Bianca looked at the bushes where Dave had thrown the necklace. She hid her suitcase in a secret place and began searching.
She knelt down and carefully searched through the bushes for the necklace.
People passing by couldn’t help but comment as they walked past.
“She’s damaging the plants! How rude!”
“People these days!”
“Should we call security?”
“Let it go. It’s not our problem.”
Ignoring the whispers around her, Bianca only cared about finding the red diamond necklace.
She wanted to return it to Dave. The thought of it being thrown away so carelessly upset her.
It felt as though, by discarding the necklace, she was also letting go of the emotions she had buried for so long…
She carefully searched through the bushes, her hands getting dirty and covered in mud. Despite the mess, she clearly remembered when Dave gave her the necklace.
He had knelt down, gently placed the necklace around her neck, and said, “From this moment, you belong with me.”
She remembered how, in the church, she had wrapped the necklace around her ring finger like a makeshift ring and said, “I do.”
It wasn’t just any necklace. It held countless memories of the time they spent together.
The thought of losing it made Bianca felt lost, shattering her heart completely. Tears fell from her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away with her muddy hand and kept searching.
Then, among the weeds, she spotted the necklace, partly buried.
A felt relieved as she carefully pulled it out of the dirt and held it close to her chest like a precious treasure.
“Thank goodness, it’s safe…”
Feeling calm, Bianca stood up, brushed the mud off her clothes, grabbed her suitcase, and left the bushes.
But as she walked away, security guards came toward her.
“Miss, we’ve received reports about you damaging the plants. Could you tell me which apartment you’re from? We need to follow our policies and apply penalties.”
Just then, one of the security guards recognized Bianca. He had been the one to greet her when Dave first brought her to the complex.
He quietly said something to his colleague, who raised his eyebrows in surprise. After looking closely at Bianca, his attitude softened.
“Miss, after discussing it, we’ve decided to let it go since this is your first mistake. Just be more careful next time.”
With that, the two security guards walked away as if nothing had happened.
Residents of this prestigious complex were usually wealthy or influential, so the guards were used to accommodating such people.
Bianca hadn’t realized this before, but now she understood that they had let her go because of her connection to Dave.
She frowned and called out to the guards as they walked away. “I don’t actually live here.”
The guards stopped and turned, looking confused.
Bianca walked up to them and said firmly, “I’m not connected to anyone here. I’m ready to face whatever consequences your rules require.”
The security guards exchanged confused looks, unsure of what to say. Wasn’t she engaged to that powerful man?
Then they noticed Bianca’s suitcase, realizing she might be leaving after some kind of argument.
With that thought, the guards felt less concerned.
Their faces became serious again. “Okay, please follow us.”
Bianca stood her ground, showing no sign of backing down, and walked with them.
As Dave drove by, he saw Bianca walking out of the security office. A security guard had just spoken to her rudely, and she walked away with her suitcase, looking disheveled and a little lost.
Worried, Dave parked the car and headed toward the security office.
Dressed in a tailored suit, he entered the office with a strong, commanding presence.
The security guards, surprised by his arrival, quickly put on friendly smiles. “Sir, how may we help you today?” one of them asked.
In this high-end neighborhood, the security guards were used to dealing with influential people and were always polite and eloquent.
Some of the security guards had even made money by serving these high-profile residents.
They knew that driving for an important person could be more rewarding than their current jobs.
Because of this, they always paid extra attention to those who seemed influential.
Though they didn’t know Dave’s exact position, his expensive car, his assistant’s frequent presence, and his strong aura made it clear he was someone important.
As Dave walked in, the security guards’ smiles grew wide.
Dave looked at them coldly. “What happened with the woman who just left?” he asked coldly.
The two security guards looked at each other, confused by what Dave meant.
One guard thought for a moment before speaking. “Earlier, that lady was purposely damaging the plants. Our rules say she should be punished for that. Since it’s her first offense and she’s your fiancee, we were going to let it slide. But then she said…”
He stopped, waiting for Dave’s reaction.
“What did she say?” Dave asked in a worried voice.
The guard paused, then said, “She said she’s no longer living here and doesn’t belong to anyone here. She insisted on taking the punishment.”
“And why was she damaging the plants?” Dave asked.
“We asked her, but she didn’t answer. However, I overheard another resident say she seemed to be looking for something in the bushes,” the guard responded.
“Looking for something?” Dave’s expression sharpened, and his eyes now focused on questioning the guards.
His mind raced. He thought about the red diamond necklace he had thrown away. She had ended their relationship and left the necklace behind.
So why was she searching for it now?
There she was, standing strong before him, only to turn and search through the bushes as if desperately looking for that very necklace.
Could it be that she saw the necklace’s value and couldn’t let go of it?
Or was she just trying to play a game, a way to keep him interested?
He chuckled softly, almost to himself, as he realized how ridiculous his search for answers had become.
From this point on, he and Bianca would part ways. He had let her go, so her reasons didn’t matter.
Whatever she wanted was no longer his problem.
With that thought, he walked away.
A voice stopped him. It was the guard calling from behind. “Sir, do you want to remove the lady’s facial data from the system?”
The complex used facial recognition for security. If her data was removed, she wouldn’t be able to enter.
