“It’s nothing,” he said flashing a fake smile at me, I raised an eyebrow hoping to let him know I wasn’t buying his lies.
“Tell me.” I demanded, placing a hand on my waist and glaring at him.
“Alfred is using the information I have given him against me?” Ethan finally explained.
“When I hired Alfred, I thought he could be trusted and I let him in on some private information, which I never should have, now he is using this information against me” Ethan explained, he sounded so vulnerable and disappointed.
My poor baby, “What kind of information are these?” I wondered softening my eyes at him and moving closer to hug him.
“A few lies, some information about my company, defamatory things,” Ethan said, he was still just touching the surface but I was glad he was at least telling me something.
“And these lies, is there a way you can prove his lying?” I asked and Ethan shrugged.
“It’s not just about me, I can discredit what he says but I had an investor, and that investor is crazy, if Alfred talks too much, it might get him in big trouble” Ethan explained.
“What about you? Would that get you in trouble too?” I knew he was talking vaguely but I didn’t want to pry further.
“No, he can’t harm me, I no longer work with him,” Ethan said and I sighed, for a second there I thought he was holding money for a dangerous man or something.
“So this is just about protecting Alfred?” I asked and he nodded.
“Yes” he replied and I smiled, despite everything Alfred had done he was still trying to protect him.
“You are such a good man” I sighed, placing my head in his chest.
“You have a kind heart but I think Alfred deserves whatever comes to him,” I said, Alfred deserved every type of torture he gets after what he did to my cousin and the others.
“You think” he chuckled and I nodded. “Let your investor do whatever he wants to Alfred, it would teach him not to run his mouth and betray his boss” I affirmed.
“hmm, should I worry that you might have a dark side?” Ethan teased and I laughed.
“Secret evil queen here, but don’t worry only those who test me would see my wrath” I joined the joke giggling.
“O!! I see” Ethan said lifting me like a baby.
“Well then your royal evilness, I, your humble servant would try my best not to test you” he smiled pecking me on the cheek before carrying me through the staircase to the bedroom.
He laid me gently on our king-size master bedroom bed, crushing his lips on mine as my Body relaxed on the bed.
“Hm,” I moaned, putting my hands on his shirt and trying to help him button down before he pulled away.
“You had a long day today, maybe get some rest” he suggested.
He probably didn’t want to be intimate with me after seeing me lay naked beside another man.
“Yeah, I should probably change and take my bath,” I said. I didn’t realize until he mentioned it, that I was still wearing an ugly blue dress he got delivered to the hospital by a store nearby.
The dress was hideous and too big, it made me look like I was putting on a sack, but who was I to complain?
“Yes, you should,” Ethan said pulling away from me and sitting at the edge of the bed.
I stood up, headed to the walk-in closet, and picked up my bathrobe, before heading straight to the bathroom.
As I got to the bathroom door, I looked back at Ethan who just stared at the cream carpet beside the bed, clearly lost in thoughts.
“Baby” I called out to him and he raised his head to catch my gaze.
“Should we talk about what happened today?” I asked, we never really spoke about how it made him feel.
“There is nothing to talk about,” Ethan said getting to his feet and walking to me.
“I am just glad you are okay,” he said pulling out my phone from his pocket and handing it to me. “I forgot to give this back to you,” Ethan changed the topic.
“And you believe, I didn’t intentionally go to that strange place,” I said and he nodded.
“The doctor confirmed it, and I trust you, Love” he smiled faintly at me.
“I am just disappointed with myself for underestimating just how dangerous Gloria could be, I don’t even know why she would do such a thing” Ethan voiced out and I smiled.
It felt good to know he believed me that Gloria was responsible, I thought he was trying to defend her earlier.
“Isn’t it obvious, she wants to be with you” I pointed out and he looked doubtful, his eyes narrowing and he shook his head.
“That can’t be the only reason” Ethan voiced out still slightly tilting his head.
“I would have to talk to her about it,” Ethan said and I shook my head immediately.
“I don’t want you to see her ever again” I didn’t want Ethan to be around Gloria ever, if she could do that to me just to get him, there was no saying what else she could do.
“I don’t want you to even speak with her” I commanded watching Ethan’s eyes, he looked conflicted, like I was asking the impossible.
“I can’t” Ethan blurted and I instantly felt irritated, what the hell did he mean he couldn’t?
“You understand I am not trying to be a jealous girlfriend here, I am saying this because she is desperate to be with you and there is no saying what she can do” I tried to explain my point.
It wasn’t just jealousy that was talking but concern.
“I understand, but Gloria and I have a business together,” he said the same bull crap he said earlier.
“What kind of business, huh, a son, aspiring to be a happy family” I blurted without thinking, now that was jealousy talking.
“What was I even thinking, this relationship wasn’t going to last anyway,” I said turning to walk into the bathroom when Ethan stopped me, holding my hands and gently turning me back to face him.
“It’s not what you think, you are the only woman I want to be with,” Ethan said, I didn’t believe a word he said, I was no fool, I knew a future with Ethan would be extremely difficult.
“Gloria’s father, Jake’s grandfather is the investor I was telling you about, I would normally not have any business talking to her if Alfred was smarter” Ethan explained
“O!!!” I exclaimed it all made sense now, and that explained why he disappeared with Jake.
“Well let them handle Alfred however they deem fit, I still don’t want you talking to her” I demanded and he nodded.
“Whatever you say,” Ethan said and I blushed, he was too perfect.
“Thank you baby,” I said leaning and kissing him on the lips.

“You didn’t notice any missed period” Ethan asked and I shook my head.
“you are scaring me, can you please tell me what the hell you are talking about” My voice began to rise as my heart raced
