“Alright, I’ll wait for you at home. Flynn, remember to be polite when you talk to him later,” Matteo Kaur said over the phone.
“After all, this is different from last time. Mike Clark is your third uncle and head of the Hourglass Army,” he added.
Flynn hung up the phone and sneered.
Third uncle? Did anyone in the Clark family even deserve that title?
Head of the Hourglass Army? Just an ant!
Flynn quickly arrived at the Kaur family’s residence.
As soon as he arrived, he saw five Humvees parked at the entrance.
Each vehicle displayed the emblem of the Hourglass Army.
On each car hung a flag with a flying dragon depicted on a red background, majestic and powerful.
This was the flag of the Hourglass Army.
A fully armed escort stood in formation on both sides of the entrance to the Kaur family’s residence, like two impenetrable walls.
Their faces showed no emotion, only a cold and resolute expression that forbade any disrespect.
Mike Clark surely knew how to make an entrance.
All of the guards were Grandmasters.
“I never thought, Mr. Kaur, that you also love planting chrysanthemums,” Mike Clark said.
“Yes, they are not only beautiful but also have great medicinal value.”
“I have a few plants in my yard as well.”
In the small courtyard of the Kaur family, a middle-aged man dressed in military uniform stood by a small garden, picking a chrysanthemum and taking a deep sniff.
A bronze medal on his chest shimmered with golden light.
His face was dignified and proud, standing there like a sculpture.
With slightly raised eyebrows and deep, powerful eyes that seemed to see through people’s hearts, he exuded an awe-inspiring aura.
Matteo Kaur stood by his side, introducing him in a soft voice, not daring to act discourteously.
He had no good feelings towards the Clark family, but in front of the head of the Hourglass Army, he couldn’t help but feel apprehensive.
After all, he had to protect the Kaur family.
If they offended Mike Clark, the Kaur family would be doomed.
“Halt! Who are you?” one of the guards raised his bayonet on his rifle and blocked Flynn from entering the courtyard.
The sound caught Mike Clark’s attention, and he turned around to look.
Seeing this man who resembled Adrianna Noble in his eyes, Mike Clark narrowed his gaze slightly.
“This is the person I wanted to see. Let him in,” Mike Clark said without waiting for Matteo Kaur’s invitation before turning and entering the house.
He acted as if it were his own home.
With an unstoppable force in his steps, he sat down on the main seat without any expression on his face, but with an aura that commanded respect.
“Mr. Kaur, I know that my visit has made you nervous,” Mike Clark said while playing with his teacup, glancing at Flynn out of the corner of his eye.
“But don’t worry, I’m not here to cause trouble,” he added nonchalantly.
Not here to cause trouble?
Matteo Kaur was confused.
Mike Clark didn’t directly explain but observed Flynn’s expression instead.
To his surprise, there was no sign of joy on Flynn’s face. Instead, it appeared cold.
This was unexpected.
Shouldn’t Flynn have breathed a sigh of relief?
Perhaps he was too resentful and had been living in a state of abandonment for too long.
Mike Clark’s lips curved into a slight smile as he said, “Mr. Kaur, I won’t beat around the bush anymore.”
“I came here this time not only to handle some military affairs but also to bring Flynn back to the Clark family.”
“What… What?” Matteo Kaur stood up in shock and disbelief. “Is Paxton Clark willing to accept Flynn?”
It was too sudden.
Too unbelievable.
After all, it was the Clark family who sent Flynn to prison in the first place.
And not long ago, Flynn severely injured Ignatius Clark.
And now the Clark family wanted Flynn back as a family member?
Mike Clark nodded. “No matter what mistakes Flynn made in the past, he is my older brother’s son. He’s part of the Clark family.”
“Furthermore, my brother believes that Flynn’s actions against the Clark family were influenced by Adrianna Noble.”
“And it’s not Flynn’s fault.”
“So, my brother decided to let Flynn return to the Clark family and personally groom him for future responsibilities.”
“He will also give him a share of our assets.”
While speaking, Mike Clark glanced at Flynn with anticipation in his eyes, hoping to see some joy reflected there.
Unfortunately, there was none.
On the contrary, Flynn’s expression grew colder, and his eyes flickered with a hint of hostility.
Matteo Kaur fell silent.
A bitter laugh echoed in his heart.
Mike Clark really had a way with words.
The root of all disaster was the Clark family, yet from his mouth, it seemed as if Adrianna Noble was at fault.
Moreover, why only mention ten years ago, and not discuss why they drove the mother and son away and even pursued them back then?
Paxton Clark was truly shameless!
He staging this drama was probably for the medical book in Flynn’s hands.
After all, to the Clark family, Flynn was just a disgrace, a rebellious son, usually not even worth a glance…
But what could be done?
Exchanging the medical book for peace was better than fighting until the end.
The Clark family’s influence could only be described as terrifying.
Far beyond what a prominent family in Pelens could compare to.
Even Zion Watson paled in comparison.
Flynn couldn’t afford to refuse.
“Flynn, listen to Uncle Matteo and go back with him.”
“Living well is the greatest repayment to your mother.”
Matteo Kaur sighed as he spoke.
His words carried a deep meaning-at this moment, Flynn’s only path was to hand over the medical book in exchange for the Clark family’s forgiveness.
Otherwise, they would crush him just based on what he had done to Ignatius Clark alone.
But Flynn was too stubborn. He probably wouldn’t agree easily.
Matteo Kaur’s heart raced anxiously.
“Flynn, please listen to me. Don’t offend the Clark family. It will only lead to death!”
“Flynn, I know you hold grudges in your heart. But that’s all in the past. From now on, you are part of the Clark family,” Mike Clark said with pride and superiority, as if bringing Flynn back was an act of grace from the Clark family that Flynn should be grateful for, and that he should thank them for their benevolence.
“All in the past?” Flynn narrowed his eyes and sneered, “Does the Clark family have no shame?”
“If it weren’t for me having that medical book, you would have even shown up here,” he continued mockingly.
“Why not just send a few assassins directly?”
Mike Clark’s face darkened.
He had been prepared for this. He knew Flynn would understand what the Clark family truly intended.
But everything he had said earlier was meant to save face for both sides.
He didn’t expect Flynn to be so straightforward and expose him right then and there.
Didn’t he want this opportunity?
Mike Clark sat up straight. An invisible pressure weighed down heavily. “Let bygones be bygones. You will gain endless benefits from it.”
“The Clark family will give you assistance so that you can achieve heights that you could never reach. Don’t you want that?”
Flynn didn’t look up. Instead, storms brewed within him as he spoke in a low voice, “So, what you’re saying is that this is a kind gesture from the Clark family. And if I don’t agree, there is only death waiting for me?”
“You can think of it that way!” Mike Clark lost his patience.
He didn’t expect Flynn to be so stubborn.
“Ridiculous!” The air around Flynn became filled with killing intent as he stared at Mike Clark angrily. “What do you think you are? I don’t give a shit about the Clark family at all. How dare you threaten me?”
“Tell Paxton Clark that on Tessa Watson’s birthday, I will slaughter every member of the Clark family!”
“All your wealth and pride will turn into ashes!”
“All members of the Clark family will die kneeling before me!”
“I will make Paxton Clark realize how blind he truly is!”
“I will make that wretched Tessa Watson know what true despair feels like!”
Matteo Kaur looked terrified as fear coursed through his body. He collapsed onto the sofa, trembling.
His heart nearly stopped beating.
His worst fear had come true-Flynn not only rejected the Clark family’s terms but also uttered such rebellious words!
It was over!
