He was happy with the life he’s lived so far.
Thirty five years and a few more months with the reincarnation.
He’s experienced love and he accepted pain. He lost his father to the same disease his father died with, on the same day.
But he was here in this body to change that fate.
As he looked behind him, the two cars racing down the exit way with determination to run him over, he thanked God of all the memories he’s made so far.
It seems like it was time for him to leave.
Or possibly…
This is how he shall die here and go back to his original body.
Zayn Johnson thought he was going to die in that instance…
[15 minutes back]
“Shit! Shit! Shit!” Louis frantically searches for the program file which he created. It was in his car, safely locked.
“Louis!” Louis turns to his brothers who were entering the car.
“I got a visual of the parking lot! You’re not gonna believe this!!” Alex yells. Each of the brothers were given wide access to all the places Louis had installations of his technology. That obviously meant the cameras in the building as well.
“What the fuck!? Grab your bats! I’m starting the car. Alex, drive to the office right now!”
“Got it!” Alex takes his baseball bat as Dan grabs a ball filling pump. He plucks the wire off of it, the long rod like structure serving as the perfect tool, with a handle.
Alex and Dan leave in Alex’s Ferrari, the red car racing down the snowy streets without the care of a possible accident.
“Nick, we gotta go!” Nick ran back into his room to fetch the knuckle claw. He purchased it out of spite, to feel the power of a dangerous male. He never thought in his wildest dreams that he would be using it in a situation like this.
“Go, go, go.” Louis doesn’t even wait for Nick to close the door as he speeds up, the engine creating a sound of vigor as they drive down the snowy road as well.
Back to the scenario where Zayn thought he was about to lose his life…
Four of his brothers spill out of the cars with weapons, as if raiding a ship like pirates.
Before he knew, they were charging towards the four men and Edith.
They fail to learn that these people are criminals.
But they were powerful, protective and energetic youth who knew nothing more than protecting their family.
Zayn’s heart felt no better sense of ease than before any time in his life. He walks backwards, his legs crash into the Ferrari as he collapses on the floor.
Louis was capable enough to take two men at the same time. His height and energy gave it away.
Alex was swinging the bat like he changed his sport, the man was out with one shot.
Nick was going wild with punches. They were never wrong when they said silent nerds are the darkest in their minds. Nick almost punctured the opponent with his knuckle claws.
And at last, Dan.
He was fighting another man who had a rod as well. It looked as if he was fighting with a sword. He was moving gracefully, even if it doesn’t fit the context. His fight had won, the Johnsons have won.
Louis opens his phone to dial the digits on the cracked screen.
“Mister Ibrahim, we have a few criminals to fill your jail. Autoc Empire parking lot, sir.” Louis says, half panting and half exhausted.
“Great.” Dan chuckles, swinging the rod in a man’s face when they were trying to get up.
Zayn was smiling in relief when suddenly, it strikes to him.
“C-Cassie… Louis! CASSIE AND GRANDPA-!!” Zayn screams as Louis widens his eyes.
Dan helps the man up.
Zayn points towards the other source of light as he stands up with shaky legs.
“Fucking God!” Leaving Zayn at the cars as he sprints crazily towards the other parking side.
He’s reached the car when he hears a woman in the distance, behind a car. He was horrified to see the legs of a man and a girl on her knees, pumping on his chest.
[FLASHBACK…]
2055, St. Pharrell High School
Cassandra and Ravine cry as they hold each other’s hands. The school shooting devoured three of the student’s lives and a brave janitor’s life as well. The teachers lock their students behind the metal shed as they shiver at every nuisancical screaming and the gun shots.
Until police arrived, one of the students had fallen against the corner of a wooden bench as it hits the back of his head.
He had lost his life in struggle.
A few weeks passed. The school reopens to continue poor children’s education.
To honor his death, all teachers collaborate with health professionals and teach the students to handle a CPR and a concussion.
“Will we ever need to apply our knowledge?” Ravine asks as Cassandra lays her down, doing a role play for concussion management.
“Let’s pray that we won’t.”
[FLASHBACK ENDS…]
“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Argh!” Cassandra presses on the man’s chest as he wasn’t responding. She was panicking each time that she visualised about the man’s head being hit with the extinguisher. There was no blood, but Framton wasn’t breathing as well.
Suddenly, her head begins to screech as if someone entered her skull and was trying to pry her brain out.
She falls on the ground, clutching her head tightly and screaming.
Dan appears the next second, holding her as his concern was divided on Cassandra and Framton.
Cassandra feels an itch on her palm. She wasn’t really having time to attend to that.
But…
She sees.
It was disappearing.
It was as if gold dust was flying out of her hand as her head stopped hurting for awhile.
She turns to Dan who was crying on his father’s chest.
Did they lose him?
“Oh, Cassie…” Dan crawls towards her, to embrace her.
But she wasn’t accepting his death.
Knowing very well that if she failed in saving any one of the three Johnsons in the past… she would go back to an empty, stagnate future with Louis and Ravine sacrificed for an empty cause.
“Huh…?” She was smiling.
“Cassie…” looking at her give an unusual reaction, Dan falls away from her.
“C-Cassie… get ahold of yourself.” Dan says to the girl.
“Framton?” She softly calls his name.
“Framton… wake up.”
Dan sighs, “Cassie… he’s gone…”
“No… no he’s not.”
Suddenly, the girl pushes everything away from him as she lays Framton’s body in a sleeping position.
She couldn’t accept his death.
What did Louis and Ravine in the future had a purpose for a sacrifice if she fails here?
“I- I’m not giving up on you old man… you better wake up.” Cassandra says in a cracked voice.
She begins the CPR all over again.
When she grows frustrated, she suddenly pumps a little too hard on his chest.
“CASSIE! WHAT ARE YOU-” Dan screams when the man hunches while taking a long deep breath.
Cassandra was wide-eyed as she looks at Framton sweating and looking around with great confusion.
Releasing a shaky breath, she falls to the side.
Only to realise how much of a damage she’s incurred.
