The beast gritted his teeth, pounding voraciously at the walls of the red transparent ball that covered the entirety of him, especially as he saw the squirrel smirking at him, his arms folded tightly across his chest.
“Thanks Prescott.” Emma said, glad enough that the beast was in a cage at the moment, unable to escape anytime soon. She would think of a way to put the necklace around his neck later.
“You’re welcome, Emma.” The squirrel replied, and Freya let out an audible gasp which attracted the attention of the other still stunned people in the hall, for she had just heard Prescott speak with Emma.
A talking animal? She shook her head, wondering if she had heard wrong, googling at Prescott who was now looking at her.
“It’s exciting to see another person who can hear me talk.” Prescott muttered, before waving at Freya. Emma snorted.
“How is that possible? Who are you?” Emma asked, letting her gaze rest on Freya.
“I don’t know why I can hear him talk. I guess it’s another gift of my kind.” Freya replied, unconsciously coughing when Yodah, Aiden and Julius communicated telepathically to her that they couldn’t hear the squirrel talk.
What the hell!
“They can’t hear him talk, right?” Emm said, more of a statement, than a question. She had heard them discuss.
“You can hear us communicate? What are you?” Yodah blurted out, before he could stop himself.
Around them, some werewolves gathered around, coming closer.
Noticing them, Melvina asked them to join the rest in the safety room. She ordered them to transport the news that the enemies have been conquered, and that the coronation would be continued soonest.
The warriors wanted to ask about the bloodied environment, and how the guests would be comfortable here, but she waved them away, citing that they would take care of it.
Immediately, the warriors left, she returned her gaze to Emma and the squirrel. She had heard Yodah’s question, and was very surprised that the redhead could hear the vampires speak, the same way she had been shocked when she had met Freya for the first time. The resemblance was too much to be relegated as a coincidence.
After she had confronted Esther about the voices and the witch had denied, she had heard Anthony’s voice through the mind link, and he had asked about her whereabouts which she had revealed immediately. It hadn’t been up to five minutes, he had shown up with the girl and the professor, and one other guy who had called himself Yodah, the girl’s best friend. She had also found out that Aiden was the girl’s lifemate. A knowledge which had triggered her curiosity about what really Aiden and co. was, for definitely they weren’t vampires. Vampires had no hot heart to feel. The legends which she had only heard about in stories had crossed her mind then, but she had counted it off since it had been recorded that they had been extinct. Now watching as Aiden traced his steps back to Freya, she wondered if it was really so, or if some had escaped the massive destruction of their kind.
“Emma, where have you been? We have been looking all around for you?” She asked Emma, seeing that the former wasn’t acting like she would give Yodah any reply soon. Her eyes rather were on Anthony. Why was that? And who was the squirrel?
“I’ve been with Queen Zipfarah. She had sent her granddaughter to pick me up from the cafe that day, seeing that her evil daughter might want to take me captive. Prescott is my escort. And about us communicating together, I have no idea why that is so. It just happened. I don’t know why I can hear y’all communicate with each other.” Emma said, giving a reply to both Melvina’s and Yodah’s question. But her eyes didn’t leave Anthony. She wanted him up and doing. Seeing him lying down there was making her uncomfortable.
“Don’t worry Emma. He will be up soon.” Maya mentioned, standing up straight. She had been sitting on the floor this whole time, Anthony’s head on her laps. Now, she had gently laid his head on the cloth material, before standing up.
If the situation was different, Emma would have loved to tease Maya about her choice of dressing to a party as big as this. But since that wasn’t the case, she walked hastily to the Blondie who also smiled, and opened her arms, knowing that the redhead wanted a hug.
Emma chuckled, before allowing herself to be engulfed in Maya’s arms. She had missed her, more than she had bargained.
Still in that state, she whispered in her ear;
“Your dress is the best looking tonight.”
Maya laughed out loudly, before placing her palm on Emma’s red hair, and ruffling it roughly.
“Hey!” Emma laughed, pushing her hand away.
Melvina smiled, watching them play.
Alpha Peter, a bit tired from standing and watching dramas, walked up to his former seat, and sat down. His mind clogged with a lot of thoughts, even as his eyes wandered from his son, now in a beast form, to Emma who was talking with his niece.
He couldn’t help but wonder why, despite her non-human abilities, she had a human scent.
How? Why?
Meanwhile, his action of walking away to a chair, had attracted the attention of the people in the hall.
Curtis(He had come in with the other warriors, but hadn’t gone away with them when Melvina had commanded so.), Clem, Shane and Leo, stood together, and looked around the hall, wondering how they would start clearing the hall off the dirt of dead bodies.
Leo’s eyes strayed to the opposing werewolf who was still unconscious. He would take him to the prison yards later. He concluded.
Julius stalked toward Ava and stood close to her, smiling as he saw her cheeks stain red.
This was oblivious to the others in the room, except Yodah who glanced and shifted his gaze away from them, to the big red ball in front of them all, wondering how they would get rid of the beast.
Aiden stood with Freya, who was watching Emma and Maya animatedly. She wished to join their Convo. She wished to be among them, talking. For the first time in her life, she envied a discussion between two girl friends.
