ANNABELLA’S POV
” Lord Sage.” A voice interrupted, and we both turned our heads. It was a man with a bold head, and he immediately knelt before Sage with his head down.
” Speak.” He ordered and the man lifted his head slightly but not daring to look up. ” The traitor that has been walking in our territory and leaking information to the outside has been found.” He informed him, and I could sense Sage’s whole dominae changing.
” I’m sorry this beautiful moment has to be cut short. I hope this won’t be the last.” He smiled at me before walking off with the man and disappearing through one of the doors.
I sighed as I turned to look at the river that was flowing its banks and was adorned with green plants.
‘ Do you think Roman brought us here to protect us?’ I asked Eve; I didn’t know what to think anymore because nothing was making sense from my perspective.
Why would I wake up in a demon territory all by myself?
What was Roman protecting me from? It was hard to make the right guess, I growled.
‘ Why don’t we try to find out why he brought us here?’ Eve suggested, and I thought she was right, but how would we do that?
Where were we going to start?
I sighed, standing with a confused look on my face. Here I was, thinking Sage would open up to me.” Don’t tell me you are planning to spend the rest of the day here,” the familiar voice came from behind, I didn’t lose the mockery in it.
‘ I don’t like him too.’ Eve giggled as I turned to face him.” I know I’m the last person you want to see around you.” He stared around the place before letting his eyes settle on me.” Why are you here?” He seriously couldn’t be following me, right?
” Sorry, Luna Princess, I’m only here on the Lord’s orders.” He casts me a toothy smile, and I rolled my eyes.” He is worried someone might try to…” his eyes ravished my body for a while before he settled for my face.
” So young and….” He tried to hold my hand but I stepped away.” Sorry, I forgot. My manners.” He took a step back.
” What do you want?”
” You don’t know?” He asked as if I was supposed to know.
He licked the corner of his lips and stepped forward. ” Roman can’t be the only one, can he?” I frowned at his words. What was he insinuating?
Was he accusing me of cheating?
” Come on, Luna Princess.” He stepped closer and I took a step back until my back hit the wall.
” Roman and I are brothers; I want to know why he is so much addicted to you.” He caged me against the wall.
” Whatever you have that is making him so crazy about you, I want to have a test.” I pushed him away with all my strength and slapped him across his face. ” Maybe I should tell Roman about this.” I tilted my head to the side, and he let out a growl.
” You really can’t live without him, do you?” He asked with a smirk, and I raised a brow, wondering where this conversation was going.
” Isn’t it what all this soul mate thing is about?” I replied with an equal expression.
” Aren’t you afraid he would choose his step-sister over you?”
” Are you investigating us?” I frowned, how the hell did he know about Juliet?
” You can’t put it that way.” He pulled a brown envelope from his back pocket.” Why don’t you find out yourself.” He grabbed my hand and shoved the envelope into my hand.
” Don’t be heartbroken.” He warned, my face holding the taught girl’s expression.
As much as I didn’t want to trust him, I couldn’t stop myself from opening it, I was curious to know what he meant.
I suck in air as I tore the lid open.
My eyes narrowed as I stared at the two familiar beings in the photo, sleeping on the same bed.
Here I was, worried about him; was I stupid to worry?
I sighed as I tried to hold back my tears.
My heart felt betrayed but my mind didn’t want to buy what was in the picture. Roman wouldn’t do that to me; my mind was screaming this sentence, but what else could be the truth if this wasn’t?
They were sleeping together after bringing me into this place!
My hand clenched around the photo as it slowly crumpled in my palm.
‘ That bitch!’ Eve growled.
‘ I don’t think she is the only one to be blamed.’ he brought me here without my permission just so he could be with his betrothed.
Why on earth did I believe he would choose me over his step-sister? How stupid was I to think he was doing this to protect me like I meant anything to him?
It has been days since I have been here, I needed a ran or maybe do something to relieve myself from the anger that was boiling inside me.
I changed into a tight pant and a short top and then asked Sophia to accompany me to the gym because I learned there was a gym at the next hall, which could be a five-minute walk from here.
As for that asshole, he hadn’t appeared before me again after he handed me the pictures. What a bastard. I hope he has achieved his motives and he will stay away from me.
I walked inside the gym in my perfect gym outfit. The room was huge enough to take more than two hundred people. They seemed to have enough training equipment as well. I didn’t know which one I was going to use because I wasn’t familiar with most of them.
Back in the pack, I only trained for a few weeks but I guess I could pick up from there.
I was about to jump in the running machine when I heard a noise coming from the other side, so I decided to go take a look.
He stopped when he sensed me behind him and then slowly turned to face me. I immediately recognized his face from the dining table.
He stared back at me for a while and resumed his training, punching the poor thing. I frowned but didn’t bother saying a word; he was no doubt one of Roman’s brothers.
” Why are you here?” He suddenly asked when I was about to turn away. ” What do you think I’m doing here?”
He pulled the boxing gloves from his hand and turned his face to me.
He seemed cold, just like Roman, and with gray eyes, matching his bloodline.
” You are here to work out?” He stared at me from top to bottom. ” Why do you need to work out?” I scoffed.
“Is that the only question you can ask?” he gazed intensely at me before looking away. “Be careful not to hurt yourself,” he said, shifting his gaze to my bare stomach.
Was he staring at my stomach?
