CHAPTER 555: REVEALING SECRETS II

“Torturing a woman is for the greater good? Amelia, are you being serious? Who are you exactly?” Emma questioned, folding her arms across her chest, whilst contemplating on the truth that might or might not be in the news that Amelia’s master had shared to the latter.
Amelia sighed. “I am still me, Emma. I am still working to protect you. Stop fussing like you always do. This is not the time for that. And I doubt that the master would kill the matron. He just needs information.”
“And what if the matron is strong enough to resist the torture, what if she holds back on speaking? Will he let her go?”
There was a tense silence. Amelia said nothing.
Emma knew that the matron would be killed. It shook her heart, the fact that people might die to keep her secret.
But wasn’t the matron a human? Why not just give the man the information he wanted? Why fight for what isn’t entirely related to her? Emma wished the matron would speak.
“Well, that’s by the way. You can keep hanging onto your master like a hopeless fanatic. That’s your business, not mine. But if my mother really has left the shores of the states to England, then I should be on my way there.” Emma said, making a show of walking toward her bags, as if to pack up and leave immediately for England, and when Amelia stepped toward her arrogantly in a fighter stance, Emma smiled.
The master was really evil. He wasn’t completely honest. She could also see that her sister was kept in the dark about many things. She had seen the unsurety in Amelia’s eyes when she had questioned the master’s ability to kill.
Too bad that her sister had someone like that who had trained her. Too bad she was a fanatic. Emma would have considered taking her with her, if anything, at least to have a regular face around in a world where everything seemed to be hanging on a loose thread.
“You can’t leave Emma, unless you are coming with me.”
Emma chuckled, making Amelia grit her teeth in impatience. The master had asked her to bring Emma before the latter had her shift. She didn’t know why, but the master must have his reasons, just like he had for killing the matron. He hadn’t explained himself to her, except saying that it had been necessary.
Amelia knew that if she told Emma this, the latter would not see her as anything good at all. And Amelia didn’t want that. She still wanted her sister with her. Emma was still her favorite person, even more than the master. But her safety was important.
“Being with my mother, shouldn’t that be the safest bet? My sister in England has many strong friends, I don’t think your master can top that. So, shouldn’t I be safer back there? I think, Amelia, that you should be asking yourself who your master is, and what exactly he wants from me? How sure are you that he hadn’t killed your parents just to have you as a pawn? How sure are you…”
“That’s okay, Emma.” Amelia demanded in a steel force, cracking her knuckles. “I see that you are hellbent on misunderstanding my master. Well then, you leave me no choice…”
Emma snickered, already sporting a flame in her hand.
“Well, catch me if you can….” She said, holding back a tear from falling from her right eye.

“So, if I should get you right, Margo… you are saying that Malone, Tempest’ s husband had slept with you thinking that you were drunk, and that you had pretended to be, just to have a feel of what Tempest felt with him? Did you feel it?”
“Ketura, stop it. You are not making it easier for her. Do you think it was easy for Margo to say this? We all know Margo has been quite withdrawn since her mother left us and went to be with the ancestors…”
“But, my Queen…”
“Let it go, Ketura. After all, it’s all in the past. Tempest is dead too. So, there is no need to make a fuss. About Daniel… I am not sure. What did you do after the act? Did you both do it again, Margo? How did Daniel find out?”
Margo was crying now, shamefulness stopping her from speaking for a while.
“Margo…. Oh my Margo…” Zipfarah muttered affectionately, standing up from her seat and moving swiftly to her niece.
She hugged the former to herself, a tear pricking her eyes as Margo bawled like a mad woman in her arms. Margo wasn’t like this. She has never cried this way since her mother left them.
Zipfarah glanced at Keturah. The latter sighed dejectedly, and reclined deeper into the sofa, wondering if Tempest should know of this new development.

Maya blanched when she saw Eva in front of them, with a sinister smile on her lips which made her look horrific if anything. Beside her, Freya had the same expression. Only Yodah seemed to have expected this, seemed to have seen this coming.
“I knew you were trouble the moment I set my eyes on you, and I knew you would tell them, and that’s why I followed you after putting that fussy woman to sleep.”
Maya’s heart skipped, hearing Eva’s words, wondering the aspect of sleep that the other was talking about. Did she kill her aunt?
“Oh, don’t be so dramatic, Maya…” Eva said, handling a green flame in her hand, just by the snap of her fingers. “She is not dead, just asleep. Although I am sorry that it won’t be the case for you. You see, I can’t afford you telling the others about the new me. That would be troublesome now, wouldn’t it?”
Yodah shifted on his feet, whilst calculating how best to displace his young lifemate without hurting her.
However, Freya smiled softly.
“I’m sorry, Eva.” She said, startling her two companions, just at the same moment that a flash of light appeared from behind Eva, and an invisible hand struck her neck.
The little girl fell to a heap on the floor, immediately, without making a sound other than ohh.
