By the time they got home, the photos had already been sent to Conrad.
Since Conrad requested the raw images, the other person didn’t dare delay.
Lillian couldn’t be bothered to look at the photos and went straight to the kitchen to prepare the ingredients she’d bought.
Conrad, on the other hand, was quite pleased and grabbed Ada.
“Which one do you like?”
“Lillian, we should take more photos. It’s a shame we didn’t take any before, but it’s okay, we’ll take them every year from now on.”
“Get this one printed and hang it in the living room.”
Lillian ignored him, letting him busy himself.
When the meat broth started to smell delicious, she even made a bowl without salt and gave it to Ada.
Then she took a bowl to Conrad.
“Do I have to eat the same thing as Ada?”
“No, its doesn’t have any seasoning.”
Lillian scooped a spoonful of soup, but before she could take a sip, he drank it from beside her, looking in a bad mood.
It was rare for Conrad to eat homemade food, so he ate quite a bit. He probably skipped an important dinner appointment tonight. His phone was turned off to avoid being disturbed.
Lillian, in a good mood, asked if he wanted to watch a documentary.
For something as boring as that, Conrad would rather play zombie games. He didn’t understand how Lillian could sit through it.
He played with her hair but soon felt tired.
When Lillian turned her head after 15 minutes, he had already fallen asleep.
She pulled the blanket over him and then patted Ada’s head before walking out in her loungewear.
Andrew was downstairs and looked up when he saw her. “Are you heading out?”
She was carrying a small bag.
Lillian replied, “I’m going to buy some stationery. You drive.”
Andrew glanced upstairs. “What about Mr. Conrad?”
“He went out to dinner with Hogan and the others last night. He didn’t get back until three in the morning and didn’t sleep well, so he’s tired now. You can go upstairs if you don’t believe me.” Lillian looked at the flowers in the vase and said, “Nancy, buy some fresh ones tomorrow. These are starting to wilt.”
“Okay, Miss Lillian.”
Everything seemed normal.
Except, she was going out late at night to buy something.
“If Mr. Conrad wakes up and doesn’t see you, he won’t be happy. If you need anything, I’ll go get it for you.”
Lillian turned to look at him and said, “I’m going to buy nipple covers and thong panties. Do you know my bra size or my other measurements? Do you want to buy sanitary pads for me too?”
Andrew’s face turned red, and he turned away. “I’ll go get the car ready.”
He had to watch over Lillian; he couldn’t let her slip away.
But before that, he needed to check on Conrad.
Lillian had already left and was waiting by the door, so Andrew went upstairs by himself.
He saw Conrad sleeping peacefully in the media room before gently closing the door behind him.
“If Mr. Conrad wakes up, tell him we’ll be back soon.”
Nancy nodded. “Got it.”
Andrew quickly got the car and asked, “Which mall are you going to?”
“My favorite brand is at YD, over by YH Street.”
“That far?” It would take an hour round trip, especially since the city would probably be congested at this time.
“Are you going or not?”
Knowing Lillian’s temper, if he didn’t satisfy her, she’d probably make a fuss.
Andrew thought women were troublesome, with so many different types of underwear, and now she wanted something else.
“Get in the car.”
Lillian got in the car and glanced back in the direction of Hillside Villa’s media room. “Let’s go.”
By this time, the mall was almost closing.
Andrew, afraid of making a wasted trip, called the mall manager on the way there and arranged for them to leave a small side door open, making it easier for them to shop.
Another staff member was waiting to assist them.
With Conrad, rules were set for others; Lillian was already well aware of this.
When they arrived, there weren’t many people left in the mall.
Perhaps because she was surprised it hadn’t closed yet, the elevator downstairs was still running, and after coming out of the cinema, she started to wander around.
From the moment Lillian got out of the car, Andrew followed closely behind her.
She went upstairs to a lingerie store.
She remembered this place well; the fitting rooms were large, and they even had an area designed for taking boudoir photos. Many women checked in here.
It was one of the mall’s popular spots.
Once Lillian entered, she started looking at lingerie, but Andrew didn’t feel comfortable following her to look at it. He could only stand outside the store, his eyes fixed on Lillian.
She calmly picked out several sets of sexy lingerie, with hardly any fabric, as if they wouldn’t cover much at all.
Andrew awkwardly looked away.
Lillian slowly spoke, “I’m going to try these on.”
Andrew instructed, “Stay close to this lady. If you lose track of her, I’ll hold you responsible.”
The staff member, a little frightened, awkwardly nodded and followed her inside. At first, it wasn’t clear what their relationship was.
Andrew thought about how, after this, he would have to hire a female bodyguard.
It wasn’t appropriate for a man to follow a woman shopping for lingerie.
But after waiting for over ten minutes without Lillian coming out, Andrew couldn’t wait any longer.
He directly asked at the door, “Lillian, are you done?”
A voice quickly responded from inside, “Still changing. What’s your rush?”
Hearing the confirmation, Andrew relaxed, but the next moment, he realized something was off.
He suddenly pulled open the changing curtain.
To his surprise, there was a hidden passage behind it, leading outside, and the door was open.
A phone was lying there, and just as Andrew pulled the curtain back, the call was abruptly cut off.
Lillian!
At that moment, Lillian had managed to slip away from the saleswoman using the excuse of going to the restroom and buying a drink.
She was running quickly through the underground parking lot.
She headed straight to the subway station.
It was the last train, and she just needed to get off at a crowded stop and blend in with the crowd to buy herself more time.
But the next moment, someone blocked her path.
Lillian’s heart sank, but the person wasn’t Andrew, nor was it any of the bodyguards who had been around Conrad.
“Miss Lillian, Old Mrs. Brown is waiting for you.”
She was led to a black luxury car parked at the side of the road.
Once inside, the interior lights turned on.
A glass of water was handed to her. “We left in a hurry, so we didn’t prepare any coffee or snacks. Have some water for now.”
Lillian glanced at Old Mrs. Brown sitting next to her and softly said, “Grandma Brown.”
“Mm, you’re still willing to call me Grandma. It’s worth me making this trip. Recently, Conrad has caused quite a stir over you. Now that we’re alone in the car, our conversation won’t be shared with anyone. Tell me the truth, you really don’t want to continue with him, do you?”
