Chapter 107 – Vengeance

Book:HIS REJECTED SECOND CHANCE MATE Published:2025-2-25

Zara’s POV
My gaze moved over the 5’0, dark-headed, blue-eyed girl. She was pretty. She could easily look like a runway model with her thin waist and slim body. She wore a simple white shirt that hugged her huge breasts, designer blue jeans, and some black high heels.
Her big blue eyes traveled over me; they were cold and hostile. She sneered. She seemed to enjoy my predicament.
I didn’t recognize her at all, and I couldn’t recall ever meeting her before.
“Who are you?” I asked, irritation slowly fueling my insides. There was no way that she was the one behind the attacks. She might be lovely and all that, but I surely didn’t believe she was the brains behind these attacks.
“You don’t recognize me?” She smirked, placing one of her manicured hands on her hips.
Was that pose supposed to make me remember her?
I shook my head.
“I am not a bit surprised that you don’t remember me,” she said, with venom in her sweet voice. “You only met me once, and that was only for a few seconds at a party.”
My mind raced, attempting to recall the she-wolf, but nothing came to mind. She must not be very important… probably a low-ranked omega.
“That was before you fucked up my life for a second time!” She continued.
What the hell was she talking about? I have never intervened in anyone’s relationships.
“I am not sure what you are referring to!” I replied.
The she-wolf snarls. The hatred in her snarl toward me made me flinch.
“My fated mate rejected me because of you!” She hissed through gritted teeth. “Then, just as I was on the verge of being marked and mated, you came along and snatched my chosen mate from me!” The she-wolf shook out of anger.
“Well, I can’t say I am sorry,” I replied. “I have no idea what you are referring to, and I never stole anyone’s mate…!”
“Remember Alpha Luke,” she asked in irritation before stepping forward and pressing her forehead against mine. She brought her nose close to mine.
“What about him?” I inquired calmly, maintaining eye contact with her.
“He was my fated mate before he rejected me for you,” she spat.
“Wait, what?” I gasped.
The she-wolf moved away from me. Her body trembled with anger. I guess she was scared or even unable to hurt me. There must be a purpose for me.
“I heard that his fated mate died before he could reach her,” I stated.
The she-wolf threw back her head and laughed. The sound was so cold that a shiver ran down my spine.
“And you believed that nonsense?” She hissed.
“At the time, yes,” I replied. “I had no reason not to believe Alpha….”
“His mother found me before he did,” she cut me off. “She forced him to reject me because of you. She staged my death in hopes that you would take him as a chosen mate, but you fucking ran off and ignored him…”
Luna Mary was involved in all of this?
Luke rejected his mate? They did all this to get to me? Why would they do that?
More questions filled my head, and I wanted answers to understand.
Yet, something in this she-wolf’s attitude told me that she knew what they were planning. She didn’t just come here to tell me she hated me. She wanted to gloat about something.
“I wasn’t aware of the arrangements,” I replied. “You can’t blame me for what they’ve done to you.”
“Oh, I didn’t at first,” she cut me off. “You were blind in all of this….”
I gave her a confused look, and she rolled her eyes at me.
“Before I agreed to the rejection, Luna Mary offered me the position as Luna to Alpha Noah,” she explained. “If I didn’t accept, she would have forced Alpha Luke to kill me…”
“Oh,” I replied. “I wasn’t aware…”
The she-wolf pulled her shoulder straight and looked down at me before continuing.
“Alpha Noah and I are well acquainted,” she stated, licking her lips seductively. “He didn’t argue against his mother’s orders… he likes me, and I don’t mind sharing his bed with… uhm… more willing lovers…”
I shiver at that thought, and bile pushes up my throat. Sharing my bed with more than just my mate wasn’t my idea of fun.
Images of Luna Mary, Luke, and Alpha Noah flashed before my eyes.
I knew it was Kaya’s doing. I could feel Kaya’s bitter emotions. She was trying to tell me something.
“They are all family?” I whispered in disbelief. It wasn’t a question, just an observation.
A single pounding followed for yes.
Kaya had successfully assembled a crucial component. I never suspected Luna Mary to be Alpha Noah’s mother.
“We were well into the mating preparation when you stumbled upon him,” the she-wolf huffed, irritated.
“But you saw him reject me,” I reminded her, hoping she would listen. “And I accepted it without arguing…”
“Yeah,” she said, looking at her polished red fingers bored. “But his grandfather found out that he rejected a silver wolf, you of all wolves, and gave him an ultimatum to find and reclaim you. Otherwise, he would forfeit his Alpha status and face expulsion from the pack.”
“That’s why Noah suddenly became interested in me…” I muttered under my breath in disbelief. “His grandfather wanted to disown him?”
“You caught up quickly,” she stated.
“How do you fit in all of this?” I asked. “Why kidnap me… what did he promise you?”
Her gaze found mine, the coldness and hatred growing inside them.
“Tell me!” I let out a roar and tugged at the ropes. I was too pissed to care about the wolfsbane burning my flesh. “What kind of deal did you two make?”
The she-wolf moved away from me, her hips swaying from side to side. She was enjoying this kind of torture, and she knew I couldn’t touch her.
“I was born to be a leader,” she said, looking over her shoulder. “The Goddess gifted a strong Delta wolf. It would only be right to make me Luna over all the silver packs.”
She shrugged as she went toward the door.
“You can’t do that!” I growled, struggling against the rope.
“And why not? You keep taking what’s mine,” she spat. “Now I will return the favor. I will claim your mate, Alpha Nicholas, as mine, become his Luna, and……”
“He is already marked and mated,” I hissed, cutting her off. “He will never let you touch him….”
“Oh, he will,” she said, certain, an evil grin growing on her lips. “He will eventually reject you, save himself, and beg me to be his Luna. This is especially true now that he has lost both his magic and his wolf. In the end he will need a strong she-wolf to rule by his side because he will be unable to do so.”
“What are you talking about?” I whispered, bewildered. The anger inside me blazed.
“You don’t know, do you?” She asked, cocking her head to the side and acting surprised.
“Every minute you spend apart from Alpha Nicholas makes him human,” she said. “Your mate bond is draining the magic you share, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Eventually his wolf would completely disappear. He will ultimately become a frail little human being.”
“I will never let you do that!” I growled.
She threw her head back and laughed.
“And how are you going to stop me?” She asked, wiping the tears from her eyes. “As soon as the full moon reaches its peak in two days, the old Alpha will remove Alpha Nicolas’s mark from your nape. He will claim you soon after he has taken a younger and stronger body.”
I was seething. There was no way I would let her do that. There was no way I would let anyone remove my mark from my nape.
“That’s not all,” she chirped excitedly, a sinister smile back on her full lips. “As soon as I am Luna of the Midnight Moon and he is Alpha of the Silverado Pack, we will have no need for you or Alpha Nicholas.”
My body stiffens at her words.
“We are planning to merge all the packs,” she continued. “I will become Queen Luna, and he will be my King Alpha. We will rule over all werewolves and prepare to take vengeance on the Moon Goddess and her immortal realm…”
“She is utterly insane,” Kaya suddenly spoke, and I yelped out in surprise.
“You’re back!” I gasped, grabbing her around the neck and pulled her into a hug.
“Yeah,” she said, her attention on the she-wolf. “Your anger burned down the silver quicker.”
I turned my attention back to the she-wolf, heading toward the door.
“So,” I stopped her. “What will the wolves call you in the end?”
“Queen Luna Terra,” she said. “It has a lovely ring to it. Don’t you think?”
With that she closed the door, and her footsteps disappeared in the direction she came from.
Will we be able to escape this hellhole before any of that happens, or will he succeed?
