Kael
When I found out that Seraphina had slept with me because of a breakup, I felt like a discarded dog. The sadness nearly shattered me.
Was she using me to get back at her ex-boyfriend?
Was I just a tool to her?
Watching her entanglement with Lucian filled me with irritation.
Anger consumed me, and that night, I teleported directly to Seraphina’s apartment. I needed her to give me a clear answer.
When she confirmed my suspicions, rage burned through me like wildfire, incinerating my rationality.
This time, I wasn’t gentle. But how could I? In fact, I was on the verge of revealing my true nature.
I didn’t wait for her to get ready. I entered her body roughly, thrusting harder and faster than ever.
My hands and mouth were relentless, biting her lips and gripping every part of her body.
I didn’t care about her feelings. I just wanted to vent my anger.
But when I heard her whimper in pain, I couldn’t help but slow down my advances.
Damn it, when had I ever cared so much about someone?
And she was just a human girl.
A human girl who had hurt me.
For the first time, emotions tied to love had thrown me into chaos.
I hated myself, and I hated Seraphina. My movements grew even rougher, as if I wanted to pin her to the bed forever.
But now I understood: Seraphina was different to me.
At first, I had mistakenly thought she was like the other girls-someone I’d sleep with once and then discard.
But I was wrong.
Her scent was intoxicatingly sweet, and her body was exquisite.
Even a single glance from her could make me lose myself.
She wasn’t someone I could just sleep with and forget.
This wasn’t good.
We couldn’t marry human girls.
My father had assigned me the task of marrying a girl who could advance my career.
That was the duty of a future Alpha.
But for now, I decided to follow my feelings and keep getting closer to her.
Yet, she was nothing like me. Unlike the other girls who constantly sought my attention, she avoided me.
It seemed she didn’t like me at all.
After our one-night stand, she acted as if she wanted to cut me off completely.
Honestly, it hurt.
So I kept pursuing her, having sex with her again and again.
She enjoyed it too; I knew that.
She was special. My wolf knew it too.
For some reason, I could sense that sweet scent emanating from her.
It was strange. How could a human girl have such a scent? It baffled me.
Even stranger, other wolves seemed drawn to her scent as well.
More and more rogue wolves were approaching her. I’d already dealt with several, but some cunning ones still lurked in the shadows.
This forced me to teach Seraphina some self-defense techniques. At least she’d have some ability to protect herself in dangerous situations.
I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I couldn’t stop watching over her, and I wanted to protect her.
But she refused to reveal our relationship to other people, so I had to let it go for now.
When I arrived at the Eagle Club, I found Lucian and asked him to train with me.
His recent behavior had been off, and now I understood why.
But I wasn’t there to comfort him. He was my rival.
During training, I didn’t hold back. I fought him as if it were a real match.
Unsurprisingly, Lucian ended up on the ground, battered and bruised.
“Enough, Kael. You shouldn’t go all out,” the coach said, shaking his head.
I tossed my gloves aside and took a break.
“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help it.”
“You’ve been in a bad mood lately?” the coach asked, handing me a bottle of water.
“Yes… but don’t worry, I’ll adjust.”
That was all I could say.
“Maybe you should take a break?” He patted my shoulder.
“No, I’m fine.”
Just then, Rebecca called out to me.
“Kael, come here. I need to talk to you.”
I followed her outside.
“You asked me to look after Seraphina and let you know if anything happened,” Rebecca said with a laugh. “She’s taken two days off this week, and I heard they are visiting a nearby farm for a study trip.”
Looking at Rebecca’s bright smile, I could see the glint in her eyes.
She was a gossip, but I’d only told her that Seraphina and I were friends.
“Thanks, Rebecca. Please don’t tell anyone about my relationship with Seraphina,” I emphasized again.
This couldn’t get out. If Seraphina found out, she’d be furious.
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep it a secret,” Rebecca said, her eyes sparkling.
She seemed to have guessed something.
“Are you pursuing Seraphina?”
“Well… you could say that,” I admitted.
“Good luck. You’re outstanding. You’ll succeed.” Rebecca turned and left to continue her work.
Outstanding? Succeed?
In our society, survival of the fittest ruled. Only the strongest males could attract females.
The same applied in human society.
But I didn’t know what Seraphina thought.
If she liked someone like Lucian, shouldn’t she like me too?
I was far superior to that Lucian.
Yet, she seemed wary of me, distrustful of my feelings.
Was it because of my playboy reputation?
The thought filled me with regret.
But it didn’t matter. I swore I’d win Seraphina over.
Now, with her heading to the farm, I was filled with worry.
The farm was far from the city, giving rogue wolves plenty of opportunities to strike.
I had to follow her.
I quickly left the Eagle Club and drove to the farm where Seraphina was staying. I had to protect her.
As my car sped down the road, an unusual scent lingered in the air.
This town was crawling with rogue wolves. My father’s men had cleared out some, but the clever ones knew how to hide.
I couldn’t worry about the others, but I had to ensure Seraphina’s safety.
