Eliezer and Brian looked guilty, but quickly regained their composure. “It’s not betrayal. We did it for the sake of the company and the public.”
“In Roberto’s house, there is a vault in the basement that not only contains treasures but also records of the embezzlement of the company’s profits over the years.”
“He arranged his relatives in six states to specialize in selling scarce or expired medications.”
“He also had an affair with Paige…”
Eliezer and Brian exposed Roberto’s heinous actions, leaving dozens of high-ranking officials stunned, including Areli. Although she thought Roberto was greedy and immoral, she never expected him to commit such crimes.
Fifteen minutes later, Eliezer and Brian stopped their accusations, their throats dry.
Without waiting for Areli’s order, Lillian turned on the lights in the conference room, and the people by the window opened the curtains.
At that moment, the conference room was very quiet. The sound of everyone’s breathing could be heard, and all eyes were focused on Roberto.
“Roberto, the company has been good to you, yet you’re doing such despicable things behind our backs.”
Areli spoke with anger, “You have truly disappointed me.”
Her voice was as cold as ice, filled with intense anger.
Kameron and others approached Roberto with handcuffs.
Upon hearing Areli’s words, Roberto sneered and first glared fiercely at Eliezer and Brian before shifting his gaze to Darnell.
Compared to the shock and anger of everyone else in the room, Darnell seemed nonchalant, as if it had nothing to do with him or as if he had known this outcome all along.
At this point, Roberto understood that all of this must have been orchestrated by Darnell!
“Mr. Gower, what’s wrong? Now that everything is exposed, are you getting angry?”
Darnell calmly looked at Roberto’s resentful expression. He never showed mercy to his enemies. “Alas, you brought this upon yourself… It’s your own doing.”
Roberto’s mouth twitched violently in rage. Darnell’s words infuriated him.
“Don’t think you’ve won, brat!”
Roberto shouted angrily, “Just wait. You will soon pay the price. I won’t let any of you get away.”
This time, Darnell didn’t mock him. Instead, he narrowed his eyes slightly. He could sense the strong determination in Roberto’s tone.
Kameron handcuffed Roberto and said sternly, “Let’s go!”
“Mr. Gower, take care in prison.”
As Kameron and other officers led Roberto away, Darnell suddenly smiled and patted Roberto’s arm twice.
“I hope to see you again soon.”
Roberto felt a sharp pain in his arm but quickly dismissed it with a smirk.
“Don’t worry. We will definitely meet again.”
After Roberto was taken away by the police, Areli waved her hand to calm down the noise and discussions in the room.
“Roberto has harmed the company’s interests and violated laws. With authorization from the board of directors, I hereby dismiss Roberto from Spectrum Pharmaceuticals. I will temporarily take over his responsibilities.”
Areli continued to stabilize the situation. “Also, this afternoon, auditors will be sent to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals headquarters to conduct a comprehensive inventory of company assets.”
“For those who have done something shady behind my back or have borrowed company property without returning it, you have five hours to come to my office and explain yourselves.”
“If you fail to report by three o’clock, then you can explain it to the police.”
The crowd responded in a low voice, “Yes.”
Then Areli turned her attention to Darnell and made a direct announcement.
“The matter of Darnell leaking information has been clarified. He did not betray us. Instead, Roberto and Paige set him up with the intention of driving an elite like him out of the company so that Pioneer Properties can deal with us more easily.”
“This time, we were able to expose Roberto as a real traitor thanks to Darnell. He put in a lot of effort.”
Areli’s voice was icy cold. “Now that everything is clear, I will give him justice and appropriate rewards. We can’t let people feel disheartened.”
“Now I announce that Darnell is reinstated as the sales manager. And he will receive a reward of two hundred thousand dollars for exposing the mole within the company.”
She stared at Darnell. “Mr. Halford, don’t disappoint me.”
Darnell wanted to refuse at first, but seeing Areli’s cold gaze, he could only smile bitterly. “Thank you, Miss Fanshaw.”
Areli then assigned some tasks for further discussion on managing after Roberto’s departure before dismissing everyone.
The notice of Roberto’s dismissal quickly spread throughout various departments.
Darnell also received two hundred thousand dollars in cash.
Returning to the sales department with his reward money, Darnell was greeted with cheers from those who already knew about it. Clearly, for them, Darnell was much better than Roberto.
