Chapter 222 His Warning

Book:Let Me Go, Sugar Daddy Published:2025-3-4

Irene was nearly stunned with fear by her actions.
She wasn’t stupid. Originally, the plan was just to target Lillian, but when she saw George and Gordon in the room, how could she still dare to strip Lillian? Those were the young masters of the Smith family and the Thomas family!
She was just a small assistant-she’d get pushed forward to take the fall if anything went wrong!
Who knew if Daisy would get into trouble?
She didn’t have the courage to try this again.
“Miss, please, let me explain…”
Two sharp slaps landed on Irene’s face, and Daisy’s long, pointed crystal nails caught in Irene’s hair.
The pain made Irene hiss.
She was about to kick Irene when the door to the room suddenly flew open.
Martin stood in the doorway, his face serious. “Is everything online true?”
“What are you talking about?” Daisy glared at him. “Is this your excuse for barging into my room?”
Martin held up his phone and shoved it in front of Daisy’s face. “Did you have anything to do with Lillian’s situation?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Do you think everyone’s an idiot? Who else would have the motive to do something like this except you?”
Daisy pursed her lips. “What, now you’re losing it over some outsider? Don’t you remember your own family name? I’m your big sister! A traitor, and you’ve been pampered all these years for nothing?”
“Can you two stop arguing already?!” Mrs. Nelson, who had overheard the commotion upstairs, rushed down in a hurry. “We’ve got a big problem!”
Martin asked, “Mom, what’s going on? Why are you downstairs without even wearing shoes?”
Her uncharacteristic behavior wasn’t like Mrs. Nelson at all.
“Our ancestral grave… someone dug up our family’s grave!”
“What?!” Martin and Daisy’s eyes widened.
Mrs. Nelson stomped her foot in frustration. “I don’t know who did it, but your grandfather had an episode in the yard just now, and now we need to rush him to the hospital. It’s such a disaster. That specialist, Eric, who got hurt in the car accident-he’s already back in his country.”
“What do we do now?!”
Mrs. Nelson was just a housewife, and when something serious happened, she completely lost her composure.
Martin quickly rushed downstairs to help.
Daisy sat down on the bed, and Mrs. Nelson scolded her, “What are you still doing? Hurry up and grab your stuff! Take your grandmother to the hospital! If we’re late, it’ll be the last time you see your grandfather!”
As the family hurried to the hospital, Nelson suddenly rushed forward and slapped Daisy. “You wretched thing!”
“Dad?!” Martin exclaimed in shock.
After all, Nelson had never hit them when they were growing up.
“What have you done? You let Conrad, that mad man, dig up our family’s grave!”
“How can you be sure Conrad did it? He wouldn’t do something like that!” Daisy reflexively retorted. “That’s our family’s grave, it could have been some small thief.”
“In City N, what kind of thief would have the guts to do so? What’s there to steal anyway? This was done on purpose! This is his warning to our family! You idiot.” Nelson shouted angrily.
Just then, the nurse from the emergency room rushed out. “Is anyone from Old Mr. White’s family here?”
Daisy couldn’t hear anything clearly anymore. Her ears were buzzing, and her grandmother had slapped her twice. Her face had swollen up, and there were traces of blood.
Her tears had long since dried on her face.
The doctor apologized and walked away.
She could hear her parents crying, and her grandmother telling her to get out.
Daisy’s lips trembled as she wanted to say she hadn’t meant for things to turn out this way.
But why did it happen like this?
Conrad… How did he find out so quickly? Didn’t they delete the surveillance footage?
Why wouldn’t he listen to her explanation?!
She was his fiancee!
The wedding invitations had already been sent out.
What was she to him?
Lillian’s reputation was ruined, and now he was going to ruin her too?
Who was more important to him!?
Daisy was ordered not to enter the hospital room. She stood in the hallway, unable to do anything.
Nelson, still grieving his father’s condition, was abruptly interrupted by a phone call from Conrad.
The word “bastard” was on the tip of his tongue, but Conrad cut straight to the point.
“Do you like the gift I sent to your family?” Conrad asked coldly.
“You… what do you want?” Nelson’s voice wavered. “We’re supposed to be family!”
“What can I want? I heard your father’s surgery didn’t go well, and now he’ll probably just be lying down for the rest of his life. I thought I’d check in. Seems like I’m not welcome.”
Nelson gritted his teeth in anger but took a deep breath. “What do you want?”
“Mr. Nelson, am I asking for anything? We have a contract, after all. There’s a huge amount of money moving around now. Something unexpected happened, and your family might not survive this-at least not without some serious damage.”
Conrad’s project wasn’t just about City N’s economy. The higher-ups were giving it special attention, and all the companies involved were doing everything they could to make it happen.
Nelson was furious. “So you’ve taken revenge on behalf of your mistress and achieved your goal. What more do you want?”
“The conditions we agreed on before… I want to double the amount.”
“That’s impossible! This is Daisy’s dowry; our family has already given extra.”
“Mr. Nelson, it seems like you don’t understand. I’m not negotiating, I’m informing you.”
“…Conrad, you’ve gone too far! Does my daughter have to marry you?!”
“The contract has been signed. You don’t have to agree if you don’t want to, but I can’t say what will happen to your family then.”
Nelson was shaking with rage. “You… you’re bullying us!”
“Either you bring it to me yourself, or I’ll come to get it. It might take a little effort, but I’ll manage.”
“Have you lost your mind?! Our two families are sharing the same core technology now! If you want to break up, you’ll regret it!”
Conrad twirled the lighter in his hand, his handsome face cold as ice. “Then try it. Let’s see if your family falls apart first, or if I end up with everything.”
The call ended, and Nelson, shaking with anger, reached for his blood pressure medication.
Martin quickly came over. “Dad, what’s going on?”
Nelson clutched his chest, looking at his children. Not one of them was reliable.
If he died, Conrad would swallow up the White family for sure.
That guy didn’t care about anyone!
That night, Nelson called his old friends, but only a few were willing to help.
The next day, news broke that the White Family Group’s stock had crashed because of Daisy’s scandal, and Nelson ended up in the emergency room.
When he woke up, he immediately tried to contact Conrad.
“What do you want from me?!”
“I told you last night. Double the amount. Also, I want all the core technology. I won’t share it with you anymore.”
“You didn’t say that last night!”
“You can always choose not to agree.”
“…Fine, but I have a condition.”
“Go ahead.”
“The contract must be signed on the day of the engagement. It can’t be any earlier or any later.”
