Chapter 11: painful

Book:Alpha Kai's Revenge Published:2025-3-4

Karen crept through the dungeons as silently as she could, searching for Eve. She held a bundle close to her chest, inside was bread and some water she had managed to sneak out of the kitchen when Inez wasn’t being a bitch and breathing down everyone’s neck.
“Princess?” A voice whispered sternly. Karen paused and crept back to the cell she had walked past.
“Eve!” She whispered, a smile spreading on her face. “I’ve been looking for you!”
“What are you doing here?” Eve said, she looked around, her eyes flashing alarm. “If they find you here they’ll hurt you.”
Karen felt her heart break as she started at Eve. She looked like a ghost of herself. Her hair was ashy, and her skin was pale. There were cuts on her face, and as much of her body as Karen could see was littered in bruises.
It hurt her to see the most powerful warrior she knew reduced to a shell of herself.
“They hurt you…” Karen whispered, tears filling her eyes.
“Princess,” Eve said with a soft laugh. “Please, don’t pity me. It won’t make you feel any better.”
Karen’s lip trembled and she angrily wiped tears away. “That damned alpha Kai” she hissed darkly. “I hate him so much.”
Eve was silent for a while. “I’m a prisoner now, Princess. It’s only a miracle I’m still alive now.”
Karen glared at Eve. “You used to be a warrior! What happened to you?! Huh?!”
Eve chuckled and hung her head. “Warrior? That was the past Princess. It’s not–”
Karen scoffed, anger sparking in her belly. “You were my father’s prized warrior! How can you give up like this?! He would be ashamed to see you like this! How can–”
“Your father is dead, princess. Kai killed him. Kai killed a lot of us, I… I had no idea you were alive till I saw you there…” Eve trailed off, the pain in her voice getting louder with each word she spoke.
Karen recalled the image of her father’s severed head.
“What did Kai do to my pack.” Karen asked quietly.
Eve didn’t reply.
“Eve, answer me.”
“Princess, I cannot–”
“I command you, as your princess to talk.” Karen said. It was the first time she had ever used such line, referring to herself as princess. “What did Kai do to my pack, and how many of us are left?”
Eve gasped, her eyes widening in fear. “I… we aren’t much left, princess. Majority of us are dead. The few that managed to escape are rouges now.”
Karen felt her heart break.
As the only child of the alpha, she was next in line to be alpha even though her father didn’t want her to. Hearing about her packs death hurt her on a personal level. Her wolf howled in pain.
Karen felt her body bristle with anger. “How many are left?”
“Not much,”
“In percentage?”
“Five… four maybe.”
Karen felt her heart ache. She gripped her chest and grit her teeth hard. She didn’t know which was worse, that she felt pain for her pack that treated her like trash, or that Kai had left her alive.
Eve blinked, looked around in confusion. “Princess?”
Karen rose to her feet. She dropped the bundle on the floor. “Thank you for your honesty, Eve.” She said simply and turned to leave.
“Princess!” Eve whisper yelled in alarm. “Be careful!”
Karen didn’t hear her. She walked out of the dungeons, anger burning inside her.
It made no sense to her. Why would Kai leave her alive? Why didn’t he kill her along with her father?
She thought of her father, and Eve, and herself, and her anger only grew.
“Where have you been?!” Inez’s voice drew her from her thoughts.
Karen blinked. She looked around her, seeing she had made her way back to the servants quarters. She glanced at Inez and even more anger filled her heart.
“What is it?” She snapped.
“Oh my goodness.” Inez said with a bitter laugh. “You are the rudest slave ever. I can’t understand why our generous alpha still puts up with you.”
Karen wanted to hit her.
“Hurry up and go to The alpha. He demands your presence now!”
Karen rolled her eyes. But of course, so he could torture her even more. She turned and headed to Kai’s suite. She wondered what he wanted form her this time.
She knocked on the door and waited for his deep voice to say
“Come in.”
Karen walked in. She followed the sound of his voice till she got to his study. He was reading some papers, the light casting soft shadows on his face.
“Where are your cleaning things?” Kai asked without raising his head from the book.
“I don’t have them.” Karen said simply.
Kai raised his head and looked at her. There was slight annoyance on his face, as evident by the muscle in his jaw twitching.
“You seriously have a death wish, don’t you?”
“Actually, I do.” Karen snapped. “Just like all the members of my pack did. If that’s not the case, then why are they all dead?”
Kai scoffed and went back to his books. “Silly girl.” He said. “Get your things and start cleaning. You have a lot to do.”
Karen felt anger spark inside her. “You killed children! You killed innocent people! And all for what?! Your revenge?! Why didn’t you just kill me too?! Why did you keep me alive?”
“Innocent people?” Kai laughed. “None of them were innocent. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll get back to work and stop wasting my time. ”
“You can do your damned work yourself.” Karen spat at him. She spun on her heel and turned to leave. Kai voice coming up close to her ear made her shiver and freeze.
“I think I’ve been to kind to you. ” Kai said. “I will not tolerate your blatant disrespect.”
Karen couldn’t speak. The rage and hatred she felt rolling off of him in waves was crippling. She tried to move but her feet felt rooted to the spot.
It hit her that she had made a mistake. That she should have kept quiet and not said anything. It hit her a bit too late.
“I ..” She started to say but was shut up by his hand going to her neck and choking her. He dragged her and slammed her face first into his desk. Papers flew up, fluttering to the ground.
Everywhere became tensed, the atmosphere went still. What was she thinking playing games with the devil? She knew how dangerous he tend to be, but yet she kept testing him.
“You have no idea the position you are right now, if you do… the least you can do is run that mouth of yours!” as he spoke, his mouth was placed in a laconic drawl as his eyes went to her lips, his mouth forming a smug grin as he looked at her evenly as if he was urging her to recall the last moment he shut her up.
“No … no…” Karen cried, the all too familiar look on his face reminding her the torture she went through the last time he had his whole length deep down inside her throat.
“No?” Kai said with a bitter laugh. “What is that? You practically begged me to rip you apart.” he mocked as his hands ripped her clothes.
His cold eyes gawking over her body like she was his meal.
His hands grabbed her by the thighs, pulling her close to his body.
Karen felt cold shivers shut down her spine, jolts of electricity sparks through her body making her quiver. There was this thing about him; Pleasure mixed with pain.
She squirmed, her core feeling wet.
His hand trailed down her thighs roughly, and then settled on her core, as he shot her another look, a look that simply told her that she was going to be doomed.
A finger slide into her making her gasped, the pleasure washing down her feet as she bit her lips preventing the moan that was planning on escaping her lips.
His finger slid in and out of her, his hands on her neck. This time she doubt she contain it all, as she shut her eyes closed, and allow the heat of the moment wash through her.
“Enjoy the fun while it lasts” He whispered devilishly Into her ears, and with that another finger slipped inside of her making her scream, her body trying to adjust to the size and the pressure he was applying. Pleasure, Pain washed through her.
Just while she thought she was adjusting to the double finger inside of her, he tripled it… This time she roared.
No one heard her screams.
No one came

