CHAPTER 395: DRENCHED IN SHOCK

Book:The Alpha's Addiction Published:2025-2-23

“Yodah, what did you say?” Freya asked, gulping down her saliva, her hands already shaking.
Emma slipped her right hand over hers, even whilst wondering what was wrong, and who was Dobah.
They both had been basking under an atmosphere of camaraderie when the younger vampire had spoken about a certain Dobah who was already searching for them, and was on his way here. Who was that? Another vampire? Perhaps a guardian?
She wasn’t sure, but she knew she would get answers.
“My father is on his way here. Mother too. I think they have tracked us down. Uncle Kane too. Although, Dad is complaining that uncle Kane is still underground… perhaps not used to walking under the sun with the aid of the ring. They are waiting till he gets up.” Yodah mentioned.
Emma could tell he was also nervous.
Was his Dad that bad? She wondered, her eyes traveling the short distance to Aiden and Julius. The twins were not nervous, not at all. Another emotion was present on their faces. Surprise. Shock.
Why was that?
“Who is Dobah? Who is Kane? Why are y’all looking so drenched in nervousness and shock?” She asked, folding her arms across her chest, her eyebrows furrowed causing a frown to mask her face.
Freya gulped down another bout of saliva again.
“Well…” She started.. “Dobah is Yodah’s father. Kane is his twin. Dobah’s twin, I mean. Both are technically my guardians over there, seeing that I am Yodah’s best friend, and without family over there. They were against me coming here to search for Aiden. According to them, I’m still young to have a mate.” She said.
Emma nodded, not blaming the twins. Freya was too young to be mated to a vampire of over a thousand years. She wasn’t sure exactly but at least Aiden should be more than a hundred. Vampires live the longest. Almost eternal.
But she wasn’t going to tell her sister that.
So, rather, she nodded, and asked up another question.
“They know Aiden in person?” She asked Freya.
“I’m not sure. I hadn’t even known his name. Just his face.” Freya replied.
“I don’t understand. You travelled all the way from the United States to England, to search for someone you don’t even know? How do you see his face?” Emma asked.
“My dreams.” Freya replied, and Emma opened her mouth to say something, then shut it.
What the hell!
“That was really a long shot.” She said after a while, darting her eyes to Aiden who shrugged, and reclined back into the sofa.
Looking for someone in your dreams. Really a long shot. She thought.
“Okay. But why are Aiden and Julius scared of them?” She asked, taking her lips in, as if in deep thought.
Freya and Yodah furrowed their eyebrows, even as they turned to glance at Julius and Aiden.
“I’m not surprised if you know my father and uncle. After all, Aiden, you had mentioned some days ago that you had hunted with them. So, why are you scared of meeting them?” Yodah asked, and the twins shrugged. Julius in particular rolled his eyes at Aiden, not believing that his twin had lied to get on the good book of the young male of their kind.
“Aiden…” Freya called, unable to take the silence any longer.
“It’s a long story.” Aiden replied, and Emma scoffed.
“Cut it short. Give a summary. Did you guys do something?” She asked, not satisfied with Aiden’s answer.
“Well, not really. We were just kids when they hunted and made a name for themselves. We looked up to them. And let’s say, at one time, we had entered trouble for eavesdropping on their conversation with the father of our recent king.” Julius replied, seeing that Aiden wasn’t planning on saying anything anytime soon.
Emma laughed then.
“I see…” She drawled, laughing the more when she saw the look on Yodah’s face. It was obvious he had believed Aiden.

Leonarya was just stepping out of the prison house when the phantom appeared in front of her.
“Wait for me in the inner court.” She said, dismissing the being. She wanted to check in something important first, before hearing any bad news. She knew that the phantom had no good news to offer, because if there was one, Freta would have been right behind the being.
But there was no Freya. The full gist can wait for later. She thought angrily, walking past the phantom to a small one room apartment sitting alone on one part of the field.
Not turning back to know if the phantom had obeyed, she walked into the house, sighing as she dropped into a soft chair, waving her hand backward, having the door lock by itself.
A box was on the small table in front of her.
She gently opened it, smiling bitterly as she brought out a small bowl from it.
The small bowl was filled with water, water that strangely didn’t pour away or overflow the bowl even though it was to the brim of the bowl.
She dipped her fingers into the bowl, excluding her thumb, and made a wave inside the water, as if making a sweep in the bowl.
She did so three times, and suddenly the images of two babies appeared in the water.
The bitter smile lengthened on her lips, even as a lone tear dropped from her right eye.
A knock rasped on the door, and she quickly let down the bowl into the box, and closed it up.
She stood up, dried her eyes, straightened her black flowing gown, and walked to the door.
Opening it, she saw the phanthom with Kyran at the door.
“What is the matter?” She asked, piquing up her right eyebrow.
“There are two or three that you should know.” The phanthom replied.
” And what are they?” Leonarya asked, annoyed that they had interrupted her private time, but still curious over what they had to say.
“For one, Freya isn’t coming back. She is glued to one of the vampires.” The phanthom stated, ignoring Kyran whose eyes dilated in shock and anger.
“Okay… the second?” Leonarya queried, ignoring the jab of that information.
“Your mother sent a message.” The phantom said.
