Chris declared calmly, “In my life, I only kneel to heaven and earth. A mere princess like you wants me to kneel? Don’t be so delusional.”
Chris was Amerosia Primus, a title that gave him unparalleled authority in all of Amerosia. Even Master William wouldn’t demand him to kneel. For him, a princess wasn’t worthy of such respect.
“You…” Violet was so furious at Chris’s words that she momentarily lost the ability to speak. Taking a deep breath to regain her composure, she asked, “Fine, you don’t have to kneel. But tell me, who are you? Why have you come to Amerosia, and what is your purpose?”
Previously, Violet had ordered an investigation into Chris’s background. Yet, it was as though he had appeared out of thin air. There was no information about him at all.
Chris thought for a moment before replying, “I am a disciple of your Imperial Sage.”
“What? You are the disciple of the Imperial Sage?” Violet was visibly shocked.
The Imperial Sage held an esteemed position in Amerosia. Even Violet, a princess, wouldn’t dare to act rudely toward Archer Wintersong, the Imperial Sage.
Still in disbelief, Violet asked, “Do you have any proof that you are indeed his disciple?”
Without a word, Chris took out a crimson leaf-shaped token. This token represented Emberwood Estate and was given to him by Archer Wintersong before his departure. His master had instructed him to use this token if he ever needed to find him.
When Violet took the token from Chris’s hand, her expression immediately changed. She recognized that this token symbolized Archer Wintersong himself.
Looking up at Chris, her face filled with astonishment, she asked, “Are you truly the disciple of the Imperial Sage?”
Violet had never expected that the man who had dared to strike her was actually the disciple of Archer Wintersong.
Chris retrieved the token and asked, “Can you tell me where my master is now?”
Shaking her head, Violet replied, “Your master is not only the Imperial Sage of Amerosia but also its Lord Guardian. However, his whereabouts are always mysterious. Even I haven’t seen him in a long time.”
Hearing this, Chris frowned. He had assumed that he would be able to meet his master at the Amerosia palace. Now it seemed that finding him would be much harder than expected.
Chris had been in Aethelgard for quite some time and was starting to feel homesick for Esther and Hope. He decided that once he found Emily, he would return to Earth without delay.
Initially, Violet had planned to teach Chris a lesson. But after learning his identity as Archer Wintersong’s disciple, she didn’t dare to act against him.
At that moment, a eunuch entered the room. Bowing respectfully, he said, “Your Highness, Princess Violet.”
Violet frowned and asked, “What are you doing here?”
The eunuch replied, “Your Highness, by the order of Princess of Monroe, I have come to summon Chris for an audience.”
Surprised, Violet looked at Chris and asked curiously, “Do you know my sister?”
Chris was just as puzzled. He had only recently arrived in Pinkshire and had no idea who the Princess of Monroe was. Shaking his head, Chris said, “No, I don’t know her.”
Violet waved her hand dismissively. “If my sister has summoned you, then you’d better go.”
With no other choice, Chris followed the eunuch.
On the way, Chris asked, “May I ask who this Princess of Monroe is and why she wants to see me?”
The eunuch shook his head and replied, “I don’t know. You’ll have to ask her yourself.”
After a short walk, the eunuch led Chris to a study. Chris observed the room carefully. It was spacious, with shelves full of books lining the walls.
A soft coughing sound broke the silence.
Chris turned around quickly, and to his surprise, he saw Seraphina.
Standing before him was none other than Archer Wintersong’s daughter, Seraphina. However, she looked different from how he remembered her. She was dressed in luxurious attire, radiating the elegance of an ancient beauty.
The eunuch immediately bowed to her and said respectfully, “Princess of Monroe.”
“What? You’re the Princess of Monroe?” Chris was stunned.
He had never imagined that Seraphina would hold such a title. What was going on?
Seraphina waved her hand, signaling the eunuch to leave. “You may go.”
“Yes, Your Highness,” the eunuch replied before retreating respectfully.
Chris stared at Seraphina, filled with questions. “Seraphina, what’s going on? How did you end up in Aethelgard? And how did you become the Princess of Monroe? What happened?”
Seeing the confusion on Chris’s face, Seraphina sighed softly and said, “Mr. Shelby, it’s a long story. After my father left, he suddenly returned one day…”
According to Seraphina, Archer Wintersong had returned to Earth briefly after his departure. During that time, he had found Seraphina and brought her to Amerosia in Aethelgard.
As the Lord Guardian of Amerosia, Archer Wintersong’s influence was immense. The Emperor of Amerosia had even adopted Seraphina as his daughter. Being older than Violet, Seraphina had become the Princess of Monroe and Violet’s elder sister.
After hearing the story, Chris couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly. He had been searching everywhere for Archer Wintersong, only to discover that his master had brought Seraphina to Aethelgard instead.
Chris asked, “Seraphina, where is my master now?”
Frowning, Seraphina replied, “A while ago, Great Lyria invaded Amerosia. My father, as the Lord Guardian, led the army to the northern border to confront them. I will also be heading to the border tomorrow to help fend off their attack.”
Chris thought for a moment before saying, “In that case, I’ll go with you. Let’s find my master together.”
Seraphina looked hesitant. “I’m afraid I can’t take you with me. I’ll be traveling with the army, so it’s best if you make your own way there.”
Chris nodded. “Alright.”
Before leaving, he asked, “Seraphina, why are there two Amerosias? One on Earth and one here in Aethelgard? What’s the connection between them?”
Seraphina replied, “Mr. Shelby, have you ever heard of the Battle of Ember Ridge?”
Chris nodded.
She explained, “When the Emperor of Amerosia passed away, he left the throne to his eldest grandson. However, the Emperor’s fourth son refused to accept this and rebelled. After four years of war, he seized the throne.”
