Upon hearing Darnell’s words, Luca and the others were all surprised, exclaiming, “Seven Wolves?”
Darnell nodded with a smile, then took out his phone and sent a video to the three of them. They opened it and saw a scene of intense fighting.
It was the fierce video from the battle at Sunflower Hotel.
“This is the video of the fight where the Axe killed the besieged members of Seven Wolves.”
Darnell didn’t hide anything from them and revealed the setup from back then. “I used Noah’s weapon to kill Samuel, making Rex and his men think that it was Seven Wolves’ doing.”
“And then I informed the Axe about Noah’s whereabouts, causing them to turn on each other.”
Callum slapped his thigh and laughed, “I knew it! Samuel was killed by Mr. Halford.”
Luca chimed in, “After Samuel died, we received various pieces of information, including news of Seven Wolves’ actions, but Callum was convinced it was you.”
“He thought that only you had the ability to do something like that. Besides, Seven Wolves had no grudges with the Axe in the past, so why would they kill Samuel?”
Darnell burst into laughter upon hearing this, patting Callum’s shoulder and saying, “Callum, you know me too well.”
Then he returned to the main topic. “Although Seven Wolves know that the battle at Sunflower Hotel is related to the Axe, they haven’t seen this video footage and have no evidence.”
“So after the fight at Sunflower Hotel, although there were some clashes between the two sides, it wasn’t intense.”
“If Seven Wolves were to see this video and see the Axe killing their brothers, what kind of emotions do you think they would have?”
Luca spoke firmly, “They would undoubtedly seek revenge by any means necessary.”
Anyone who saw their enemies killing their own brothers like slaughtering pigs would undoubtedly be filled with hatred.
“Though Seven Wolves are outlaws, they’re outsiders. It’s difficult for them to inflict heavy damage on Rex and his gang in Whiteville.”
Darnell rubbed his fingers against his glass and said, “So if the Apex joins forces with them, they would surely be very welcoming.”
Nick’s eyes lit up. “Mr. Halford means for us to use this video to find people from Seven Wolves to cooperate with?”
Darnell nodded. “That’s right.”
“It’s a good plan.”
Luca slapped his thigh, a look of joy on his face. “Seven Wolves have a notorious reputation and won’t fear Rex. And their fighting power is astonishing.”
“If we can get them to join forces, it would definitely be helpful for the overall situation. The problem is that we’re not familiar with Seven Wolves, making it difficult to make contact with them…”
Callum also nodded. “And we still need a bargaining chip.”
“There is someone who can connect you with them and also serve as your bargaining chip.”
Darnell had a bright smile on his face as he pointed at a tall figure on the video who had killed many people. “Noah was arrested, and he will spend the rest of his life in prison.”
“But this big guy will eventually be released. After all, he has a clean record in police investigations, and his killings were in self-defense.”
“He is currently being held in Rockwood Penitentiary. He is highly regarded within Seven Wolves organization for his loyalty and brutal actions. His name is Martin.”
“You guys find a lawyer, spend some money, and get him out. Then you can establish contact with Seven Wolves.”
He then whispered another plan that made Gisselle and the others widen their eyes.
Luca opened his mouth wide and then gave a thumbs up. “Mr. Halford, you’re really taking every step carefully. Let me toast to you with this glass of wine.”
“You’ve solved another big problem for the Apex.”
“If we can cooperate with Seven Wolves this time and defeat Rex and his gang completely, the Apex will be at your disposal in the future, Mr. Halford.”
“Also, from now on, Mr. Halford will be an advisor to the Apex with an annual salary of five million dollars. Does anyone have any objections?”
Nick, Callum, and Gisselle raised their glasses. “No objections.”
Darnell didn’t hesitate and raised his glass for a toast. Then he took a sip and said, “You’re so polite, Luca. I won’t decline then.”
Three generous gifts were received, so what does an annual salary of five million matter? And being just an advisor without having to fight or kill anyone was great.