Verena paced the floors of her room, biting her nails with pent up frustration.
Kai hadn’t sent for her in days, he continued to keep her locked up in this wretched place. Her back tingled where he had her whipped for talking back at him.
Did he do same to that Karen?!
“Gosh!” She yelled out and kicked the air. “This is so annoying!”
Verena glanced at the door every three seconds, waiting for Daisy, her personal maid to return with the information. For days now Daisy had been her eyes and ears in the pack house, seeing everything and reporting directly to her.
Right on cue, the door opened and Daisy walked in.
“Yes?” Verena said, walking up to her.
Daisy shook her head sadly. “Mistress, she is with him.”
“Again?!” Verena shouted. “That’s the second time in two days! He hasn’t –” she trailed off, biting her nails again. “I can’t believe this! What does that bug have that I don’t?!”
Daisy bowed her head and listened to her mistress vent. It was all part of her job.
“I don’t think it’s a nice session though.” Daisy said at last
Verena looked at her sharply, her gold eyes menacing. “Go on…”
“I overheard Inez complaining about her rudeness. Perhaps it’s a punishment.”
“That bitch!” Verena ran her hands through her hair. “She has no idea what is coming for her!”
“Yes, she doesn’t.”
“Still why won’t he call me?!” Verena whined. “I’m dying of loneliness here!”
Daisy smiled at her. “I’m sure he will soon, Mistress.”
Verena rolled her eyes. “what do you knwo? Get me a drink or something.” She said with a dismissive wave. Daisy bowed and walked out.
Verena rubbed her temples, sighing heavily. She had to do something. And fast.

Karen laid on the cold floors, the sound of cracking filling the air. The cracking was coming from her bones snapping in place after being broken by Kai.
Karen sobbed quietly, she had long ran out of tears and sounds. Kai wasn’t joking when he said he had been kind to her.
“This is just the beginning.” He had said to her as he dropped her body to the floor like a used tissue.
Karen shuddered as a cold wind drafted through her. She screamed as her hip bone snapped in place. Blood poured from her injuries, pooling around her. The smell of it made her feel sick.
She should have kept quiet.
Even with her fast healing, it hurt like hell. She groaned deeply, hearing her shoulder snap into position. She couldn’t move, couldn’t test it out.
As she laid on the floor, she wished for death to come.
The pain in her abdomen was even worse. It felt like he had started a fire inside her and poured fuel on it. It burned and she could still feel him buried deep inside her.
A sob escaped her lips. This pain was new, she hasn’t ever experienced it before.
Suddenly the times her father made her life hell felt like heaven compared to what Kai had just out her through.
At this point, she found herself wishing she would be asked to water hecters of land than to suffer another night at Kai’s hands.
It pricked her at the back of her mind that she hadn’t even seen his full strength yet. The realization filled her with dread.
She wanted to run and never look back
