Priya looked at Priyank, who showed no expression. She could understand what Maya and everyone meant; she clearly needed to learn, but that didn’t mean she was ready to learn fighting.
She knew she had to protect herself, and Priyank had saved her by putting his life at stake, so it was kind of useless if she would rely on him when they weren’t even on good terms.
Moreover, if she was certainly not ready to use Priyank for curse-breaking, then how could she take his help in other things? It was quite nonsensical.
She didn’t know how to take it as a whole. On a higher scale, it was helpful, but on a lower scale, it was not.
She was scared for her life, and that wasn’t going to help in any way because the attack was meant for her, and seeing the situation, she could see how there would be more of them.
She just couldn’t pull it off or save herself if she didn’t learn to fight, but she knew her body best, and she was kind of weak to learn things like this – that’s why she found it so scary.
“Priya, I know it’s not something you wanted, but now you know everything, and even if you wanted to, there is no going back. You need to adapt as soon as possible, and you have to protect yourself,” Maya reasoned.
Priya just looked at her. She could read Maya’s expressions and knew that Maya just wanted the best for her, but somehow, she felt this was the worst.
Literally, she couldn’t pull herself out? Not that she was thinking of doing so, but worst of all, she didn’t want to wait and find out.
Her parents had died protecting this pack, and she had been away from everything for 18 years without knowing her real identity. Now that she was getting to know one thing for sure, she couldn’t drop herself off from this.
Here’s the edited version with improved grammar:
“I don’t usually agree to learn it without a wolf, but after the attack, it feels like a good option,” Elk remarked.
Priya sighed, looking at him. He was already on her radar, and she thought he might be the culprit behind the attack. But now, the way he was telling her to learn to protect herself kind of let him off the hook.
“Dad is right. This world is way more dangerous. Levi and I are both waiting to have our wolves too. We can learn with you, Priya. You are not alone. Right, Levi?” Rish smiled as he tried to cheer up the situation.
“Yes, totally. Priya, Rish, and I, the three of us can learn together. We also need to be trained,” Levi agreed with her brother.
Priya looked at Rish and Levi, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Knowing that she wouldn’t be alone in this situation, which made the prospect of learning to fight a little less daunting.
“Thank you, both of you,” Priya said, a genuine smile spreading across her face. “It means a lot to me that you’re willing to go through this together.”
Rish grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “Of course, Priya! It’s gonna be good.”
Levi nodded in agreement, her expression serious but determined. “He is right, we will learn with all our heart.”
Elk cleared his throat, drawing their attention back to him. “I’m glad you three are willing to support each other, but remember, training isn’t going to be easy. You’ll have to push yourselves and be prepared for the physical and mental challenges that come with it.”
Maya, who had been listening to the conversation, stepped forward. “I’ll be here to guide you through the training process. We’ll start with the basics and gradually build up your skills and strength. It won’t happen overnight, but with dedication and perseverance, you’ll be able to hold your own in no time.”
“I will help Maya too,” Jackson stated.
“When do we start?” Priya asked, her voice filled with newfound determination.
Maya smiled, pleased to see Priya’s eagerness. “We’ll begin tomorrow morning. Get a good night’s rest, and be prepared to work hard. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover.”
“I wanted to learn too. Now that I am her mate, I need to know how to protect her, myself, and the people who are in need,” Priyank spoke. As a mafia member, he had learned a lot of skills and used to train in fighting every week.
But then again, he didn’t want to leave Priya alone, and he wanted to be part of her practice. After the attack, he learned that he was not as strong as he thought, so there was no way he could just sit idly by. He needed to learn too.
Priya turned to Priyank, surprised by his willingness to join their training. Despite their complicated relationship, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of comfort knowing that he would be by her side, learning to protect not only her but also himself and others.
First, he protected her from the attack, and now he wanted to learn more skills. She had to admit that not everything inside him was bad; there were good things too. Though he was scary most of the time, impulsive too, and loved threatening her if she didn’t listen to him, which she didn’t in a lot of cases.
But she couldn’t deny that some of his actions were really heart-touching, and it was quite concerning that she was feeling that way.
Before, the way he offered her the option to leave with him if she wanted, the way he protected her, the way he behaved well in the hospital, and the way he protected her at Lucas’s house – there was no denying that she was seeing him in a different light than he usually was.
“If you want, then it’s not an issue, but you already seem like a good fighter. The way you blocked the attack was clearly commendable,” Jackson praised, his voice filled with a hint of suspicion too.
“I am in the Mafia, that’s why. A lot of people don’t know about that, but you all should know that I work with and have connections in the underworld. I myself am a renowned member of the Mafia and a skilled fighter.”
