Book:Alpha Kai's Revenge Published:2025-3-4

Fifty million dollars.
Karen had read the agreement, but she hadn’t paid any particular heed to that comment. Sic months, what was six months to her when she had been there for four years?
Except that at the time she read the agreement, she hadn’t known that Kai was the CEO. She hadn’t known that he would find her. She didn’t know she would ever meet him again, talk less of him being her boss now.
Now the six months seemed like six years to her.
How wild she survive six months working under him, and being constantly filled with memories of her time with him. It was either that or magically raise fifty million dollars for a penalty. Karen knew she had some money, but it was no way near that amount.
“That’s dirty ” she said at last, glaring hotly at Kai and not caring that other people were in attendance.
He smirked. “What do you say, Princess?” He said the nickname like it was a hot coal on his tongue.
No one had called her princess in years. Karen felt her heart skip in a way she didn’t like. She glared at Kai.
What a ruthless man he was.
Her face bloomed red with embarrassment. She bit her lip hard, wondering what she was going to do.
She decided to bit the bullet and get it over with. Her eyes zeroed in on the closet chair. It would be the easiest in her crawl to shame.
She sighed and grabbed the hem of her skirt, raising it up a bit. It crossed her mind that there tights would be ruined by the time she was done crawling to the chair and she would walk with torn tights for the rest of the work day.
About to go on her knees, Kai stopped her.
“The meeting is over.” He announced. “Get back to work, all of you.”
Everyone rushed to get their things and leave the meeting room, the suffocating aura inside too much for them to bear. Too much for mere humans.
Kai rose to his feet, his eyes trained on Karen. “You, come with me.”
It was on the tip of her tongue to snap at him. He walked past her, Nicolas following behind him.
“Hello Karen” Nicolas said. “You look interesting.”
Karen rolled her eyes. “Save it. I’m not in the mood for your sarcasm.”
He raised a brow, a smile playing on his lips. “It’s good to see you again, it really is.”
“I wish I shared your happiness of seeing me again, but I don’t think it’s good to see you again.”
“Can you two hurry it up?” Kai snapped from outside the hall. Karen turned and walked away without waiting for a response form Nicolas.
She followed behind Kai, Nicolas falling in step beside her. She felt relieved. It was a close one, a really close one. She had nearly crawled like a dog in fornt of everyone. All because of the sadistic man she was now working for.
They got to the elevator and entered inside. Karen felt a bit uncomfortable, being in an elevator with two men. Even though one of them hated her a lot and the other was indifferent to her.
When the elevator dinged, she was more than happy to jump out of it.
Kai took her to the highest floor where his office was located. The floor was quiet and had a different vibe to the offices down below. She spotted his secretary, a young woman with striking golden hair that reminded Karen of her own hair before she dyed it black.
“Welcome back, Mr Sylvester.” She said with a bow.
Kai waved in response. Karen didn’t miss how the Secretary’s eyes followed her.
“I’ll catch you two later.” Nicolas said and headed off to the side. Karen guessed he must be going to his own office. It made sense that Kai would want his beta to be close by.
“Don’t forget our meeting.” Kai said to Nicolas.
“Sure.”
Karen kept quiet. Kai opened the door to his office and ushered her in. Karen was surprised at the space. It reminded her too much of his suite, themed in similar colors of white and gold. The furniture was rustic and had a charming quality. But the best part of it had to be the huge glass wall that overlooked the city and provided the most amazing view of the sky and the skyline.
Karen wondered what it would be like watching the full moon from here.
She quickly turned back to Kai. “Why did you bring me here?” She asked.
“Take a seat ” He said and gestured to one of the seats at his desk.
“I’d prefer to stand, thank you.” Karen replied.
He nodded. “Very well.” He walked past her and to his chair, taking a seat and watching her closely. She could feel his eyes shamelessly raking over her body and as much as she didn’t want it, they lit a slow torturous fire on her skin.
He looked up and met her eyes. “I had never imagined to meet you again like this.” He said, a bit of awe in his voice. “For all I thought, you could have been dead.”
“I would have been if you had executed me.” Karen replied bitterly. “Which you were going to do in a heartbeat.”
“Ah yes, that too.” He said calmly. “But did I behead you? You’re standing here perfectly fine aren’t you?”
Karen grit her teeth and glared hotly at him
“And you underwent a change so drastic I… I almost didn’t recognize you. And to think that you had been working for me, for the past four years, that’s really something.”
“I know right? You probably forgot about me the second I was gone.”
It hurt her to think about it. Because if he beared any sort of kindness towards her, maybe he would have searched for her or something. But What was the point if he searched for her only to kill her once he found her?
It hurt her a lot. But it was for the best.
“Forgot? How could I forget you and the pain your father caused me?” He leaned forward, his jaw propped on the back of his palms. “I could never forget. Not you, not your father. And you have no idea how glad I am that you are not dead. Because if your were, I wouldn’t be able to kill you myself. Such a let down, no?”
Karen clenched her fist in anger. He was getting on her nerves a lot.
“What exactly do you want?! To embarrass me in fornt of my coworkers?!”
“It’s much more than that. You see, I still haven’t forgotten my revenge on you and your father.”
“I didn’t do anything to you!”
“Oh but you did.” He said and rose to his feet. His eyes became dark and cold. “You did something to me.”
“What” she hissed in response.
“You ran away with my child inside of you “
