~YULIA
It was mesmerizing looking at the sea as it crashed on the sandy shores of Issa’s private beach house. The moon shone brightly as the waves rose and fell.
“I had never seen Miles so angry before,” I told Issa as he joined me at the balcony overlooking the beach.
It was different at night as the sands looked more like night ash while the water took on the colour of the sea.
“He has every right to be, it was about time anyway,” Issa replied.
I turned to him.
“How long are we going to keep hiding everything about us, Issa?” I asked him. “Because at this point, I do not care who finds out what we are.”
He sighed. “I have never felt fear in a while, Yulia,” He said. “But when it comes to you, that’s all I feel. I am afraid of what might happen after everything we do comes to light and I still do. However, I am done hiding you from the world.”
It was a bit refreshing to know that Issa could feel afraid and I admired the fact that he was willing to talk about it. I understood his position as a Lycan not to show any sign of fear no matter what but I could not really blame him. He had never cared for anyone but himself in a long time since our wolves claimed each other.
My phone buzzed. I checked it and saw that it was a message from Pete. He just sent me the location of where he wanted us to meet. “He wants me to come alone.”
I scoffed in disgust. If little Pete believed that I was going to leave him alone with my mate, he had another thing coming for him.
“He has made a big mistake and he does not even know it yet,” Issa mutters.
He brought out his phone and began to type something into it.
“What are you doing?” I asked him.
“Preparing for a little war,” he replied. “Let us meet with him.”
It was a twenty minutes’ drive to the location Pete sent me. An old warehouse situated at the outskirts of Issa’s territory.
I was a bit surprised to realize that I was not even nervous about the whole thing. I was just curious as to how all this was going to play out. Pete was under the impression that I was afraid of him. I was going to clear his eyes when he realized just how much I had changed.
“What is the plan?” I asked Issa as he killed the engine. He shrugged. “We go in and wait.” He replied. We got down from the car and headed straight for the entrance of the old warehouse.
Pete stood in front of his small band of werewolves. Apparently, he was not a joke after all if anybody could still join forces with him. I could clearly see the smug, confident look on his face as he stood there surrounded by twelve of those men that destroyed my room.
“I told you to come alone,” Pete said with his arms crossed. “But I am not surprised to see that you disobeyed me. you will learn to listen by the time I am done with you.”
He looked at Issa and sneered. “You know, seeing you up close, I just realised that you are not as scary as you think you are. I mean fucking your own niece? Where is the shame?”
Issa said nothing as he glared at Pete. I was sure that he was thinking of many different ways to rip him apart.
“So, how do we do this?” I asked, mirroring his stance.
“Wow, you are ready to do anything to keep your dirty secret, I did not know that you were going to be so eager,” Pete replied with a sick smile. “You know what? My friends here want a show, so how about you get down on your knees and crawl to me, then you unzip me with your mouth and suck me up.”
His friends chuckled and nudged each other in excitement. Issa’s phone buzzed and he held up a finger. “Just a moment gentlemen, I think this call may concern you all.” He said as he brought out his phone.
It was a video call of Thaddeus with a lot of men behind him. He was in a long coat sitting in an office with a nervous look on his face.
Issa turned the screen towards Pete and his boys.
“Hello, son,” The Swine said casually. Pete frowned in confusion at his father and the men behind him became nervous as they shifted from foot to foot. “I remember clearly when I told you to let this go but it seems you are still adamant about proving just what a fool you are.”
“Dad, what is going on?” Pete asked, angry that he had been interrupted. “This is between Issa and I; it does not concern you.”
“Well. Issa is the Alpha of Blue Lake territory and his men are currently in my house and they showed me a video of you and your friends thrashing his place. You just started a war, are you even aware of that?” Thaddeus asked and I could hear the disappointment in his tone.
Pete looked dumbfounded and at a loss of what to say.
“So, Alpha Frostwood and I have come to an agreement since war is bad for business, you have been banished from The Swine Mob as of this moment. You are not the only son that I have, Pete. Goodbye and good luck.”
The screen went dead.
I scoffed at how quickly his own father could abandon him.
“That must have been devastating to hear from your own father,” I said to Pete who was in a trance of disbelief.
The men looked at one another and I knew what they were about to do. They were going to turn on Pete.
It would not save them from Issa. Nothing could.
