Tristan’s POV
I didn’t want to leave Elona all by herself, but I had to respect her too. She hates me and I don’t blame her. It crushes my heart to know that she won’t see me as the man she loves. I just wish that the situation was different. I cannot change the past, and now I have to deal with a woman that I don’t even want in this house. At least she will be here for a week, and then I’m putting her out. She just knows how to push all my buttons and don’t let me get started on Cris.
I entered my house, Maggie was sitting at the dinner table working on her laptop. “I was about to look for you,” she said.
I walked further towards the dinner table, “I am not your child. I don’t appreciate that you speak to me this way in my house. What the hell are you on about? Telling people that we are engaged when that is far from the truth,” I hissed at her.
She smirked, “It will happen eventually, so I might as well tell people,” she shrugged, and then she continued to type on her laptop.
“You are…” I sucked in a deep breath, trying to calm down from the anger that was brewing up inside of me. “I will say something that I might regret. I am getting someone to take care of you and that means you will be out of my house,” I said.
“Tristan, I’m pregnant with your child. That is no way to treat me like I’m rubbish.”
“That’s because you are!” I roared at her.
She stood up, “Well, you slept with this rubbish,” she hissed back and made her way past me. I let out a breath and pulled a chair out of the table and took a seat.
I don’t want this life, I cannot live with this woman under my roof, it won’t work. I just can’t do this anymore. An innocent child is going to suffer because of this situation. I don’t even want to look at Maggie, but she makes me sick to even look at her. She still taunts Elona and I won’t have that.
Her phone chimed with the screen lighting up on the table. There was something that caught my eye in that text. I reached for her phone.
Doctor Peters: I cannot keep this charade up with you. No matter how much you are paying me. I don’t want to do this to Tristan.
I furrowed my brows as I read the entire text thread.
Doctor Peters: I got the paternity results back, I changed the results. The baby is not Tristan’s. I think you have to tell the real father about the baby. Please, don’t do this to Tristan. He trusts me with his life.
Maggie: I don’t care about that. I am paying you more than enough to lie to him.
Doctor Peters: You will go to hell for this.
I couldn’t read any further. My blood was boiling ten times worse. I stood up with the chair screeching just as Cris and Eric entered, “Dad, are you okay?” Cris furrowed her brows.
Maggie joined us now, “I want you to take your fucking things and get out of my house.” I demanded. Maggie stopped in her tracks, her eyes were huge.
“Dad, why are you being mean to Maggie-”
“Shut the fuck up!” I glared at Cris, and she took a step back.
“Why?” Maggie asked.
“You paid hefty amounts to Doctor Peters to change the paternity results. I’m not the father. So, I want you to take your things and leave immediately,” I was on the verge of exploding.
“Are you sure, Dad?” Cris asked. I glared at Cris once more.
“I will deal with you after this,” I warned her, and she looked down, guilty. Eric was just observing the situation.
Maggie packed up her laptop, “How will I get home?” Maggie asked.
“You can call the father of the child to get you. You are not putting a foot in my car and my house again, and you stay the fuck away from Elona,” I pointed a finger at her. She was like a dog with its tail between her legs. All this shit to break Elona and me apart. All this to have me for herself, to make my life miserable. I ruined a woman’s heart because of her, and I’m relieved that this is no longer going to be my life.
“Eric, please help Maggie to get her things and leave them on the sidewalk,” I demanded and walked down the hallway until I reached the study room.
I need to see Doctor Peters. He betrayed me with the trust I had for him. He was the doctor that always made a way for Estelle and me. I can’t believe that Maggie paid him to lie to me about something like this. What a way to trap a man, Maggie. I sat behind my desk and rested my elbows on the desk. This was her plan all along, and now I have to fight to get Elona back which I don’t think she will ever take me back after the way that I hurt her.
I can blame myself for the breakup. David wouldn’t allow me to be with her again and I lost both of them. I don’t know where Elona will be after graduation. Will she move away or remain here? I wanted to know so that I can fight for her with everything that I had to win her heart.
I took my phone out of my pocket, and dialed a number, placing the phone against my ear. The phone rang, “Good day-”
“I need to make an appointment and cut the crap with your bullshit lies,” I hissed.
Doctor Peters was unsure of what to say next, “Um, Mr Crane, right?” he asked hesitantly.
“The one and only,” I stated.
“Uh, okay. I can see you around 1 pm tomorrow.”
“I will see you there,” I hung up.
There was a knock on the door before it was opened, “Maggie left,” Cris said softly.
“Good,” I replied.
“Do you want to talk about it?” she asked hesitantly.
Do I want to talk about it? I was running on fumes. I stood up from my chair and pondered because if I was going to talk to her, it wouldn’t be pretty at all. I don’t care how things sound to her, but she will feel my fucking wrath after everything.
“Since you were chatting to Maggie, were you the one to inform her of our doctor?” I asked.
“Yes, Dad,” she admitted.
“So, take a fucking seat because now I will be dealing with you.”
