Chapter Fifty Six

Book:The Billionaire's Regret Published:2025-2-19

“It’s the fucking Snakers, man.” Immediately the words left Raphael’s mouth, Tony’s shoulders fell and his head dropped to the headboard.

“And I hired him into my company without knowing about this.” He hissed, ruffling his hair out of anger and annoyance.

“I should have been more careful for fuck’s sake. I put her life in danger by not being careful enough.”

“That’s in the past now though, man. She’s out of danger and now we know not to be careless with things like this.” Raphael cut him off, to stop Tony from blaming himself.

Tony nodded and returned his hands to the steering wheel. “You’re right. What I have to do now is find him and make sure he apologizes to her. Knowing Lily, she’s probably losing her mind right now thinking something bad has happened to him.” He said with a stressed sigh.

“I can imagine how betrayed she’d feel when she learns the truth.” He added. “Anyway, thank you for your help, Raphael. I really appreciate it.” He thanked him and ended the call.

“I swear on my fucking life, man. It’s nothing like the last. I just want to speak to him about something really important…something that he needs to hear. Please, help me with this.” He said over the phone, begging one of his superiors for a chance to speak to Mehdi.

After much persuasion, he finally agreed and told him to wait.

Louis sat on his bed, tapping his legs impatiently as he waited for Mehdi’s response to his request.

He had been thinking since his last conversation with Tony and he was yet to conclude if he really wanted to side with Tony, a righteous man who was out to get his girl and had tried to expose the gang in the past.

Even though he had gotten Tony’s word on not saying a word about the gang, he knew not to trust Tony.

So, he was going to get Lily his way.

His phone rang and he quickly picked it up.

“You’re one lucky guy, Louis.” His friend laughed. “Draco wants you in his office before 2 pm.”

Louis threw his hands in the air happily. “Yes!” He exclaimed.

“Thank you so much, man. I owe you one.” He said and ended the call. Checking his time, he saw that it was already past 1 pm which meant that he had less than an hour to be at Mehdi’s office.

He grabbed his car key and headed to his car. It was going to be his first time visiting Kings Electronics which was Mehdi’s biggest company.

When he arrived at the company, he headed straight to the receptionist. “I’m here to see Mehdi King.” He said and the receptionist pursed her lips, taking another look at him to be sure he knew what he was talking about.

He was dressed in ripped jeans and a black shirt that showed off his tattoos. His hair was ruffled and he had an earring dangling on his ear. Compared to the corporate setting of the company, he looked like a thug.

“I’m sorry, sir but, I cannot let you in if you do not have an appointment with Mr King.” She said politely, mainly because she didn’t trust his intentions, especially with the way he looked.

“I do have an appointment actually. You can call to confirm.” He tucked his hands in his pockets and replied casually.

The blonde raised a brow and nodded before placing a call to Mehdi’s secretary.

“Can I get your name, please?” She asked Louis.

“Louis…Just Louis.” He replied and she nodded. A minute later she looked up at him and smiled.

“Alright, Sir. You’re cleared. Mr King is waiting at the top floor.” She said and Louis walked off without sparing her a second glance.

“Welcome, Mr Louis. This way, please.” A dark-haired lady with a thick French accent greeted him as soon as the elevator opened.

She placed a knock on the door before opening and leading Louis in.

“He’s here, Mr King.” She said to Mehdi who was facing the large window and had his back to them.

“Alright, Raquel. You may leave.” He waved at her. As the doors closed, he spun his chair and faced Louis who stood with his hands by his side.

“Boss.” He greeted but Mehdi shook his head.

“It’s Mr King here.” He corrected and Louis nodded.

“Of course.” He said and cleared his throat, relieving his tension.

“What do you have to tell me then?” He asked without offering him a seat, his attention now on the papers before him.

Louis took a deep breath. “I was approached by Tony…Tony Martinez.” As the name left his lips, Mehdi paused, his attention shifting completely to him.

“Tony? And why is that?” He clasped his hands and waited.

“He wants me on his side. He has promised me Lily if I help him bring you down.” Louis replied and a smirk appeared on Mehdi’s face, now very interested in the conversation.

“And what was your reply?” He asked.

“No, of course. That’s why I’m here.” Louis replied and Mehdi nodded.

“So, you came all the way here to report this to me because you want to show how loyal you are?”Mehdi asked and Louis shook his head.

“I don’t need to prove that. The fact that the gang is still running and hasn’t been invaded by the police is more than enough proof. I am here for something else.” He said, his tone getting firm and his expression hardening.

Mehdi cocked his head to the side in surprise. “Something else?”

“I’ll help you take Tony down but, on one condition; you give me Lily. That’s all I want.” He said without batting an eyelash.

Excitement flashed in Mehdi’s eyes as he watched Louis give him terms. He didn’t believe that he was brave enough to do that while standing before him.

He let out a loud laugh and shook his head. “Louis, Louis. So, you have come here to strike a deal with me then?” He asked and Louis nodded.

“What makes you think I can’t handle Tony myself and still do whatever I want with Lily? You’re fucking brave to think I need your help to handle a pussy like Tony.” He said mockingly but, Louis was not going to back down.

“You’re right, Draco. You can handle him yourself…just like you did a few days ago.” Louis mocked, holding in a smirk and the smile on Mehdi’s face wiped off immediately and was replaced with a frown.

“Have you fucking lost your mind?” Mehdi questioned in a low and dangerous tone.

Holding his hands up, Louis replied. “I was just trying to say that you already tried to handle it yourself and we all know how it ended. Why not do things differently this time? I mean, he has already reached out to me for my help. All I have to do is pretend to be on his side while helping you and in no time, Tony will be a thing of the past and we’d both be happy.” He explained.

Mehdi knew he was right. He had done things his way and the failure had been massive. But, the only thing standing in the way of him taking Louis’s hand was his ego.

But, it was either that or he let Tony ruin his life and everything he had worked hard to build. So, he decided to go with the wiser option.

“Alright, Louis. I’ll take your help and give you what you want but, you better not fail me. If you do, consider yourself a dead man.”