At that moment, one of the Apex members ran over: “Boss, we just received news that five hundred members of Iron Guard from the Axe have gathered together. They are all equipped with large cleavers.”
“They’ve been training day and night at an industrial plant in the suburbs these past few days. The training grounds they’ve set up are our three most important territories.”
“It seems like they’re planning to cut off our biggest source of income.”
He added, “According to intelligence reports, they might make a move within these two days.”
Luca furrowed his brows. “So soon?” Then he shouted, “Close down our three locations for now and send two teams over there.”
“No matter what happens, make sure we hold onto these three locations. If necessary, even call the police.”
The Apex member responded quickly, “Yes.”
“Luca, just defending isn’t a good solution,” Darnell spoke up, narrowing his eyes slightly. “Not only have they scattered our forces, but we’re also on the defensive, unable to launch any proactive attacks against the Axe.”
Luca sighed, “Right now, they are stronger than us. What else can we do besides defend? Let’s deal with this current situation first before finding an opportunity to turn things around.”
With his recent recovery from illness and facing internal and external troubles, Luca mainly hoped to survive this crisis.
“We can go on offense instead of defense,” Darnell suggested.
“If we take the initiative first, not only can we disrupt their attack plans but also deal a heavy blow to them.”
Luca looked up with a smile. “Mr. Halford has a strategy?”
Darnell calmly replied, “If you trust me, how about giving me full command of the Apex for two days?”
Luca was momentarily stunned but then burst into laughter. “Not just two days-two years, ten years, or even forever would be fine. As long as Mr. Halford can help us get through this crisis, it doesn’t matter.”
“Callum, Nick, and Gisselle, listen up. From now on, Mr. Halford will have full command over the Apex.”
“You must obey orders unconditionally.”
Callum and others stood up straight. “Understood.”
At that moment, Darnell became unquestionably the leader of the Apex.
At 8:30 PM, Darnell, having sorted through the information on both gangs, stood in a study that Luca had specially cleared out for him.
He looked at the map on the wall, which depicted the tangled web of territories, and then at the pitifully small area controlled by the Apex. A headache began to form as he realized the disparity between the two gangs wasn’t just in the quality of their members but also in their structure and management.
The Apex was simply too weak.
Darnell almost doubted how the Apex had survived this long. Perhaps it was due to the ongoing power struggle between Carlos and Rex, or maybe the barren resources of Northmoor had played a role.
Regardless, Darnell promised Luca to help the Apex survive this crisis. His goal wasn’t just for the Apex but also for Woodsea’s long-term interests.
If the Axe were to take over Northmoor, Woodsea would likely face another brutal conflict.
Nearby, Callum, Gisselle, and Nick stood ready, their eyes burning with a rare glimmer of hope.
“Pierce is in charge of the sex industry, Jorge manages gambling, Daisy oversees drugs, and Valentin handles entertainment.”
Darnell read the information posted on the wall, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. “The Axe’s division of labor is quite clear.”
Nick asked excitedly, “Mr. Halford, which one should we take out first?”
“We’re not making a move.” Darnell shook his head, then turned to Callum. “Have the two moles we captured send a message to the Axe.”
“Tell Rex that the Apex is teaming up with Seven Wolves, and today, we’ll bail out Martin.”
Callum’s eyes lit up. “Understood.”
“Ding!”
Just as Darnell finished giving his orders, his phone rang. Before he could speak, a sultry yet slightly drunken voice came through.
“Hey, handsome, come pick me up at the Twilight.”
Darnell was momentarily stunned. “Who is this?”
The seductive voice was intoxicating. “It’s me, Abbigail!”
Darnell picked up his tea and took a sip. “Who?”
“Your goddess in your heart! The one you want in bed,” she replied coquettishly while giggling flirtatiously.
Spurt-
Darnell spat out his tea onto the floor.
