Chapter 207 My Girl Is Running Off

Book:Let Me Go, Sugar Daddy Published:2025-3-2

Lillian was taken to the hospital. George came over to check on her, but the emergency room was empty.
George frowned and grabbed a busy nurse. “Where is she?”
“What patient? Oh, sorry, Dr. George, we’ve had a construction site collapse tonight. Over forty people, along with their families, are looking for people.”
George’s heart sank as he released the nurse.
It didn’t take a guess to know-Lillian was gone again.
He checked the surveillance footage and confirmed she had left. Returning to his office to inform Conrad, he found a letter she had left behind.
This time, Lillian had driven herself out.
She’d bought a car from a secondhand market, just a car that could get her on the highway, with a temporary license plate.
She wasn’t sure where to go, just followed the highway and took turns whenever she made a wrong move.
Unexpectedly, she had been driving for quite some time, only stopping briefly at a service area, but there had been no movement since.
But based on past experiences, Lillian didn’t dare to be careless.
After finding an old, abandoned bus station, she followed the address Kama had given her and found a man, who helped with cargo transportation.
The car continued on, while the secondhand car was left behind at the original spot.
Lillian carried her suitcase, which contained all her belongings.

When Conrad found out that Lillian had run away again, although he had suspected it, he still couldn’t help but get angry. His face darkened as he coldly mocked the situation, then went to the balcony to smoke a cigarette.
He wasn’t in City N at the moment, and things were complicated and demanding.
After thinking for just a minute, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number.
“Senior Sister.”
“Why are you calling me? You have time for this?” The voice on the other end sounded surprised. “Do you have a favor to ask?”
The voice added, “Let me be clear first-Paul’s business is something I don’t interfere with. You know, the finances between a husband and wife are always clearly divided. If you’re trying to use my connections to get him to give you more profit, I only can tell you that I can’t make those decisions for him”
“That’s not the issue. We’re talking business, nothing to discuss there. I’m not petty like that.”
“Then what’s the issue?” The woman on the other end asked with curiosity.
“My girl is being reckless and running off. She’s probably heading toward your area, so keep an eye on her. Once I settle things here, I’ll come get her, but there’s no need to handle everything for her. She may seem weak, but she’s cunning and can survive anywhere. Just make sure no one bullies her and help clear up any connections she needs.”
Conrad continued, “She has some spare money. It’s not enough for big projects, but it should be fine for small ones. But as an outsider in that place, she doesn’t know anyone, so please help look out for her. Of course, don’t tell her that I asked you to help.”
The person on the other end listened as he rambled on for a couple of minutes.
Then, the woman laughed and said, “I’ve known you since you joined the army, and I’ve never heard you talk this much. If you weren’t the type to curse, I’d think you were mute. Looks like you just hadn’t met someone who’d make you worry enough to have so much to say.”
Michelle continued, “Alright, enough. You’re my junior, taught by the same master. Helping you out isn’t a big deal. Send me her info; it’s in H City, so don’t worry about your precious girl starving.”
Conrad swallowed hard. He wasn’t happy letting her be away for so long, but there was too much to handle right now.
Yet when he did bring her back, he knew she’d probably complain about it for a long time.

After Lillian arrived in H City, she didn’t dare rent a place, since big cities weren’t like small towns.
But this time, everything was strangely calm.
There’s no shortage of news about Conrad, with all sorts of updates on the new developments within the Brown Family Group.
Lillian found out he was in Australia and not in the country.
Meanwhile, Daisy seemed to be abroad, getting custom-made clothes and items for the engagement banquet.
Lillian hurriedly read through the messages, then quickly disappeared into the crowd.
After Kama took over her father’s factory, she rented a small space in the suburbs of H City, where Lillian stayed in the staff dormitory.
At first, Lillian helped with shipping and customer service, but once she relaxed, she began going out more.
When there was no sign of her being followed, Kama revealed the location of the physical store.
Lillian had always designed her store herself, with each collection having a unique theme. The wild animal-themed collection from last time had been particularly stunning.
Even large lingerie brands had contacted her, asking if she could invite two of their official models to collaborate.
Lillian couldn’t dare ask Conrad to come. So, she had to decline.
Since that time, the store hadn’t released anything new.
She even secretly logged into her store’s account, and after a few days with no sign of Conrad’s people, she finally felt a glimmer of freedom.
Lillian hadn’t expected that she would end up opening a physical store.
The money came from the dividends she earned from working with Kama over the years.
After two and a half years, Kama funded the store, while Lillian took charge of the decoration and operation.
Once the store had a physical location in H City, Lillian’s fanbase knew about it in a small, private circle.
Even before the store had officially opened, people were already eager to purchase from it.
Renovating her own store was a very unique experience.
Since her main clientele was young women, Lillian chose a distinctive style.
From packaging to the smallest details, she had full control. The busy life and work had long made her forget everything about City N.

Meanwhile, Evelyn had just completed her checkup at the hospital again.
She couldn’t wait to get in the car and call Hunter.
“What’s up?” Hunter responded impatiently.
“Do you know that Daisy and Conrad are getting engaged?”
“Everyone knows about that. Why are you asking me?” Hunter snapped. “Are you seriously wasting my time with this nonsense?”
Evelyn was furious. “They’re getting engaged. Doesn’t that mean they’re teaming up? How are you going to deal with Conrad? And Daisy-why does she get to be Mrs. Conrad? What about Lillian? I haven’t heard anything about her. Has she left? Do you want to send someone to bring her back?”
Hunter sneered coldly. “You think I don’t want to? That woman has people around her, official forces. Am I crazy enough to go after her?”
He was already in trouble and hiding out at sea, unable to show his face. He still had some connections in City N, and the people Conrad had offended were still willing to help him, but he couldn’t just go out there and grab Lillian, especially for that crazy woman who was acting all jealous.
“You better go and do the job I told you to do. The rest is none of your business.”
The phone slammed down.
Evelyn was so furious she was nearly in tears.
She was about to be taken in for a transplant, and she was going to be blind.
Meanwhile, Daisy was about to marry Conrad?!
What was Lillian doing? Her man got stolen, and she didn’t even know about it!
Now, everyone in City N was talking about how grand this engagement ceremony was going to be.
After all, the White family had booked an entire riverside hotel.
The best location, holding the engagement ceremony on a cruise ship.
It would be the center of attention for the whole city.
It was all in stark contrast to the recent slump.
There were so many bridal gown brands and diamonds waiting for her to choose from, Daisy could hardly keep up.
But she hoped that when she made her selection, Conrad would be there with her.
Unfortunately, he was always busy, and she knew it.
Right now, Brown Family Group had taken over the core tech research and development work.
Conrad was at the docks every day, and he had to travel abroad.
He was really busy.
But she, as his soon-to-be bride, wanted him to pay more attention to her.
Sadly, when she called Ford, the answer was always the same: he was busy, no time.
She felt uncertain.
Now, it was time to pick the engagement dress, and Daisy still wanted to contact him.
