Kai was happy to realise that he had a mate bond with Sara. But not for the reasons most werewolves would be happy about.
The idea of having a mate wasn’t one that filled him with giddiness. Not at all. A mate could screw you over just like any other she-wolf out there, so what was the use of the bond?
His happiness was purely because he had a bond with Sara, the girl who had rejected his advances over and over again.
Not anymore, she wouldn’t. Under the push of the mate bond, she would not be able to push him away anymore. He was going to have her where he wanted her, and she was going to like it.
Somehow, the three males managed to take care of Sara’s wounds without anyone losing their heads. The tension between Levi and Christian was palpable.
Kai didn’t care that the two males were tending to his fated mate, or that Levi too had a bond with her. He had only one goalto sleep with her. Once he did that, he couldn’t care less who she mated, or who she was with.

Two days later, Sara was feeling good enough to resume her classes. Her wounds had taken some time to heal, but it had taken even longer to get her strength back.
She probably would have spent more time recuperating if it wasn’t for her three suddenly very caring roommates.
Or, rather, her three mates.
She groaned inwardly.
She had been so shocked to find out that she had a mate bond with Kai, too. It made no sense. It was as if the universe was playing games on her. Or, maybe, this was one massive dream she was yet to wake up from.
What were the odds that her three roommates also happened to be her three fated mates? How crazy was that? Were there more out there, waiting for her to discover their bond?
It all must be a mistake. But, was there any way to fix it?
While she drowned in confusion, Edna was curiously giddy about the situation. While Sara thought of it as an inconvenience, Edna saw it as a blessing.
In her wolf’s words”How many werewolves get to choose between not two, but three mates? You are so lucky!”
Sara wasn’t sure about that. Choose? Could she choose? Levi had made it clear he didn’t like the idea of her being with another male. He was yet to find out that she had a bond with Christian and Kai, and she didn’t want to know what would happen when he did.
Christian, on the other hand, was recently behaving out of character. One day, he didn’t want to see her face, and the next, he was giving her all his attention. He seemed to be purposely getting in Levi’s way as if challenging him. He was yet to reveal that he had a bond with her. It was as if there was suddenly a competition, and she was the prize. And there was no telling what the loser would do.
Kai was keeping his bond with her a secret too, and she couldn’t begin to imagine what he was up to. Like Levi and Christian, he helped tend to her while she recovered, being all nice and sweetno innuendos whatsoever.
Had finding out they had a bond changed his attitude towards her?
But, amidst all the confusion, one thing was clearher schoolmates’ attitude towards her had changed. And not in a negative manner, as she would have expected after the incident with Victor.
The bullying had not only stopped, but her classmates were also kind to her. She was no longer an outcast, and she knew it had something to do with her roommates, even though none of them had publicly claimed her as their mate.
Whatever the reason, she hoped things could carry on like that. Her biggest worry was what the school president had in store for her after the incident with Victor.
There was no doubt that Victor would be back for revenge, one way or another. Now, she was even more certain that going back to Blood Moon was not an option.

That evening, when she got back to her dorm, Kai was in the living room, pacing. It was an odd sightshe had never seen him anything but confident or downright smug.
Now, a deep frown marred his smooth brow. His curly hair was tousled, an obvious sign of raking his fingers through it.
But, the moment he saw her, his face cleared and he shot a smile towards her. “Hello there, little wolf,” he greeted.
His nickname for her had stuck, but where in the past it was accompanied by a patronising or threatening tone, recently, it sounded nothing but sweet.
So sweet that whenever he called her by it, with that seemingly harmless smile of his, it made her heart beat a little faster.
“Hey,” she replied, fighting to sound as calm as possible. Sure, he had changed his attitude towards her, but she would die first before she let on that he affected her in any way.
If she were to be forced to choose one of the three to be her mate, she was certain it wouldn’t be Kai. She wasn’t about to forget that he was a manwhore.
“Feeling better?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m…good.”
“Great,” he said, his smile still on, his eyes unwavering from her face. Damn.
Perhaps he was a romantic who was ready to give up his philandering ways as soon as he found his mate. She had met a few werewolves like that.
They would be all over the place, but the moment they met their fated one, they settled down and never so much as looked at anyone else suggestively after that.
Kai’s phone pinged, and he took it out of his pocket to check the message. His face fell, his smile replaced by the tension and frown she had seen when she walked into the room.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, wondering what had him spooked so much.
He looked up at her, pocketing his phone and dragging his hands through his hair. “It’s Christian.”
“What about him?” she asked, her pulse quickening again, this time in anxiety and fear. What was wrong with Christian?
“He had a fight with his Beta, and we think something happened to him,” he explained.
“What do you mean? Have you talked to him?”
“We can’t find him.”
“What?”
Just then, the door to Levi’s room opened and he appeared. On seeing Sara, he gave her a slight nod and then turned to Kai. “Let’s go.”
“Are you going to find him?” she asked.
“Yeah. We’ll be back soon.”
“I want to go too,” she blurted.
Both boys looked at her, surprised. “What?” Kai asked.
“I want to help you find him,” she said.
“We are going to the forest,” Levi told her. “It’s dangerous, you can’t come with us.”
“I can help,” she insisted.
The two guys shared a look, and then Kai said, “It’s fine, she’ll be with us.”
Levi hesitated for a few seconds and then nodded. “Fine. Stick close,” he instructed her.
“Okay.”
