When Emma heard her father’s calm question, she soughed, and took a look around, wondering the best lie to gve her old man, so that he could let her in first.
But couldn’t he have waited till she got inside? She wondered, aware of how sleepy she was, how hungry she was, and how tired she was. She was also aware of the neigbour depositing June inside his car, probaby to take her tto the hospital.
Good for them. She surmised, knowing from her father’s aloof stance that he knew who June was and what she had done-reason why he wasn’t berating her. Now to his question…
“Why did you leave England, Emma? I am sure that your school is still in session. If there was any break at all, the chancellor would have informed me. But there was none. Which means you are here by your own accord.” Mr Jason stated, folding his arms across his chest.
He watched his so troublesome daughter struggle with her words, so much so that it would have been funny if not for the seriousness of the situation.
“Dad, can’t you let me in first, and let me eat and rest? We can talk later, please. My head is so muddy at the momemt, that I can’t think cleary.” Emma answered humbly, employimg the tactic of her puppy eyes.
Mr. Jason shook his head. “But your mind was clear enough to remember June and to attack her?”
Emma pouted, folding her arms across her chest again, choosing to stay mute. There was no use lying around this, her father wouldn’t believe her.
Mr. Jason grunted, seeing Emma’s silence, before stepping aside so that she would walk in. There were much hours before night fall. He was aware that tomorrow she would be eighteen.
“Thanks Dad.”‘ Emma mentioned gratefully, the relief evident in her voice.
She strolled in tiredly, walking straight to her room, happy to see that it was just as she had left-even neat, like they had known that she would be back today.
Without much ado, she removed her top and trousers, leaving her in the bralette and boy shorts, before dumping herself on the soft beed.
“Ah…” She mused, enjoying the feel of the bed, turning to the door, when she heard her father wwalk inn. He was carrying her luggages.
“You know, Emma, we have to talk. You wouldn’t be staying here for long…” He said suddenly as he dropped the bags by her wardrobe.
Emma furrowed her eyebrows, sitting up from the bed, wondering what her father meant, wondering why she couldn’t stay here, about to voice her questions, when he raised his hand to his lips.
“But for now, just sleep. Food will be ready when you are awake. Amelia will be happy to see you.” This he stated, before turning aound and walking out of the room.
Emma rested back her head on the soft pillow, her mind trying to understand the theory behind her father’s last statement.
She couldn’t stay here? Why?
She tried to think, but sleep was ccatching up to her-so after a last failed attempt, she succumbed to the inevitable.
There would be much time for thinking and asking questions later.

“Are you sure Fayot wouldn’t be awake until we are back?” Melvina asked Freya as they approaceed Esther’s house.
With them were Blenda, Lucille, Maya, Anthony, Sheila, Clem, Shane and Lent. Yodah and Ava was back at the the pack house, keeping watch, while Curtis was already on his way to his pack.
The ancients too were also gone. The recent company had decided to check out Esther’s house together before checking out Sheila’s old house.
“Yes, I am sure.” Freya answered, as they came to stop in front of Esther’s house.
“Anthony is right then, the house is shut down with magic. Freya, you can bypass it right?” Sheila asked, taking a look around the house which she and Tempest had visited a lot during those good old days.
It made her wonder about the other witches, sisters, who had also lived in this terrioty. Bridget and Brenda, right? She wasn’t sure again. It had been a long time. But she still knew their house. Maybe she will check them out later. They might have some anwers to the questions that were plaguing her mind.
“Of course, mom.” Freya answered, smiling sheeplishly when Sheila smiled at her, forgetting her troubles suddenly.
Sheila didn’t think she would ever get used to her daughters calling her mom. It had been such a long time.
“Let’s start up then.”

Yodah sighed as he watched Ava and Eva talk about mundane things like her assignment and her interests. Seemed she had boys that were crushing on her in school.
He mused at the thought, scoffing at himself. He was jealous of five year olds? What the hell. His scoff attracted the two females in the room.
“What’s wrong, Yodah? Our talk is boring you?” He heard Ava ask snidely, and shook his head. Seeing that she was mate to an older ancient, he wasn’t ready to risk her fury.
Females were easily annoyed, and seeing that she was already sulking and missing her mate, he didn’t wwant to bear the brunt of the anger.
At the same time, his eyes found Eva’s. She was staring at him. Staring at him blankly. He felt himself get hot and bothered, and instantly looked away, wondering if she could tell that she excited him. Wasn’t she too young for that?
“No, Ava. I think he has more important things to do than look over us.”
This was delivered in a somber tone, and Yodah bit his lips to prevent himself from spouting that this was the best place to be; right beside his lifemate.
**
“Your sister is back.”
Amelia turned at the voice, dropping the cup that was on her hand.
“What do you mean by my sister?” She asked the man who had slithered into the makeshift tent.
“Emma is back. You should get to her soon. You know what to do.” The man shrouded in darkness spoke, before getting out of the tent backwardly.
