Xavier’s POV.
We took our bath together and went to sleep because it’s getting late, we dressed up and lay down, she partially on top of me,
“You like the food then? If what I deduced isn’t true”
“It’s ok, I like those ones, everything she made is okay, I just started craving for that particular time”
“Okay then, I will tell the cook so so that she will making them for you, if you have any other cravings tell them okay?”
“Okay, Xavier, I want to sleep now, give me some cuddles ”
I hugged her and smiled cuddling her as she wanted, we slept off.
In the middle of the night around one in the morning, I heard sniffling and tiny sobs, I sat up immediately to see Jessica crying,
“What is it sweetheart?”
“Nothing? Am fine”
“It can’t be nothing, why are you crying, come in tell me sweetie, okay, tell me”
She raised her puffy face to me, her face was full of tears and snots, I cleaned it up for her and held her close me,
“Now tell me, what is upsetting you?”
“Am… I want to have a chocolate and vanilla mixed fruit ice cream”
“Is that why you were crying?”
“I couldn’t find it in the fridge and I am craving for it so bad it hurts and it’s late”
“Don’t worry I know where to get it fir you, stop crying and wait for me”
“Are you sure, I wouldn’t want you getting it tomorrow ”
“Don’t worry ”
I pecked her and left, honestly I don’t know anywhere but I will go to any (24/7) Supermarket, convenience store around to get it for her.
It took me an hour to see and buy the ice cream, I got home to find Jess sleeping again, I woke her up to eat it but she said she couldn’t again, that she feels like puking whenever she looks at it, I put her back to sleep then stored the ice cream in our room fridge, so that when she wants it she can have it
The next morning I prepared for work, leaving her to sleep, I kissed her goodbye and left, I told the maids and cook to inform about her condition and text me when she wakes up.
“Sir, you have a meeting with the IT GLOVES company this morning, you have three minutes to prepare, they are already here”
My secretary informed me immediately I stepped into the office, seems like it is among the schedules we pushed back yesterday, I nodded at his information and took my materials to leave, I arrived at the meeting room and after greeting each other, we proceeded, the new project we are working on needs some things that only an IT company can do, I decided to use a new company for it, they are more prone to new ideas, new era and new study, and this is the fourth one I have met so far, I have chosen the first team and after the whole thing I choose this fourth team, they will work together for the project.
After the meeting I went back to my office to deal with the remaining files from yesterday, I worked over time to finish up, I wondered what Mike is doing, if he is running around like me now, I laugh as I remember how he looked the last time he came here, he looked like he has the burden of the whole world on his shoulders.
Mike’s POV
I sat down on my dinning table looking at Laura wolf down the chicken pepper soup that was made by our cook, she hasn’t been eating that well recently, the morning sickness wasn’t that severe anymore, she can still eat some things but the vomiting part hasn’t stopped yet or the crazy cravings she often had, I had to get a cook because the things she wanted were becoming hard to find.
I wished I would just ran away again to Xavier’s office but Laura might start throwing a tantrum again, she wasn’t like this before now, she is in her second trimester and it made her behave like a child which is actually cute though but I can’t sleep at night with her whining, not to talk of her increased sex libido.
“Mike, I want you to eat with me”
I looked at her, look at the remaining food she wanted me to eat with her and nearly sighed out loud,
“Baby, you are almost done with the food and am not really hungry right now ”
“So you don’t want to eat with me, is that it?”
“Okay I will, just feed me with your hands”
She smiled and gave me some to eat, I can count the amount she feed me before eating the remaining, what pregnancy can do to people, the Laura I know won’t want to eat much because it will make her fat and sluggish, she will buy food just to give it to me to eat it for her so be she will be happy, ever since she got pregnant, she eats more than ever as if her body is trying to regain all the food she missed and funny enough, she isn’t adding weight.
My phone rang and I answered,
“Hello ma”
“Hello Mike my son, is my daughter Laura there?”
“Yes ma, she is eating”
“Okay, you people said that, eh, you are coming back fir your traditional marriage this week Friday”
“Yes ma, we said so though we might push it back a bit, I don’t think Laura can travel right now ”
“Is the pregnancy disturbing her, she is fine, she can travel, she is pregnant not crippled”
That’s my mother in-law Laura’s mother, if I don’t know any better I will think she doesn’t care about her daughter but I have found out that how she talks.
“She is fine, we will come back if she is able to, I don’t want to stress her”
“Ewohh, nwoke oma, nsogbu adiro, no problem, I will tell her father what you said okay, jisie Ike, take it easy”
“Ok ma, extend my greetings to father as well ”
“Okay my dear”
I ended the call,
“Was that my mum?”
“Yes, it was, she is asking if we are still coming back ”
“Of course we are, Xavier and Laura are both coming with us”
“You know Jessica is pregnant, she may or might not come ”
“Yes I know that, so I will ask her later, but I know they will attend my white wedding, yeah?”
“If course they will, it’s being done here”
“Okay then, baby?”
“What is it, Hun?”
She cast a flirty gaze towards me, I went hard immediately, damn body always betraying me, I allowed her led me to our room, gosh she is the sweetest.
