Chapter 403: Break It Open!

Dave had just taken a step when a rough voice called out from behind him.
“Sir,” Franklin said, looking directly at Dave.
“Your grandpa asked for you to join Miss Scott for breakfast. I saw the door open, so I came in.” Franklin’s eyes glanced up and down Dave’s figure. Dave was dressed, and the door was slightly open, showing signs that he had just come back from outside.
“Sir, you weren’t in your suite last night?” Franklin asked.
“Yes,” Dave answered coldly.
“And Miss Scott…” Franklin’s eyes moved towards the bedroom door.
Dave’s eyes turned gloomy as he noticed where Franklin was looking. He frowned slightly in worry. “She’s probably still asleep.”
Franklin sighed. “Sir, you know the family rules. Your grandpa is waiting for us in the dining room. If Miss Scott is late, it could cause problems.”
The Evans family had many rules, one of which was having breakfast at six a. m. There was no room for being late.
Dave hadn’t missed it since he was a child.
“Bianca isn’t part of our family’s customs yet,” Dave said coldly, and he stared at him sharply. “Let her rest. Tell my grandpa that neither Bianca nor I will be at breakfast.”
Franklin didn’t expect this response. His face began to frown.
“It might not be a good idea. Your grandpa recently accepted her. If she misses her first breakfast, it could upset him.”
“I’ll explain it myself. Do I really need your advice?” Dave’s tone made Franklin shut his mouth.
Franklin glanced at the bedroom once more before leaving, clearly unwilling.
Once Franklin left, Dave closed the door and looked at the bedroom.
Dave felt something was off. Zane hadn’t responded when he called him. He had told Zane to guard the door all night, and Zane wouldn’t have ignored his orders unless something was wrong.
Franklin’s sudden appearance made Dave even more suspicious.
He felt there was a hidden reason behind the butler’s actions.
The bedroom probably held some answers.
Dave had sent Franklin away on purpose, wanting to be alone and ready to deal with whatever issues might arise.
His eyes darkened as he approached the bedroom door and tried to turn the knob.
It was locked from the inside.
“Bainc, are you in there?” he knocked.
There was no answer.
A rare feeling of worry crept over him. His instincts told him that Bianca might be in danger.
Without hesitation, he lifted his leg and kicked at the door.
Even with all his force, the solid door of the luxurious suite didn’t budge, staying firm against his repeated kicks.
Then, the doorbell rang, breaking his focus.
The sound startled him.
Annoyed, Dave walked over to the video doorbell screen and saw Lucas standing outside. His appearance confused Dave and made his suspicion grow.
Dave hesitated before opening the door.
Lucas greeted him with a warm smile as he noticed Dave. Behind him were several attendants and bodyguards, along with Franklin.
The attendants pushed a cart filled with breakfast items.
“Dave, Franklin told me you wanted Bianca to sleep a little longer. I was worried she might miss breakfast and get hungry, so I arranged for it to be delivered.”
Dave gave a small smile. “Thank you, Grandpa.”
Dave turned to the attendants and said, “Place the breakfast on the dining table and leave afterward.”
The attendants nodded and began setting out a variety of dishes from the cart, carefully arranging them on the table.
Lucas’s expression grew more serious. “The food here is exceptional and should be eaten while it’s still hot. It’s a special treat for Bianca. Make sure she enjoys it while it’s fresh. Wake her now.”
Noticing Dave’s hesitation, Lucas gave Franklin a subtle signal.
Franklin understood and confidently walked to the bedroom door. He knocked firmly and said, “Miss Scott, your breakfast has arrived.”
Bianca didn’t respond to Franklin’s knock.
He knocked again harder, but there was still no answer.
“Dave, she doesn’t usually sleep so deeply, does she? Franklin mentioned you weren’t here last night. Could something be wrong?” Lucas asked, pretending to be concerned as he looked around the room. “And where’s Zane? Wasn’t he with you? You left him in charge of Bianca last night. Did something happen?”
His eyes stayed on the closed bedroom door.
Dave’s eyes narrowed, feeling a tightness in his chest, but he kept his calm.
Franklin spoke up, “The door’s locked, sir.”
A slight smile appeared on Lucas’s face as he ordered the bodyguards, “Break it open!”
“Grandpa, Bianca might be sleeping too deeply to hear the knocking. Breaking the door down like this is rude!” Dave raised his voice, trying to stop the bodyguards.
Lucas sneered. “An attendant told me Zane went into your suite last night and never came out. If you weren’t here, it was just him and Bianca all night. Need I explain? A man and a woman alone…”
“That’s impossible!” Dave interrupted sharply. “Zane is my loyal aide. He wouldn’t do anything like that. Grandpa, this is a misunderstanding. Please go back and rest. I’ll wake Bianca and bring her to you.”
“What happened will be clear once we open the door! Dave, if she wants to be part of our family, she needs to be faithful to you!”
Ignoring Dave’s objections, Lucas ordered firmly, “Break it down!”
Lucas’s commanding nature meant his orders were hardly ever ignored, not even by Dave.
The bodyguards quickly surrounded the door, and their strength easily broke through. The door crashed open.
Lucas smirked, expecting Dave to explode when he saw Bianca’s supposed betrayal.
Franklin went in first. Dave stayed frozen, his feet feeling stuck to the floor.
He clenched his fists, forcing himself to move. Whatever was inside, he had to face it.
Dave stepped into the room, and his eyes widened at what he saw.
Bianca was lying on the bed, barely covered by a comforter.
Dave’s face turned cold. He quickly took off his coat and gently placed it over her before lifting her into his arms.
He felt her warmth and her breath, which helped calm his panic slightly.
“Bainc, wake up,” he whispered softly, but she didn’t respond. She seemed to be in a deep sleep.
“She’s in disarray. She must have been with a man!” Franklin said, sure of his suspicions. He rushed forward and pulled back the comforter beside Bianca.
His eyes widened in shock. There was no one else!
“This… this can’t be!” he stammered.
“How dare you touch the covers!” Dave shouted, his voice full of rage.
Lucas arrived at the doorway, followed by a group of people drawn by the noise. They looked into the room, their faces full of curiosity and suspicion.
“What happened?” the onlookers whispered, leaning in to get a better look.
