Skull Walker quickly formed a seal with his hands, and dense gray-white energy rapidly gathered in his palms. In the next moment, he struck out towards Leo with a powerful blow. The thick gray-white energy transformed into a massive bone imprint, carrying a strong corrosive stench as it flew towards Leo.
Leo was not unfamiliar with this move from Skull Walker. He had seen Skull Walker use it before against the Crocodile King, and its power was immense. Leo raised his Dragon Sword, and as the sharp sword light surged, a transparent blue water light suddenly burst forth from the mountains below. In the next instant, a blue water light sword beam slashed down on the gray-white bone imprint, shattering it instantly.
“It’s you!?” Skull Walker’s old eyes narrowed as he stared at the woman who suddenly appeared beside Leo. “You’ve broken through?” Leo asked with a delighted expression.
Seraphina’s clear eyes were like water as she nodded gently. “Upper-stage Spirit Saint!” Sensing Seraphina’s aura, which was no weaker than his own, Skull Walker’s face showed a look of astonishment. He had previously checked Seraphina’s cultivation level during the chase and found her to be at the peak of mid-stage Spirit Saint. Breaking through to upper-stage Spirit Saint so quickly could only mean one thing.
“You ate that fully matured Jade Spirit Crystalfruit!?” Skull Walker’s old face showed anger and frustration. It was like drawing water with a bamboo basket-utterly futile.
Leo looked at Skull Walker and teased, “Old Taoist, how could we not eat the Spirit Fruit once we got our hands on it?”
“You…” Skull Walker’s left hand gripped his skull staff tightly, his entire body filled with malevolent energy due to his anger. Seraphina turned to Leo and said, “You just had a fierce battle with the Crocodile King. Rest for a bit; I’ll handle this evil Taoist.”
Leo shook his head and said, “This old thing is extremely cunning, and you’ve just broken through. Let’s deal with him together.”
“Alright.” Seraphina’s Skywater Blade trembled in her hand, releasing a transparent blue water light sword beam. “You two juniors are truly hateful!” Hearing that they intended to fight him two-on-one, Skull Walker’s eyes turned icy cold.
Despite his anger, Skull Walker was indeed cunning and knew better than to engage in a losing battle. He had no absolute confidence in defeating them both, especially since they had already consumed the Spirit Fruit, making the fight meaningless.
“Hmph, there are countless opportunities on Pill Sovereign Island. I can’t be bothered with you two juniors,” Skull Walker snorted coldly. “Don’t let me catch you again, or I’ll kill you both.”
After leaving this threat, Skull Walker’s entire body turned into a gray-white stream of light and shot towards the depths of Pill Sovereign Island.
“That old thing is truly sly,” Leo said with a cold smile. Skull Walker’s voluntary departure was good news for them, and they naturally wouldn’t pursue him.
“Are you alright?” Seraphina asked, looking at Leo.
“I’m fine. The battle with the Crocodile King took a lot out of me, but I’ll recover soon,” Leo shook his head. “Let me recover for a bit, and then we’ll continue searching for the Ancient Tyrant Pill Sovereign’s residence.”
Leo then sat on a rock on the mountaintop, took out a Spirit Stone, closed his eyes, and began to recover using the Nine Transformations of the Stars technique. About twenty minutes later, Leo opened his eyes, and the Spirit Stone in his hand turned to dust.
Leo stood up and looked at Seraphina, who was standing gracefully nearby. “Let’s go,” he said.
Seraphina put away her Skywater Blade and summoned her flying spiritual weapon, White Feather. The two of them turned into streams of light and headed towards the depths of Pill Sovereign Island.
Along the way, they encountered many other Cultivators heading towards the island’s interior. After more than an hour, they saw a magnificent palace under the blue sky in the distance.
The entire palace resembled an ancient giant beast lying on a vast plain. The grand palace was shrouded in a large protective light screen, with misty spiritual energy rising above it-a sign of its dense spiritual aura.
Leo squinted his eyes. Even from a distance, he could tell that the massive palace was enveloped by a high-level spirit-gathering array. Such an array could only be set up by a Spirit God realm expert.
Through the light screen, they could see a large Spirit Herb garden in front of the palace. The misty spiritual energy made it impossible to see the entire garden at once. The outermost part of the palace also had rivers and small mountains, resembling a paradise.
After observing for a while, Seraphina said, “The protective light screen has been breached in one spot, and many Cultivators have already gone inside.”
Leo also noticed that part of the protective light screen was indeed missing near the main entrance of the palace, and the palace gates were open.
Without further hesitation, they continued towards the palace. Soon, they entered through the palace walls.
Inside the walls was the Spirit Herb garden. As soon as they entered, they were greeted by the rich scent of herbs and plants. Looking around, Leo and Seraphina couldn’t help but show expressions of amazement.
The entire Spirit Herb garden was divided into large Spirit Fields like a chessboard. Each field was planted with various types of spirit grass, spirit flowers, and Spirit Fruits.
With just a quick glance, Leo could tell that even the lowest-grade spirit grass, Spirit Herbs, and Spirit Fruits were at least fourth-grade. Such an impressive display was truly astonishing.
Each Spirit Field contained hundreds to thousands of Spirit Herbs, all of excellent quality due to their long growth period. Any Cultivator at the Spirit Saint realm would be overjoyed to harvest even one field of these Spirit Herbs.
However, harvesting them was no easy task because each Spirit Field was protected by powerful barriers!
Noticing the faint Sealing Light Screen covering the Spirit Fields, Leo’s eyes gleamed with interest.
Barriers were a type of formation with special properties primarily used for protection and isolation to safeguard their contents from external harm.
Barriers generally did not have offensive capabilities but were designed for defense and counterattacks when attacked.
Without these barriers, the vast fields of Spirit Herbs would have been looted long before Leo and Seraphina arrived.
So far, only a small portion of the Spirit Fields had been breached and harvested; most remained intact, exuding vibrant life force.
“What’s the point of seeing but not being able to take? Watch my giant axe!” Not far from Leo and Seraphina, a burly shirtless man with greedy eyes unleashed his aura and swung his giant axe at the barrier protecting a field of Spirit Fruits.
