When Rosalind woke up, it was already dark outside.
She stretched and sat up in bed. The soreness and numbness between her legs hadn’t completely disappeared, but at least she could get out of bed.
Walking out of the bedroom, she found the first floor empty, with only a warm light on in the living room. It seemed the people upstairs hadn’t come down for a while.
As she reached the staircase, she could hear Ulric playing with the children upstairs.
He was very patient, always answering Floyd and Jake’s questions seriously and listening intently before giving his answers.
Rosalind knew that a lot of work from W Group was waiting for him, yet here he was, spending time with the kids.
Hearing a commotion, Ulric looked up towards the stairs.
“Mommy!” Floyd darted into her arms. “Look, Daddy bought us new toys. I just opened them!”
Rosalind glanced around upstairs. Thankfully, there were only piles of toys and no play structures. Otherwise, she would have warned Ulric!
Spoiling the children like this wouldn’t do.
She knew Ulric wanted to make up for what he felt he owed their children, but the kids were still young and didn’t need too many toys.
Ulric stood up and hugged Rosalind from behind. “Are you hungry?”
“Not really.” Rosalind didn’t eat much to begin with. A little food could last her a long time.
“Then I’ll have the chef make something simple for you. You shouldn’t skip meals. It’s bad for your stomach.”
Rosalind nodded obediently. “Okay.”
At that moment, Jake finally finished setting up the firewall for his new computer. He sighed in relief and was about to boast to Ulric when he saw their parents hugging.
He turned back to his computer, muttering, “Showing off their love everywhere.”
After giving instructions to the chef, including making some snacks for the kids, Ulric returned and asked gently, “Tomorrow morning, we’re going to the Brookwood Free Church. Do you two want to come?”
Floyd was about to say yes when Jake spoke first.
“I’m not going. I haven’t finished encrypting the network here! And why should I go? I don’t want to be a third wheel!”
“If Jake isn’t going, I’m not going either. I’ll stay with him!” Floyd laughed and hugged Jake’s neck.
Rosalind sighed, “Jake, where did you learn all these phrases?”
“What’s not on the internet?”
She realized it was true but also became worried.
Before she could say anything, Ulric held her hand and whispered in her ear, “Don’t worry. I’ve screened everything Jake sees online. There won’t be any problems.”
“You even thought of that?”
“He’s my son. All I want is what’s best for my children.”
Rosalind knew he was meticulous but was still surprised by his attention to detail.
It seemed that being the president of a multinational group wasn’t something just anyone could do! Besides handling numerous tasks daily, he had to think ahead about every aspect.

Tilda finally had no choice but to take Johnny to the hospital.
Howard was placed in a luxury ward.
This must be Johnny’s doing! At least he had a conscience.
She bought a fruit basket and a bouquet of flowers along the way. As soon as she entered the ward, Howard’s eyes lit up when he saw her.
But the next second, they dimmed again.
Behind Tilda stood Johnny in a suit.
