Xavier’s POV
I drove into McDonald’s window ordering spot and got everything I needed then paid and left, she didn’t hesitate at all, she started eating, I don’t mind as long as she is happy. She hums a happy tune as she eats, I smile at her.
Sometimes I get scared, she is so small but her tummy is big, who knows if it will grow more as the month approaches, and she is with twins, I heard it’s hard enough to birth one but she is having twins, I know I shouldn’t be thinking this but if she is in danger, am abandoning the kids and saving her first, as long as she is alive we will have more.
By the time we arrived home, she has eaten everything to half, she came down the car carrying her food and waddled inside like a duck, my cute little duck,
“Don’t fall no one is taking it from you ”
“You might”
She rushed inside regardless of my reminder, that woman will be the death of me, that doesn’t seem so bad either, the butler and a maid can to assist me take the things to the nursery we had already prepared in advance, it’s beautiful with blue and green colours, I know it isn’t the typical baby’s colour but we like it and hope the little ones will like it.
We started sorting things out while our madam supervises with her food beside her, the cook chastises me for spoiling her too much, these are not good for her she says but what can I do when she wants it but I don’t know how to reject her, let her enjoy it.
With everything done, we went to the dinning room, immediately she saw what’s on the menu, she immediately abandoned her ice cream and neglectable remaining chicken, I have don’t know how to pronounce the name but it’s a Korean beaf stew that is really spicy, also a street food, it’s really nice and good but I can’t handle any type of spicy, Jessica can especially now she is pregnant.
She sat down obediently on her seat waiting for white rice, which we know that she won’t eat most of it just the stew, (Galbi Jjim), but at least something goes down her tummy, I watch her eye the size of the rice, the cook considered the fact that she had eaten something and made the rice portion really small.
She started eating, I instructed the maid to take her ice cream and chicken upstairs to the fridge because I know she will still look for it after eating, the amount of food she consumes since pregnant is quite alarming but it doesn’t show on her body, don’t know if it’s her metabolism or the babies but she looks okay, not overweight as she eats but she is a little thicker than before.
Once we were done, I carried her upstairs (she overate and can’t lift herself anymore), she is definitely heavier but nothing I can’t handle, I took her upstairs, bath her and prepared her for the night, after I freshened up myself, I climbed up the bed to have her scoop into my embrace, I was spooning her, caressing her tummy as she likes it, it also makes me feel closer to both her and the kids in many ways.
“Are you sleeping Jess?”
“About to what is it?”
“It’s Mike just texted to say that Laura has given birth”
“Oh my goodness, thank God, how is she?”
“Fine and good, both she and the baby”
“Oh my goodness, am so happy for her, let’s go see her tomorrow ”
“Of course ”
We slept soon after discussing how nervous they will both be, Laura and Mike are two individual with the same level of awkwardness, they believe in hard, rough and sweet love so having something they have to treat with care and gentleness is gonna be fun to watch.
We prepared the next morning to see them, we got fruits, baby stuffs and flowers, immediately we arrived Jessica went to see the baby ignoring everyone in the room,
“He is so small”
“Yes of course he is, he just been born”
“Laura, how are you feeling? Was it….. Was it painful?”
“No, it wasn’t, I was surprised about it though, it was really easy and painless”
“Okay then, am so relieved, so what is his name?”
“Well we settle for Lorenzo, it’s cute right? ”
“Yes, it’s beautiful am so happy for you Angel, so happy”
“Me too am happy for myself, now we just have to wait for you to give him a wife or a friend ”
“Oh come on”
“Won’t it be exciting if our kids marry themselves, we will be families instead ”
“Yes that’s true, I pray I have a daughter, Lorenzo is so handsome ”
“Okay ladies hold on there”
I interrupted them before they continue, I have no problem with their plan but my daughter is still too young and every man no matter who tries to date her will go through me first, and if Lorenzo is gonna be like his father, then my answer is a big NO unless he is like his mother then he has to pass through some manly tests.
“Okay, you two should wait till they have grown up, and my daughter is too young to have a suitor”
“Xavier I never knew you were such a daddy con?”
“No Laura don’t miss understand me, you know kids are unpredictable, they might hate each other”
“My Lorenzo is gonna grow up to be a good man, I will make sure if that”
“Okay, am just saying they might be in a like, hate relationship you know but who am I to judge, if my daughter is of age and being Lorenzo as her husband then I will change my mind then”
“Yes!!!!”
They both exclaimed while clapping their hands, Mike wasn’t saying anything just sat here staring into space, I took him outside and asked him what’s the problem was,
“Hey man, you have been spacing out a lot what’s wrong?”
“I think Lorenzo is gonna be out only child”
“Why is something wrong with Laura?”
“No, it was scary, I was with her the labour room to witness the birth of Lorenzo as Laura wanted and man it was really…. Traumatizing ”
“Is it painful?”
“You can’t imagine, I would have opted for a peaceful cesarean session had we known”
“Well she took an epidermal injection or whatever it’s called ”
“Yes, that’s why she didn’t feel it but the scene was scary and mesmerising at the same time, knowing that you created another soul with love, the feeling man is really good”
“Then am glad, you are a father now, man up, chill bro”
“Thanks a lot”
“What are brothers for”
We smiled at each other and went back to the ladies who to my annoyance wee planning a wedding that is definitely not happening, for crying out loud my daughter hasn’t been born yet.
