Kai paced through his office, his mind racing. He was overcome with feelings of anger and self-hatred, all directed at him.
He had a moment of weakness. One where he was vulnerable, and said things he should not have said, did things he shouldn’t have done.
“Fuck it.” He hissed.
He had shown Karen his scars.
He couldn’t believe he had been so daft to do such a thing! He wasn’t normally soft, he wasn’t like thia. Not for any reason. Karen kept doing things to him that he couldn’t even understand anymore.
And the sleep he had gotten, it was heavenly. A night of peaceful slumber, he had woken beside her and his dick still inside her.

Kai sighed and rubbed his temples. All his thinking was giving him a really bad headache.
“Sir?”

He turned to see Karen standing in the doorway. “How long have you been standing there?” He snapped at her. He hadn’t meant to sound so harsh, but it was necessary.
Karen blinked. “Long enough to hear you curse yourself out.”
“Sarcasm.” He said darkly. “Sarcasm doesn’t suit you this early in the morning.”
She shrugged. “Maybe.”
Kai was getting distracted just by staring at her. Damn it she was gorgeous! Even in work clothes she was perfection. He wanted to bend her over the table and bury himself in her warmth, tell her how much he loved her.
Mark her.

So no one would ever dare lay a finger on her.
She tilted her head to the side, a curious look on her face. “Sir?” She called
His eyes moved to her lips. He wondered what those lips would look and feel like wrapped around his dick.
“Fuck,” He whsipered under his breath

“Drop it on the desk.” He said, walking over to the window and pretending to stare out of it.
He heard her loud vexed sigh and her heels clicking on the floor. From the corner of his eye he took a peak as she bent over to drop the papers. Her blouse slid down revealing the top of her breasts.
Kai swallowed. She looked up at him but he quickly looked away.
“You may go ” He said, his voice stern but his heart yearning fro her.
She turned and left, her hips swaying as she walked. She didn’t even have to try to charm him. He was under her spell already.

And as if his day couldn’t get any worse, Nicolas had to walk in at the most unfortunate time
“The fuck do you want?!” Kai spat at him.

Kai felt angry at himself. Again. He needed to get his stuff together. This wasn’t him at all.

“Kai I have something to tell you ” Nicolas said, his tone grave.
Kai felt the urgency. “What is it?”
“It’s about Asher.”
“Go on.”
“It seems his plans are much deeper than we think. ”

Nicolas sighed. He seemed to be struggling within himself. And re only time that happened it had to do with…
“He met Verena yesterday.”

Kai wasn’t too happy about Verena. He was still very much bitter towards her. If her plan had succeeded, he would have turned colder and more brutal. Kai himself knew that.
Yes Karen maybe annoying, and he wants to get her out of his head, and he’s pushing her away and treating her with disdain. But Karen was the one bright spot in his life. Verena nearly took her away.

“What I’m trying to say is, we need to be more careful. If he’s going to Verena direct, he could go after Karen”
Kai felt his heart skip a beat. “That bastard wouldn’t dare.”
“It’s just a precaution.”
Kai stared at Nicolas. He noticed a different air about him. Lately Nicolas had changed, he became happier, there was a glow in his face, a certain shine in his eyes.
Kai thought bitterly that Verena must be treating him well. Good for the both of them.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Like I want to murder you and give Karen your eyes to store in resin?”
Nicolas frowned. “What crawled up your ass and died Mr Sylvester?! What the heck is that statement?!”
“It’s Karen and not me! Damnit! I feel like I’m losing my mind!”
Nicolas sighed “then just talk to her.”
Kai stared out of the window. “Never.”

Karen got closer to home she could tell that something was terribly wrong.
It felt different there was an aura in the air, she hated to think it but it was the heavy disgusting aura of death.
Karen got to her front door and tried the lock. It didn’t open. She tried it again and again. Nothing. Her heart started to race in her chest.
She picked her phone and dialed Amanda. Her phone rang with no one picking up. She dialed the school and asked if David was still there.
No, the school said. Your nanny picked him up two hours ago.
Karen felt fear grip her heart. Two hours ago. Why was the door locked?!
She went by the side, hoping to get in through a window.
Pleas let them be okay. Please let them be okay!
She pressed her face to the window and gasped in horror.
“Amanda!” She screamed. “Amanda!”
Her nanny was lying in the living room in a pool of her own blood, unmoving. Karen cried, looking around for what to do.
“What’s the matter?!” She heard he voice of her neighbor ask.
“He…. she…” She tried to say, pointing at the window.
“Jeez…” The man gasped “I’ll call Emergency right away. ”
Karen couldn’t tear her eyes away from Amanda’s corpse. The thought ringing in her head was David. Where was David?!
The sound of sirens filled the air, two police vehicles and an ambulance pulling up in fornt of her house.
Karen rushed to the officers. “My son! ” She cried. “My son was in there ! He… he’s four and he’s this tall and….”
A female officer ran out To her and pulled her aside. “Ma’am, please. We’ll find your son okay? What happened here?”
Karen wiped her eyes. “I just came home from work, and my door was locked. I couldn’t…. I couldn’t get it opened And then I saw Amanda through the window…. and she’s….”
“Calm down ma’am, okay? We’ve got this under control.”
Karen held the woman, tears rushing down her eyes. “My baby…. my baby is in there….”
There officers broke into the house. Karen watched, her eye wide with. Horror as they pulled out Amanda’s corpse. Karen ran to the side of the stretcher.
“Oh my goodness…” She gasped , her hand covering her mouth. “Amanda…” She looked blue, completely drained of life. Karen noticed the marks on her body, bearing painful resemblance to wolf claws.
Her heart dropped and stared again.
It can’t be…
The officers emerged from the house. No David with them. Karen ran up to them
“Please…. my baby! Is he in there?”
“I’m sorry ma’am, there was no sign of a child inside.”
“No… no! ” She cried out, trying to get into the house but being restrained. “My baby! They took him!”
“Ma’am, cplease. We’ll need to seal the house for investigations. Do you have any relatives you can stay with for the time being?”
“I don’t…” Karen sobbed. “It’s just the two of us…. and…”

Kai crossed her mind.
She raised her head up and wiped her eyes. “Yes yes! I have someone!”
The man looked at her with pity. “So you need a ride?”
She shook her head. “I’m fine.” She wiped her eyes dey and rushed to her car.
“Ma’am!”
She ignored their shouts and drove out. Kai would know how to help her. He would know what to do. Karen knew the moment she saw those marks on Amanda’s body.

Karen parked in front of the office and got out of her car. She ran all the way to the elevator, willing it to appear soon er. In the elevator she couldn’t help her nervousness.
The elevator and barely opened properly before she was running out, racing all the way to Kai’s office.
“Kai!” She cried out, saying a silent thank you to the moon goddess that he was still at work.
“Karen,” he looked up from his computer at her “what the fuck are you doing here at….”
Karen went down on her knees, her hands clasped together. “Please, I desperately need your help ”
He looked shocked. “What happened? Why are you like this. Have you been crying?!”
Karen couldn’t contain her tears any more. “my son…. he’s been kidnapped! And my many murdered! The… the cops are at mt place now and …. I didn’t know where to go.”
Kai rose to his feet and walked to her. “You son has been kidnapped?”
“Yes. I think…. I think a wolf did it”
“I’ll help you find him.” He said without hesitation.
“Oh thank you. Thank you so much I….”
“On one condition.”
Her heart skipped. “What.”
“You tell me the father of the child.”
Karen met his eyes. “Deal.”
