Pollux Melucci, Alpha of the Moonstone Pack, promise with all my might to give my heart and love to Luna Godiva Fletcher. Pull out your pinky! We have to make a different deal than the last one.”
I pulled out my left pinky from under the blanket. He instantly linked his pinky to mine. We twisted them together until our thumbs were pressed together.
I smiled as Pollux validated the agreement with our fingers. His acts were like a child’s deal, but it didn’t matter to me. He was building his own chemistry, and I appreciated that.
I fell asleep as Pollux held me in his arms. When I woke up in the morning, a sense of freshness replaced my fatigue. I checked Pollux’s whereabouts. He was still asleep beside me.
I heard a knock on my bedroom door, and Trisha’s voice was heard calling me behind it. I got out of bed and grabbed my robe. I opened the door for Trisha, who greeted me with a friendly smile.
“Good morning, Luna Godiva. I brought breakfast for you and Alpha Pollux according to Alpha Castor’s orders. Alpha Castor also delivered a message that he had to leave early in the morning with Beta Alvise. He will be back by dinnertime. He also asked you to start training today.”
“What training?” I looked at him with a confused look.
“You can ask Alpha Pollux, Luna. I was just told that way. I prepared a nutritious breakfast to boost your energy and metabolism. I also made fresh milk for you to drink after your breakfast. Alpha Castor said you should consume it all.”
Trisha accompanied me to breakfast, and we talked a lot. Pollux woke up after hearing me choke from laughing at Trisha’s joke. Pollux immediately cleared his throat, causing Trisha to raise a panic.
I had almost forgotten the hierarchy in this pack. I nodded my head to give Trisha the code to leave us. I glared at Pollux, who returned a mischievous smirk from his lips.
I just realized one thing. Pollux’s behavior was ridiculous and annoyed me, but in the deepest recesses of my heart I loved him, too. Moon Goddess had done me a favor by opening my heart to him.
Pollux hugged me from behind and whispered, “Want to exercise with me, sweet pea?”
I nodded slowly. The tingling sensation of Pollux’s warm breath in my ear made my body rustle. I try to suppress it because the topic of our conversation is indeed exercise. It wouldn’t be a bad idea if I tried jogging around the forest around the mansion with him.
“I’ll finish my breakfast and get ready to exercise with you, Alpha Pollux.”
“Okay, no problem.”
I seemed to sense that there was something he was hiding. I watched Pollux’s face as he ate his breakfast quickly, looking for answers from the expressions he might show as clues to me.
“I know I’m handsome. I can do more than just show you my charms, Luna.”
“That’s so bold! I was just wondering what we were going to do.”
“You moved me. Should I appreciate your curiosity about me?”
“Alpha! Are you flirting with me?”
I did exclaim to deny my attraction to her. Deep down in my heart, and I admitted it with my sanity that I was fascinated by her. Does love require logic?
If I loved Castor because he was the only man who understood me, then I had consciously loved Pollux because of his sincerity. Two men who changed my life to be more meaningful. I now realize the Moon Goddess’ purpose in giving me two mates in my life was because I needed two sides and two feelings that I had lost.
