Jasira sat on the bed with her legs interwined with each other like a monk and in her front was her laptop. She watched it with adoration because it was the most precious thing she have, it contained a lot of secrets, lot of information she must not lose and behind a night waitress was also a hacker. A good one at it.
Determination to get revenge made her started learning hacking secretly when she was a teenager. She has got some information pertaining her family tragedy but the most important information was specially wipe up, like who the killer was and who sent the killer. Nothing was available and it irritate her gut.
She hissed annoyed when the site she was working on suddenly became blank, that was how it usually end up, she would be almost there only to lose it all when she was almost done. She pushed the laptop away angrily with her leg annoyed at everything.
“Nonsense.” She cursed closing the laptop before crawling out of the bed to hide the laptop back to its place.
Her eyes caught up with the new phone laying peacefully on her dresser when she was done hiding the laptop, her heart skipped upon sighting it. His generosity was suspicious and gave her goosebumps yesterday so she dismantled the phone and she was right, he laced it with a tracking chip. He proved her right, he would never do anything without being calculative and the thing being in his favor.
She pocketed the phone, she was just going to act like she knew nothing about the tracker. She felt a gnawing sensation In her stomach, a sure sign she must found something to eat immediately and constant reminder that she hadn’t eating anything in hours. She slammed the door closed behind her as she walked wobbily to the kitchen, she didn’t knew how she was going to face Amy for leaving her just like that yesterday, after her ordeal with Alejandro, she suddenly felt tired and just retired to bed losing all the vibe to talk to anybody.
She cracked the door gently trying not to gained any attention to herself but she failed because immediately she stepped in Amy turned back with reflex but relief washed over her when she sighted her by the threshold.
“Are you okay?” Amy asked standing up from the stool she sat on, Jasira cringed hating the pity in her voice, the pity on her face but she gave a nod with a smile hiding her diddain and strolled into the heart of the kitchen where she was.
“Sorry for leaving you alone yesterday.”
“I understand.” Amy shrugged with a smile tipping on her face before she walked to the refrigerator and brought out a pack of homemade cookies in a plastic pack.
“Here is yours after I baked it.”
“Really? You baked it?” She questioned with bulged eyes with surprise writing all over her face, she had thought she was going to dispose it since she left it undone and never returned to the kitchen again.
Amy snorted playfully, “Of course, I can’t let all your effort waste just like that.”
“Thank you.” Jasira muttered still dazed as she stretched to collect it from her.
She gawked at the mini transparent container in her hand, she really stored it perfectly, she even help her cut the dough into shapes, it may be in circles and love shape only but it still made her heart flutter.
She picked out the love-shaped cookies and gave them to her. The love-shaped irked her because she stopped believing in love since everything that happened in her past.
“You don’t like them?” Amy asked pouting sadly.
Yes. If only she could said that to her. Anytime she ate cookies, she’d have flashback of when she was young and there was no way she was telling her that. She only accept to her duet because of the bet and anything to kept her mind away from Alejandro.
“Of course, not.” She answered instead. “I just want to appreciate you.” She added with a small smile.
“I will be back.” She quickly announced leaving for her room holding the container tightly.
Flashback of yesterday rushed to her mind as she passed through the hallway where he caged her to yesterday. Goosebumps rab through her body and she exhale rapidly. His words played on her mind and she shivered, his words would soon be the death of her if she couldn’t found solution to her dilemma quickly. If she squited her eyes very well, she was sure she was going to see her dried wetness on the creamy painted wall.
Her stomach rumbled pushing the thought away from her mind reminding her that she forgot to eat something when she went to the kitchen earlier. She had no choice but to ate out of the cookies, she stared at the beautifully baked cookies in a container for a while before she had the courage to throw one in her mouth. Her eyes went shut as she salivate the taste. It’s had been years she ate or made cookies and eating it now made her miss everything about her part. She still got her mother’s recipe even though it was not exactly like hers.
She hated the fact that every little thing remind her of her past, and to think that she was camped up in this stupid white manor annoyed her. She won’t be able to carried out her revenge if she still stay here.
Breathing in and out, she made up her mind to strike another deal with the devil. A deal that either save her or got her into another fresh trouble.
“Where are you going?” The deep baritone voice resounded behind her and she halted her steps quickly, tightening her hold against the plastic container. She inhale, exhale before she turned to her intruder.
“Maxwell.” She called blankly.
“I asked a question?”
I knew and I decided not answer it. She swallowed the words in her head and raised her shoulder a bit. If not that the question was outrageous, she was literally standing in front of Alejandro door.
“To Ale… boss’s room.” She corrected herself immediately. Though Maxwell caught but decided to neglect it and asked his next question.
“What are you holding?”
Jasira rolled her eyes under his scrutiny before she spoke up. After Alejandro, Maxwell ranked the second person she hated in this manor. Exuding stupid coldness like his boss.
“Cookies. Will you like one?” She jabbed with a raised brow.
Maxwell shot her a glare before he shook his head.
“Go ahead, only protecting your fragile self.” He said muttering the last words to himself.
Jasira studied him for a while wondering what he whispered to himself. She glanced at him trying to read his mind but who was she kidding? His face was as blank as nothing.
She turned down his door knob and her jaw dropped seeing the scene before her.