The three women from Python Team cheered and hugged Darnell enthusiastically before quickly tidying up the office.
In less than fifteen minutes, Darnell sat back in his clean office. Refreshments were promptly served as well. The cheerful trio made him feel that life was good.
He placed the two hundred thousand dollars on his desk, considering treating everyone to lunch.
But before he could even settle into his chair properly, Lillian came running to call him to Areli’s office. Sighing, Darnell had no choice but to get up and go upstairs.
Before he left, he stuffed the two hundred thousand dollars into a drawer.
Five minutes later, Darnell met with Areli. She had Lillian pour him a cup of coffee and then praised him, “Well done!”
“In just three days, you managed to decisively deal with Roberto, that big parasite. You not only helped me get rid of a rival but also excised a tumor from the company.”
Today, Areli was wearing a beige top with a V-neckline that revealed her prominent collarbone. Her black pencil skirt had slits on both sides, reaching about a hand’s length, showcasing her smooth, fair legs. She wore a pair of stylish high heels, which accentuated her rounded and full figure.
“My contribution is really significant, huh?” Darnell glanced at her a few times and then chuckled. “Miss Fanshaw, since I’ve done so much, can you let me off the hook as the sales department head?”
“No!” Areli refused without hesitation. “Roberto, Brian, and Eliezer are fired. The company is short-handed right now, and you’re the only capable and trustworthy person I have. Who else can I rely on?”
“Besides, the sales department has been in turmoil for so long. It needs you to stabilize things.”
“Of course, the most important reason is that I’ll be very busy in the coming months and won’t be in the office often. I need you to keep an eye on things for me.”
“Roberto may be gone, but there are still remnants of his influence. Without you here to keep them in check, they might rebel at any moment.”
Seeing the determination in her eyes and thinking of the pitiable trio of women from the Python Team, Darnell could only sigh helplessly. “Fine, I’ll take on the role.”
Areli picked up a cup of black tea. “How dare you complain about being a sales department head with a salary of millions?! If it were anyone else, I’d have slapped them already. I believe you’re genuinely lazy.”
“However, now that you’ve agreed to be the sales manager, you better do it properly. We have a 1. 8 billion gap to fill. Give it your all.”
As she spoke, she swayed the cup of black tea in her hand, her eyes soft and filled with an alluring charm.
“Kaff kaff!
Darnell nearly spat out his coffee in shock, staring at Areli in disbelief. “Didn’t you say that the ultimatum didn’t matter anymore? Why are you suddenly asking me to give it my all? Miss Fanshaw, you can’t do this to me. I thought coming back as the sales department head was just to help you keep things in order.”
“But now you’re telling me there’s a 1. 8 billion gap in sales performance to fill? If that’s the case, I quit.”
He had come to Whiteville just to coast along, but things became more complicated. If this continued, Darnell felt he might end up as the company’s general manager.
Areli tossed him a pack of tissues, her pretty face showing a hint of helplessness. “A change of plans. Something comes up, so…”
“But don’t worry. I won’t force you to achieve it at all costs. Just do your best.”
Darnell couldn’t resist Areli’s pleading gaze. “Fine, I’ll do my best.”
“Keep your phone on 24/7. Over the next few months, I’ll probably need to contact you frequently.”
As she spoke, Areli picked up a pair of slippers and lifted her feet, her fair toes enticing.
“You’re the only one I trust in this company.”
The way Areli removed her shoes was both graceful and sensual, especially the way she leaned forward to pick them up. The glimpse of her fair chest left Darnell momentarily speechless!
The slender heels clicked against the floor as her beautiful heels slipped out of the shoes. Then, her legs lightly retracted, and her smooth, fair feet emerged from the high heels.
The arch of her foot was indescribably exquisite. Areli swept her right leg across the floor, and the high heels clattered under the desk.
Darnell coughed. “Miss Fanshaw, do you need any help?”
“No.” Areli slipped her feet into the slippers and shot Darnell a glance. “If you really want to help, focus on managing the sales department and pull off another major achievement.”
Just then, Darnell’s phone rang. As soon as he answered, he heard Shayla’s panicked voice.
“Mr. Halford, it’s bad! Bailee has run off with your $200, 000!”
