“Boyfriend?” Johnny repeated her words, savoring them between his lips. Then he let out a scoffing laugh. “You really don’t take what I say seriously at all.”
Tilda shot back, “What did you say?”
He had said so much, most of it nonsense. How could she remember it all?
“We still have one more time, right? You have a boyfriend now, so is it convenient for you to continue fulfilling our agreement?” Johnny mentioned it deliberately, raising an eyebrow as he spoke.
“Of course, it’s not convenient! I thought I made that clear last time. Mr. Chow, since you don’t have the guts to marry me, don’t even think about sleeping with me again!”
She truly despised how Johnny’s mind was always consumed with sex!
Johnny didn’t respond but lowered his head to finish a cigarette, tossing it to the ground and stamping it out.
“I have a lot of properties that can’t be transferred, and some of my parents’ properties are under my name. How about I give you half of what’s left?” He looked up at her, the neon lights from the restaurant flickering across his face.
Tilda suddenly laughed.
“Mr. Chow, are you trying to negotiate with me?”
“Even half would guarantee you a comfortable life in Northville City for the rest of your days.”
She had no doubt about that, but she didn’t want it.
“Listen carefully to what I said. I’m talking about all of your assets.” She reiterated, “And you would only be left with nothing if you violated any of the terms! When I asked, I saw you hesitate, which means you’re not as committed as you claim. I’m sure you can see that I’m not interested in your wealth. I just wanted to test you. Your hesitation is the best answer! Since you can’t promise me anything, let’s just go our separate ways, shall we? You can’t give me what I want.”
“I can’t, but can he?” Johnny sneered, “Look at him and the car he drives. His properties probably amount to just a car and a house. Even if you add everything he owns, it wouldn’t be worth even a tenth of mine!”
Tilda furrowed her brows, feeling insulted.
“Do you think this is an auction? The highest bidder wins? Johnny, don’t think you’re something special just because you have a bit of money. I don’t care! I advise you to act like strangers in Northville City from now on. If we run into each other, don’t talk to me! If you keep making this difficult for me, bringing up this ‘once or twice’ nonsense, I will definitely tell Ulric!”
This was truly the only thing that could threaten Johnny!
With that, Tilda turned to leave.
Johnny was quick, catching up to her in just a few steps as he grabbed her wrist.
Tilda struggled, and Howard in the car saw it.
He immediately threw open the door and got out, shouting, “What are you doing? Let Tilda go!”
Tilda’s heart sank, and she instantly regretted not letting Howard leave first! Johnny wouldn’t do anything to her, but he might take it out on Howard!
“Don’t come over. I’m fine!” Tilda waved her hand, signaling him to stay out of it.
But Johnny, with a wild look in his eyes, stepped toward Howard.
Before Howard could say another word, Johnny’s fist sent him crashing to the ground, his head hitting the car door with a loud thud!
“Johnny! Are you out of your mind?!”
Tilda rushed over, pushing Johnny away as she went to help Howard!
With his slight frame, how could he possibly withstand Johnny’s punch? He looked up, and blood was already starting to flow from his nose.
But Johnny clearly had no intention of letting him off the hook. He yanked Tilda back and spat, “In Northville City, no one dares to take my woman!”
