Alpha King Matthew commanded his Beta to bring Prince Michael and Princess Wendy to his suite post haste. Prince Michael knew he had made a mistake; he just didn’t know how bad it was until he saw his father in his suite. Even his mother looked upset at him which told him he really screwed up this time.
Beta Walsh brought them to the office in their suite and left per Alpha King Matthew’s orders. Alpha King Matthew sat behind the desk with his mate standing behind him with her hand on his shoulder for support. All Prince Michael could do was look at his disappointed father.
“Do you have any idea what you have just done!?! Any idea!?” demanded King Matthew to Prince Michael.
“I didn’t want her as my mate’s father so I rejected her,” explained Michael to his father.
“You make it sound so simple Michael and yet this could start a WAR between our two countries. Do you understand the gravity of the situation we are now in?” declared King Matthew to his son.
“Surely it won’t come to that simply because I rejected her?” whined Prince Michael.
“You still don’t understand, do you?” bellowed King Matthew to his son.
“Why would a war be declared simply because I rejected her? She can find another mate. It happens all the time,” suggested Prince Michael.
“She’s the heir to the throne in Europe. She’s been named to succeed her father in six months. She’s the next Queen of Europe. King Friedrich had no sons,” explained King Matthew.
Realizing his mistake, Prince Matthew hung his head down low. He looked over at Wendy and simply sighed. He had made a huge mistake and didn’t know how to fix it.
“How do we fix this father?” Michael asked him weakly.
Wendy stared at him with an incredulous look on her face. She knew her position in the family was at risk. She knew her time with Michael was limited.
“I have to negotiate with King Friedrich starting tomorrow morning in order to avoid a war. If we cannot come to some sort of an agreement between us and the Council, then there will be an all out war between our countries. The fallout won’t be pretty. Just be prepared to pay the price for your choice of a mate,” declared King Matthew to Prince Michael.
“Yes, Alpha King,” replied Prince Michael to his father. He knew at that point it was the Alpha King talking and not his father. He knew that he had to accept the consequences of his actions.
“Let’s get some sleep. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. You are dismissed,” commanded King Matthew.
“As you wish, Alpha King,” replied Prince Michael and Princess Wendy.
They left the office leaving just King Matthew and Queen Diana. King Matthew brought Queen Diana down to his lap.
“What are we going to do my love? How are we going to avoid a war? How did we raise such a chauvinistic child?” questioned Matthew to his mate.
“Dear, I don’t know. We raised both Michael and Myles the same way and yet, Myles is the total opposite of Michael. I just don’t understand his mindset lately. Why is he so dead set against females leading or ruling, I don’t know. He’s changed a lot in the past three years and not for the better mind you,” noted Diana to her beloved mate.
“I know my love. I just haven’t understood him sometimes. King Friedrich is royally pissed and rightfully so,” Matthew mournfully sighed as he nuzzled his mate in the crook of her neck.
“Why did you ask for Delta Melanie to be the neutral third-party individual? Is it because she has gone through a rejection just like this before?” questioned Diana to her mate.
“Yes, exactly like this. I was hoping she could shed some light on how we fix this problem. Come, my dear, let us get some rest. I feel the need to reconnect with you tonight in a way only mates can connect,” purred King Matthew to his mate.
“Mmm, I like the sound of that. Come, my beloved, let us go get some rest,” she purred back at him.
They walked out of the suite office hand-in-hand ready for some rest and relaxation.

Melanie was escorted to the awaiting SUV by Anthony and Anderson. It was a quick five-minute ride home from the pack house. When we arrived home, the house was lit up. All the lights were on in the downstairs which I found to be a little disturbing but I was told it was ‘okay.’
After we pulled up to the house, I had to wait a moment before I was allowed to get out of the vehicle. I thought it was overkill, but who am I, right? When I was allowed, I was properly escorted by Anthony. He had a magnificent smile on his handsome face.
We entered the house to find the rest of my family and the ranked wolves and their mates from the pack.
“Since we could not have a celebration dinner at the pack house, we decided we would bring it to you. We couldn’t let this momentous occasion pass us by without us celebrating it. We are so proud of you Delta Melanie,” exclaimed Alpha Richard.
“Thank you, Alpha Richard, for setting this up for me. Thank you all of you for coming here to help me celebrate in light of what happened tonight. It means a lot to me,” I exclaimed with a bright smile on my face.
“How could we miss such an extraordinary event such as this? We couldn’t, you’re just that special. Congratulations Melanie!” cried out Daniel as he hugged me. “I am so happy for you.”
“Thanks, baby brother, I love you,” I cooed as I hugged him back.
We enjoyed our evening with food, fun, and friends. The celebration lasted for a few hours. When everyone left, I was exhausted but Anthony was feeling frisky. I would never refuse my mate of anything, especially love.
Anthony led me upstairs to our bedroom. I found rose petals leading the way from the door to the bed. On the bed, Anthony had a heart shape made of roses. I gasped because in the middle of the Heart was a little black box with a ring.
I turned around to find Anthony down on one knee. “Melanie, I knew from the first moment I saw you, that you were my mate, my love, my life. I love you very much with all my heart and soul. You are going to be the mother of my pups. I have claimed you in all ways but in the legal way. Will you marry me, Melanie?” proposed Anthony with a huge smile on his handsome face.
I was so blown away by what I was looking at that I couldn’t form any words. I simply shook my head ‘yes.’ Anthony jumped up and claimed my lips immediately and then twirled me around the room. Then, he put me down to retrieve the ring from the box. He put the ring on my ring finger and kissed me again.
We spent the night making love and connecting to each other as only mates could. I needed this night with my mate because I knew the next day was going to be a very long day.
