“Alejandro,” Jasira called soberly into the phone, Her eyes searched frantically around for any threat, the lone road with thick forest on each side of the road sent chills down her spine.
“I don’t know where I am, I was kidnapped and left alone in a very quiet area, everywhere was chilling. I’m scared, I’m really scared, Alejandro,” She sobbed into the phone and a loud sigh resounded in her ear.
“Stay where you are,” Alejandro said curtly before he hung up.
Jasira sighed scared, she could hear the hard beating of her heart in her chest. She wrapped her hand around her body protectively, she pressed her thumbs against her skin tightly. The reason she thought she should call Alejandro still baffled her, he scared her but still, she felt safe with him by her side.
She pressed the hallow of her bag and felt the puzzle box. “Bastard.” She muttered under her breath. The idiot was making way into her head bit by bit, turning her into a fool of herself and she even fought her mother because of one stupid tattoo.
She was hurt her mother lied to her but looking at her reasons, she was only trying to protect her from things she didn’t know about. Things that could hurt her but thinking about it, is she ready for the truth? The continuous honking coming towards her side snapped her out of her thoughts.
Her heart skipped a bit when a white Mercedes Benz parked beside her. Is she being kidnapped again, she fixed her eyes on the tinted glass as the driver’s side opened and Maxwell stepped out.
There was a sting in her heart. Why did she put so much hope that Alejandro was going to be here? She dropped her hand from her body and walked to him.
“Maxwell,” She greeted with courtesy which he responded with a curt nod. She didn’t wait for his command before she slid into the passenger seat, fastened her seat belt, and waited for him to enter.
The drive to the mansion was an intense silent one. She stared out through the window throughout. Would Alejandro hurt her if she got home? No! He won’t be that wicked.
“Boss said to meet him in his room now.” Maxwell’s cold order sent shivers to her core.
“Oh… okay.” Her voice shook lightly at the order. She inhaled deeply before stepping down from the car.
She didn’t glance back till she stood before her door, She knew she should have gone to Alejandro immediately but one part of her told her to hide the puzzle box.
She dropped the tote bag in a corner of her closet before scurrying out of her room to meet Alejandro.
Her heart kept thudding hard in her chest as she slid into his room gently. Her eyes did a quick scan around the room and found him sitting on his desk. He raised his head from his laptop when he heard her coming in.
His eyes scanned through her for any wound and there was nothing on her, Why was he relieved about that? Gosh! He hates this.
He strode to her In his heavy steps and stopped in her front, he raised her chin with his thumb so she would stare into his eyes.
Jasira’s heart skipped when he made her stare into those emotionless eyes. They were cold and burned holes into her body.
“How on earth did you get yourself kidnapped?” He snapped grabbing her chin.
“Just one mission and you couldn’t even do it right.”
Jasira stared at him unbelievably, this was the last thing she expected from the devil. He didn’t even give a fuck about her life? What kind of a bastard is he?
“You… you are unbelievable!” She spat as she wriggled out of his hold but he grabbed her chin tighter. So hard that his long fingers dug into her skin.
She winced and a low sob left her mouth. Alejandro only increased the pressure.
“How could you only care about a stupid lifeless tracker when I could get killed? You sent me on a dangerous mission and you could care less about my safety.”
“How can you not care about me?” She cried frustrated. Tears filled the rim of her eyes.
A low chuckle rumbled from Alejandro’s chest. “I’m a devil, I don’t have a heart.” He smirked and made his finger digger longer into her skin making her wince loudly in pain.
“I caused people pain, I’m selfish, self-centered, and will do anything to get anything I want.” Venom dripped from his voice at each word. His blue eyes turned darker and darker with every moment and lack of emotion.
“I don’t feel feelings cause it useless.”
Jasira was not shocked at all instead she felt the urge to argue with him, and told him he had a heart carved in a stone somewhere in his chest. It just needs to be free.
“You have a heart, my lord. I knew life was beating in your chest.” She stared into his eyes warmly and dimmed her voice.
“I have seen you with your mom, you valued her, you cherished her.
Alejandro scoffed, that shit doesn’t work on him.
“That’s my mother, she sacrificed a lot for me and you_” He trailed off leaving her chin that was now ruddy and hurting.
“Are nobody to me, I bought you for sex only and nothing more.”
There was a bang in her head, a painful thud in her chest. Her eyes brimmed with tears and her legs weakened at his words. Bastard!
But instead of yelling in his face, she smiled and said.
“I know. But how will you feel if I die?”
“What if he killed me today? You will get another sex girl right but will she bake you cookies, Will your mother like her, Will she be as pretty as me?”
Alejandro’s eyes twitch for a second before it is back to its usual self.
“Yeah, I will get another sex girl and I don’t give a fuck about the rest.”
Jasira let out a dry laugh. “You are lying!”
“How sure are you to know that?” He questioned coldly.
Jasira took a short at his desk and her eyes met with his golden pistol. She smirked at the dangerous thought in her head. It was dangerous, she could die but she still walked to it and picked it up.
The cold metal made her tremble, She was scared of guns because of her trauma but she still walked to him and pointed it at him.
“Kill me then!”
“What!” Alejandro asked gobsmacked. Is she out of her mind?
“Kill me, Alejandro,”
“Are you out of your mind?” He half yelled snatching the gun from her.
“Kill me, Alejandro, so you can be free.”
Alejandro chuckled and pointed the gun at her.
“Jasira,” He drawled out in warning.
“Did you think I can’t kill you?” He smirked as he brushed his hand across the gun.
“I can and I will.”
“Do it then.”
“Your wish then.” He scoffed before firing a bullet into her shoulder joint. Jasira gasped out for air as she slowly slumped to the ground.
The pain hit her with full force and her wound stung. A bright color red liquid flew out of her clothes and made a pool underneath her.
Her heart hinged and her breath slowly faded away. The past her would fight for her life but the present her was tired of fighting. This was not the type of life she dreamed of having and she was ready to drop everything and rest.
She embraced the darkness that overwhelmed her but before she was lost completely in the darkness, she heard someone shouting her name faintly.
Alejandro was stunned as he watched her lose consciousness on the floor. She gave up because of a bullet. He walked briskly to her and crouched to her level.
He could feel her faint breath. Watching her lying lifelessly on the floor caused a tiny sting in his heart.
Will he really be hurt if she dies? Of course not, she was just like every other girl. He picked her up in his arms. Her head fell off his arm with her hair covering her face. Her face ran out of colors, and her full pink lips that always enticed him looked pale and dull.
She looked dead and the sight of her not breathing in his arm sent memories to his head. Memories he buried deep down in his head.
No, Jasira can’t die. She still has a lot of mission to carry out for him. He increased his pace towards the elevator.
Maxwell who was coming inside the manor rushed towards him and collected blooded Jasira from his arm.
“Take her to the clinic.” He ordered hastily.
Alejandro’s eyes followed him till he was no more in sight. His eyes dropped to his blood-filled palm and his stained clothes.
He shook his head, Jasira was really bold to dare him with her life, she would know her space after this.
