Chapter 50: Kael Appears Before Me Again

Seraphina
My entire worldview had been completely shattered!
Werewolves were real, and just like in the legends, they possessed extraordinary abilities.
After witnessing Kael suddenly appear before me and then vanish just as quickly, I swore it wasn’t a hallucination.
I saw it all clearly.
And then, I saw Kael transform into a wolf.
The massive wolf was even larger than the ones I’d seen at the boxing club.
My breath caught, and my eyes widened. This was scarier than anything I’d seen on The Walking Dead.
Because I knew that show was fake, but what was happening now was real.
I lay in bed, curling up under the covers and pulling the sheet over my head.
I thought it might give me some sense of security.
But I still couldn’t sleep.
Every time I closed my eyes, I saw that red-eyed monster and Kael turning into a wolf.
He roared and charged at me, as if he wanted to devour me.
I immediately opened my eyes, gasping, staring blankly at the ceiling.
This is terrible, I thought. I hate this feeling!
I stayed awake until dawn, while Evelyn and the others woke up looking completely normal.
It was as if nothing had happened last night. At that moment, I had to say, I envied them so much.
“Evelyn, do you know what happened last night?” I asked her.
Evelyn shook her head, yawning. “No, what happened?”
“That monster appeared,” I said.
But I didn’t mention Kael. I didn’t even know how to bring it up.
This was just too insane!
Evelyn frowned. “Damn, how could that be? If a monster really appeared, how could I have slept so soundly? That’s impossible…”
How could I explain? I suspected Kael had hypnotized them.
By then, our classmates were calling us to go out for breakfast.
Today, we were supposed to spend half the day observing animals, but my mind was elsewhere.
Even while watching the sheep, I kept zoning out.
“Seraphina, you look terrible. Did you not sleep well last night?” Evelyn nudged my arm and asked.
I nodded.
Just then, I felt something. I noticed a Ford parked not far away.
For some reason, I felt like someone inside the car was staring at me.
Was it Kael?
The thought of Kael being a werewolf made me feel sick.
“No, it must be my imagination. Kael is human. He’s a playboy. How could he be a werewolf?”
“If Kael were a werewolf, how could he be with so many human girls?”
“It must be my imagination. Kael is just a human.”
I muttered these words over and over, trying to convince myself.
I wished I could forget everything that happened last night.
But the more I said it, the less I believed it.
After lunch, I sat in a corner to rest.
We were preparing to leave the farm and return to school.
Everyone else seemed to be having a great time, including Evelyn, who was cuddling her observation subject nearby, looking reluctant to let go.
“You’re so cute. I really want to take you home,” she said, kissing the puppy.
I envied her carefree attitude. Why was I the only one filled with worries?
“Hey, Seraphina.” Kael’s voice appeared beside me.
My heart stopped from the shock.
I jumped up immediately, but Kael pushed me back down.
He put a finger to his lips, signaling me to be quiet.
“Be careful. Don’t let anyone notice I’m here.”
“When did you get here?” I asked, my heart racing and my breathing quickening.
To be honest, I was a bit terrified of Kael.
If he wasn’t human, would he kill me?
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll never hurt you,” Kael said, sensing my fear. “You know I like you.”
But his words didn’t ease my worries.
Because he was not even human! He was a werewolf!
“We should end this. It’s better for both of us,” I suggested.
“No, Seraphina. I like you. I’ll never give up on you!”
“But I’m just an ordinary human girl!” I said, struggling to get away from him.
I thought I had to run. I didn’t want to keep dealing with Kael.
But Kael saw my intention. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into his embrace.
His grip was so strong, like an iron lock, making it impossible for me to struggle.
I felt his hand tighten around my arm, almost hurting me.
“Let me go!” I said angrily.
If I weren’t worried about the others seeing, I would have screamed.
I struggled and glared at Kael.
Just then, I saw Kael’s eyes turn golden.
I froze.
“Seraphina, you won’t leave me. Never!”
He growled at me angrily.
Before I could react, Kael leaned down and kissed me forcefully.
His intense presence overwhelmed me. No matter how I resisted, he wouldn’t let go.
It frustrated me, and I bit his lip hard.
The taste of blood instantly filled my mouth.
But he still didn’t let go. He held me tightly, one hand gripping the back of my head.
He kissed me deeply, not giving me any chance to escape.
Even with blood in his mouth, he refused to release me.
This was terrible!
Though we were in a corner where few people would come, Evelyn knew where I was sitting. She could show up at any moment!
And someone might pass by.
The tension made me panic.
I hit him repeatedly, but Kael stubbornly held on.
Finally, he let go and smiled. “You weren’t like this in bed.”
His words infuriated me, but I couldn’t refute them.
I did like his body.
Damn it, even now, when he appeared before me, my heart raced, and my ears rang.
My traitorous body made me feel so frustrated.
“Alright, Seraphina. Don’t be afraid of me. I won’t hurt you. I promise!”
Kael wiped the blood from his mouth.
I noticed the wound on his lip had already healed.
It was unbelievable!
I was shocked.
It reminded me of the strange healing of the wound on my face not long ago, leaving no trace.
Had I been infected by him after being around him so much?
I shook my head, pushing the thought away.
“By the way, Seraphina, you’ll be safe now. I’ll introduce someone to you. He’ll be responsible for your safety,” he said.
“No, don’t think about spying on me! Kael, please, I just want freedom. I don’t like being watched.”
Just then, Evelyn’s voice came from nearby. “Seraph, I think it’s time to go!”
I stood up immediately and said to Kael, “Go! Evelyn will see you!”
Kael sighed, and then a gust of wind blew past me. Kael was gone.
I still couldn’t get used to the fact that Kael wasn’t a normal human.
Would he turn into that giant monster like the red-eyed werewolf?
The thought terrified me.
A cold sweat broke out on my body, and I didn’t snap out of it until Evelyn came running over to find me.
