” He is the first descendant of Lord Sage.” as if he sensed my face, he suddenly turned his face toward us, and I felt his eye on me. I didn’t stare away even though his gaze seemed intense, his eyes were a bit grayish.
” That is lord Callicious.”Sophia stepped away from the side the moment Madeline appeared beside me.
I turned to look at her and still I could feel him staring at me.” He is the biological father of Lord Sage’s grandsons.” I immediately understood Sean, the asshole Kane and the cold freak Caleb. I knew Roman was only related to Sage because his mother was a half-demon, so I knew Roman wasn’t Callicious’ son but just like Sage, Callicious has something in common with Roman.
” You should be careful around him especially since he is back.” I didn’t understand what she meant but I understand she didn’t want me anywhere close to him.
” Don’t you think it’s time I leave here?” If Roman didn’t trust his family, then why did he bring me here?
” I’m sorry, but only Alpha Roman can make that decision.” I was tired of staying angry with her. Madeline wasn’t bad. She treated me well, but I did not understand her.
Her royalty only belonged to Roman, and I have to respect that, but I wondered why she left her world to live in a werewolf world.
” Alpha Roman will come for you when the time is right.” I wish it would be soon, not because I hated the place but because I missed him.
” Madeline, ” I called, and she stopped in her tracks.” Is Roman alright?” she grabbed my hand.” He will be as long as you are safe.” She assured me, why did I feel she was hiding something from me?
‘ Well because she is.’ Eve sang and I rolled my eyes.
” Bella!” Sage’s voice resounded from downstairs. ” Lord Sage is calling out to you; make sure you stay away from him.” She stared past me, and I turned my head; I saw lord Callicious staring at me, no. He was looking at Madeline!
I thought it was weird, but I brushed it off as I walked down the stairs with Sophia behind me. ” Greetings.” I lowered my head a bit to Sage and he tapped my shoulder. ” You don’t have to,”
I said a small thank you.
” Who is this beauty, if I may ask.” My head snapped up and just like I thought, he was looking directly at me.
Grayish eyes and white long hair. Why did Madeline say those words? I didn’t know if it was because of what Madeline said, but I was a bit nervous.
” Hi, beautiful. I’m Callicious.” He stretched his hand.” Let me formally introduce her; she is Luna Bella.” Sage said and I saw his eyes narrowed.
” Luna?” He hemmed with a slight smile.
” My pleasure to meet you.” I narrowed my eyes when I realized he hadn’t given up; I took his hand, and for some reason, I felt he didn’t want to let go. ” Such a beauty.” He whispered; my eyes unconsciously landed on Caleb, who was standing at the side in a black suit.
Beside him was a slim woman dressed in a red gown. She seemed fascinated by the young demon even though Caleb wasn’t spearing her a glance.
Our eyes met for a few seconds before he stared away.
” You will look better in a more better outfit.” The asshole Kane spoke and Callicious started laughing. ” She is your cousin’s mate, Kane.” Why did I feel something wrong with his statement?
” But it doesn’t matter, as long as she is willing.” I frown, everything about this Callicious of a man was complicated. What did he mean by if I was willing?
” Lady Bella.” A woman I didn’t recognize approached us with a bow. ” The Lord has instructed me to fix you up.” I stared at my side, my gaze landed on Callicious who smiled at me before sipping his drink.
Was it he who ordered her?
Looking at him closely, I doubted it was him. The female came from that side; my eyes settled on Caleb, who was in the company of a beautiful woman, perhaps a demon.
Who could it be?
Lord Sage was chatting with a man right next to me, he was just a few steps away.
” I don’t think this is the right place to protest, Luna Princess.” Kane leaned against my ears and whispered.
I stepped back, feeling his breath against my ears.” Lady Bella, this way.” Sophia directed and I followed her.
We didn’t head to my room and instead went to a room nearby.
As expected, the room was small but not your usual small room. Everything inside fit perfectly well. ” Lady Bella.” The woman who led us here pointed to the dozens of dresses hanging on the dress stand.
” Please do make a choice; these dresses were hand-picked by the lord himself.” I was curious to know who, but based on what she just said, I could only guess and Sage was the only one that came into mind.
To not disappoint him, I serf through the beautiful limited edition dress and picked a red gown to try on.
The first one was a bit tight, the woman noticed my discomfort and immediately passed me the next one.
” It was a black gown that ran down to the ground level. What was with all this? I wasn’t even one of them, so why should I go through this stress?
” This one looks great on you, but you can try a different one if you are not comfortable with them.” The woman said and I shook my head.
I had tried too many dresses already, and I didn’t want to waste more time than I had. I could see she was already dressed up for the event.
” It’s okay, I will wear this one.” I ran my palm to my side, feeling the smooth texture of the fabric.
” I will leave then, lady Bella.” I nodded.
I stared at myself one last time in the mirror before walking out through the door.
As I stepped down in the heavy black ball gown, I could feel every eye in the room staring in my direction. I wasn’t sure whether it was because I was a werewolf or because I was too beautiful to be ignored either way.
The eyes on me felt intense as I approached the crowd further. How the hell did I end up here? I growled inside.
My life began in the shadow pack, where I was never enough or appreciated. ” You look awesome.” Sage was the first to walk towards me, and I appreciated his sincerity. He has been nothing but good to me.
I knew he was only good because of Roman, and I appreciate it.
I gave him a small smile as he took my hand and led me to the dance floor.
I was enjoying the little moment until Sage had to attend to some guests.
And the asshole Kane tried to take over his place as my dance partner. ” You are a beauty.” His flirting words were what annoyed the living light in me.
” I don’t want to dance anymore.” I gathered my dress in my hand and was about to leave when he grabbed my wrist.” Remember, Roman is cheating on you.” Eve growled in my head, ” Get your filthy hand off me.” I demanded and he chuckled.
” Do you need me to get you more pictures?”
I raised my right hand, and by the time I realized, the slap had already landed on his face, the hush sound drawing everyone’s attention.
The whole room went dead silent, a low growl slipped out of his mouth. His eyes turned dark but I didn’t take a step back.
Eve was trying to push forward; I could hear the whispers in the room but couldn’t hear my heartbeat.
My eyes moved around the room, taking in every face, but none of them seemed familiar.
